That was the genius of this statement...it probably was a confession, but if Goodell or anyone in the NFL pressed him on it in his quest to buy into the Raiders (or any other team) he can easily deflect it and just say it was a joke, even take it a step further and just say one of the comedians wrote it or pitched it to him as a joke. My wife and I laughed pretty hard when he said it. I mean its not like anyone believes he didn't do it, even my Pats fan friends say he definitely did it ha.

Totally understand you stance here, but I just don't think people are associating Hernandez with "Mental Health" as much as they are cold blooded killer who chose violence his whole life on how to deal with things. So not sure he is going to get a lot of sympathy because of that. I would also presume his daughter would skip any Roast of anyone closely tied to Hernandez if she couldn't handle the AH jokes too. Everyone has different tastes and limits with humor...for me, I thought it was great, but also don't fault you for feeling different about it.

It was definitely Coleman. They were in love with Coleman and it’s why they took Polk next on the small trade back as a similar style of player.

No offense…but I can’t stand childish and ridiculous comments like this. First of all, if you have a pulse and just like comedy that alone is worth the watch because it was hilarious. Second, loving watching Brady and other Pats get shredded all night does not make you a Pats fan. Hating the Pats made it that much better. And third, some of us love football in general. So you can respect someone for what they were and still dislike them. I dont think you know what a roast is.

Tony Hitchcliffe killed it, Kevin Hart was incredible and so was Nikki Glazer. The whole roast was great, but those were my 3 faves overall

How is no one talking about this Live roast of Brady on Netflix tonight? It’s epic and hilarious. I was stunned to come here and no one in shout box talking about it and no threads on it. Kevin Hart annihilated him on the opening monologue hahaha. This has been one of the best roasts for sure

With Chasepool, feels like there is talent there he never lived up to. McD always says, come here to be your best self, so maybe playing here and with Josh can turn it around for him. However, I am skeptical he makes the roster. Lets see if he surprises

I wasn’t interested in using the draft capital and cap space on DHop, but now that we drafted Coleman, I’m much more open to it as I agree he would be an excellent mentor.

Beane already said he will be an X WR here, not a big slot. I think what some of you are missing on this pick is you have in your mind what you think they should do rather than focusing on what the kind of offense they are actually building. Everyone loves speed, even our FO. But, there is a very strong theme Beane has made very clear...he wants players with an edge, players who bring more swagger and toughness to the table. He isn't trying to build a track team out there, he is giving Allen options at various phases of the field, guys who can make that extra play or two that we have failed to make in the post season that has kept us from advancing. They said Jefferson was a big slot too. They said Mike Evans wasn't fast enough to be on the outside. And I know that you felt DeAndre Hopkins was the best WR in football for a long time, yet Coleman's pro day 40 was faster than any 40 Hopkins ran. Even his slower 40 at the combine wasn't much slower than Hopkins and still faster than a lot of other WR1's that have had great careers in the NFL, and even HOF careers. So I think everyones tendency to label him a big slot is selling him short. One thing being over looked is how Florida St used him too and what they asked him to do. He is going to get a whole other level of coaching on technique to take advantage of all that athleticism where he can win and separate in the NFL like all the other greats who ran similar or worse 40's than him. As far as his contested catch %, it was much higher prior to last year and was impacted playing the backup QB where they put a lot of praryer low percentage balls towards him. He still only had 2 drops on the season, and I think we will see he is quite good on contested catches when he has an elite QB putting the ball more consistently in places he can win those 50/50 balls. I have always hated them being called 50/50 balls, because that is the worst description. Some of them are put in places where they should be caught at a higher rate than 50% (see Diggs dropped bomb vs KC where he let ball go through his hands for example...should catch that almost all the time) and many many more that are much lower than 50% because they are poorly placed for the WR to succeed, and some that are so much so that the WR plays more defense than anything on the ball to keep the turnover from happening. So for me, I think he is going to excel at the contested catch in the NFL and benefit from off script throws by Allen too getting him balls in areas only he can get to. And I do think he has the commitment, intelligence, and athleticism to excel and succeed in the NFL at getting separation and plenty of YAC as well.

Diggs disappeared under Dorsey the year before too in the 2nd half of the season and playoffs. Diggs has never in 4 seasons had a great playoff run, or even a good one. Hard disagree here. There is simply no truth to the fact that McD wants to run the ball and be a run first team. He has said many times he wants more big plays, to get the passing game going. But this team was anemic rushing the ball, especially in the playoffs and bad weather when we needed it the most. When your D can't stop Mahomes the best thing is to keep control of the ball and keep him off the field. We were one dimensional before Cooks emergence last year, and some of you act like that was a bad thing. McD has also been one of the absolute most aggressive coaches in the NFL since he has been HC. We had a top 5, arguably top 3 for a couple years, in Diggs and didn't get out of the 2nd round the past 3 seasons. Or maybe that had to do with their QB not being very good. If you cant see the MASSIVE canyon of difference between Allen and Bridgewater and how that will affect the two teams scoring then I don't know what to tell you. And those guys had that season with a crappy Bridgewater at QB. Do you even realize how little Diggs and Davis contributed once Dorsey was fired? If you don't think this offense can thrive without them, then you weren't paying attention second half of the season and playoffs. Shakir broke out second half season and his role built up over the season. Kincaid was a rookie. Cook broke out as well. These are young ascending players on the rise, yet you talk like they peaked. And Brady didn't install his system, he was running Dorseys. Now he gets an entire offseason to work with these players, install his system and integrate someone he knows well in Samuel and also our new rookie in Coleman. I think all 3 of Coleman, Shakir, and Kincaid will flirt with 1000 yards this year personally.

