  1. Law of diminishing returns my man regarding Houston. He's nasty, no doubt, but that extra 5 or 6 million can go a long way somewhere else and be more valuable than the difference between Houston and Jerry (or someone else and possibly a 10M or so difference).
  2. Hope so, all the SF fans (in comments in articles I have seen) are pretty glad that he's gone and blame him for them falling off and not winning a SB. Hopefully they are just bitter.
  3. It's amazing to me how little respect some people still give to Jerry Hughes and his pass rushing skills. He may not be worth the money he gets to us, but to say that the draft and FA are full of guys like him is insane to me.
  4. Chicken or Egg? That's the question.
  5. SIGN ME UP!!! And I never write in all caps!
  6. And if Maxx is available to us in the 2nd I'd be all over him for sure (if we don't address TE already in FA). Dude is legit. I think he goes late 1st early 2nd though.
  7. Guess it's just highly coincidental that the two best "shutdown" CBs are playing for the big prize today, huh? I love the idea of Revis on a 2 or 3 year deal for big bucks. I don't think we really have a need to break the bank on Houston though. If you are blitzing that much you don't need 3 or 4 elite pass rushers, Marcel and Mario would suffice on the elite level (plus a cheaper Hughes would be ideal) and then a few "average" guys and we'd tear it up. Kyle still has some life in him too and he's certainly not "average" either.
  8. He's gone from 6.3 to 6.0 to 5.0 last season, that's a 20% decrease over two seasons and, to me, that's concerning as those tires may already be low on tread.
  9. That's why I looked at it in terms of YPC not the Yards or TD regression.
  10. I'd give you 10-1 odds on that one. I'm sorry, but if a QB isn't good enough for TB, then I don't want him.
  11. Harrison will get elected in the next few years and no one will even remember this. Whenever there is a limit to the number of players that can enter there is ALWAYS going to be people who are left out. The fact is, Brown should have been in years ago. Sometimes you just have to wait in line for a bit. I don't really consider it a snub at all. A snub would be someone who would never get in that deserves it...say Steve Tasker???
  12. Maybe the fact that he's regressed the last two years (YPC) on the team that consistently has the best OLine in college football is more convincing to you?
  13. Maybe these athletes should look at their labor union who negotiates and agrees to all of these things with the NFL. It's quite simple, as the "company" the NFL is out to negotiate the most favorable deal with it's employees that it can, it's not their fault that their idiot representation accepts it. This. This would be an extremely high profile labor strike / lockout. Many high profile labor unrest get settled on public relations issues. If the players go to bat and explain themselves to the media / public and garner their support I believe the NFL would have no choice but to give in eventually. They just don't have the balls to do it or aren't willing to sacrifice a years salary for the good of everyone going forward. Most likely would fall somewhere in between the guaranteed number and the life of the contract number.
  14. I also find Yeldon in the 5th to be laughable. Just because RBs don't go in the top of the 1st anymore doesn't mean they don't get picked in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds. Yeldon will be gone by the end of the 3rd in my opinion, but, you never know. I actually don't really like or trust Yeldon. You need only look to his own backfield in Henry to find a better runner. That is never a good sign in my opinion for a college RB (save Thurman and Barry). I remember thinking the same thing about Richardson and Lacy, how Lacy looked better to me when he got the ball even though he was second fiddle, and look how that has turned out so far. Anyways, on to Abdullah. After Gordon and Gurley I like him on the next level with Duke Johnson and would be pretty happy with him in the 3rd. I don't think he's worth the 2nd though (I do think Gurley is). On Josh Robinson, he's a much better candidate for the 5th. Tell me that guy doesn't remind you of the bowling ball Maurice Jones Drew? He may be lacking the speed, but if our goal is to ground and pound, he can certainly do that. RBs are a dime a dozen and this is a good RB draft, just don't reach on a guy this year and then there are a number of scenarios that I would be happy with (as listed above).
  15. I am of the opinion that Maxx will be the one long gone because, unlike Walford, he possesses the blocking skill package as well (supposedly). I think Walford will be around for our 2nd round pick, but it will be close especially since he is said to have looked very good during the Senior Bowl practices. Admittedly, I am a "U" fan and may be biased on him, but at the same time that means I watch a lot of "U" games and really, really liked what I saw out of him (and Duke for that matter) and would love them on our squad. Obviously I don't "know" that they are the difference makers, just taking some literary license with my words. As far as your assessment of the "Deep South", I think you can make those statements about some neighborhoods in pretty much every inner-city in the country.
  16. My question is how the heck did the Saints and Raiders have no picks in the first two rounds! Saints I can understand because of the bounty scandal but the Raiders, jeez. No wonder they always suck.
  17. Maxx Williams and Clive Walford are the difference makers in this draft.
  18. What the hell does a GM have to do with defensive schemes?
  19. Went to HS with Wes (now Wash TE coach I believe and on the rise), his son while he was the coach. He would always come to the football and basketball games and was so nice to everyone, just a regular dude. Always rooted hard for him after he left.
  20. When you go to a school that is consistently ranked in the top 20 in the national rankings you sure as hell can. We are not talking West Virginia here, it's Berkeley.
  21. Absolutely! "There you go, now it's in context."
  22. How can you not love this. He's hilarious, all his teammates love him, a straight up baller, and his intelligence is very underestimated. http://youtu.be/UqMsT_2teus?t=15s
  23. Go back to ECC and study harder man, you are clueless with how things actually work.
  24. Cool man, if you want to believe that the President / CEO of a $3Trillion mutual fund is worth less than 0.0033% of his company then that is your prerogative. Me, I live in the real world.