This concept we are a "slow" team is puzzling to me. We may not be a track team, but we are also not slow and have a ton of athleticism across our offense. Samuel is a 4.3 WR Shakir is a near 4.4 WR Kincaid is athletic and a mismatch type TE out there who can attack the seem Cook is an explosive RB as a runner and a reciever Allen is one of the most dangerous QB's on the run ever in the NFL Then we just added Ray Davis who has great acceleration and burst to go along with some power. We still have sleeper guys like Cephus, Hamler, and Isabella who all have top end speed to potentially come in a stretch the field (Hamler maybe having the most potential) and/or be a weapon on the new kickoff format. And, while Coleman may not have deep ball speed to just run past DB's, he is one of the most athletic WR's in the draft this year and has plenty of acceleration, agility, and burst to rip off large chunks and still beat guys deep. I mean everyone wanted DeAndre Hopkins at multiple times in his career and Colemans pro day 40 time was faster than Hopkins fastest recorded 40 time. Coleman is fast enough to beat guys all over the field and the kind of guy who also doesn't even need a lot of separation to be open like Hopkins. He is also faster than Mike Evans, another guy people have been wanting us to go get for years. And in Buffalo, we play a lot of bad weather games and a lot more physical games where speed is nice, but isn't as valuable as toughness, athleticism, and execution. The fastest team in NFL history with 2 MVP candidates at QB and WR cant beat teams over .500, can't win a playoff game, and can't even win their division with a 4 game lead and 5 games to go. In fact, Miami probably doesn't even make the playoffs this year with all the AFC teams on the rise and the ones getting their QB's back like Bengals and Jets.

And how many track team WR groups have won a Super Bowl in the last 20 years?

Coleman isn't going to be a big slot here, it was already stated by Beane he is coming in as an X WR who can also play some Z. In other words, they drafted Coleman to be our WR1. I wouldn't make too much of the "projections" which are the same projections that said guys like Justin Jefferson would be big slot WR's too in the NFL or that Mike Evans couldn't be an X WR in the NFL. I agree with this, and what I was saying about Coleman is that if he does have early chemistry with Josh and success on the field, teams are going to have to double him some because that is the only way to defend his size and athleticism if he is doing his thing out there. If Coleman and Josh are clicking, and they don't start keying on him and sometimes doubling on Coleman then he will be in line for a very big season. Coleman is just too big and athletic to not draw extra attention if he and Josh are having success.

Good question…one, I don’t think we need anyone to draw double coverage because every guy on the field can win their matchup now between Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, Kincaid, Knox, Cook, and Davis. We can put pressure anywhere we want really. But, I do think Coleman is going to start drawing double coverage if he comes in and finds early success because with his size there really isn’t any other way to cover him. There is a lot of people down on our offensive group as a whole right now, but I’m honestly very excited about it and think we will be better than last year, especially with Brady getting to finally install his full offense.

What does that have to do with anything? Bill Walsh paid a bounty and traded up for JJ Stokes and called him the next Jerry Rice. Guess that means every decision Bill Walsh made also didn't work out right?

Yes, that was one I posted, but we were .500 and coming off a loss to the Eagles when I made it and laid what I thought would happen rest of season and why I was optimistic still at a time where a lot people were not. And if you think that is why I post these threads, and it's only been a few, then you don't know me well as a poster. If you think most think this, then I suggest you read the thread and all the draft day threads this year with all the people melting down that we didn't take a 2nd WR to play ahead of Shakir. I also spent all of last season arguing with people that we needed less Davis and more Shakir too, including starting threads on it long before he broke out. I spent most of last pre-season arguing with people who swore he had bad hands and cant catch because of the one pass that was overturned in the playoff game as a rookie against Miami. If it was most of us, I wouldn't have started the thread. And of course, there are people high on him too, never said I was the only one. I will say though, I have been all about Shakir since draft night when we stole him in the 5th round.

Thats a fair point as well, but I do think Shakir has earned his time on the field with them and we will see him still get a large increase in targets too. But yes, I am also very excited about Kincaid.

Wasnt a victory lap by any means, was just wondering if the vote of confidence by the team changed their perspective at all as many were down on him before the draft and expecting to see 2 WR's taken, or a big trade go down. Then the video on him and Bernard came out that also was great to see. So more just seeing if there more people warming up to him or adjusting their expectations based off that. He still has to perform on the field when the games start for sure.

Yup... I mean the whole reason I would want the $10B in the first place would be to buy a sports team (Bills or Lakers for me) So if you already owned said team, why sell? He doesn't need the money, but he is one of only 32 people who own an NFL franchise, its an exclusive and expensive club to be in.

Im glad some of the people around here are doing a 180 and coming around to like Coleman the way some of us did leading up to the draft. It is kinda funny that its because of his personality and epic interviews though haha. I said it on draft night, this kid is one of the most ready to play and be a WR1 in the draft. This won't be a situation where they bring him along slowly like they have done with some other rookies in the past. He will be a factor this year and I can't wait to see bringing down those TD's in the redzone instead of kicking FGs
