  1. What about Luck, Manning, Roethlisberger, Flacco, Wilson, Eli to name a few who all started at least 1/2 their rookie season games (and many from day 1)? There are just as many examples on each side of the fence which tells me that it doesn't really matter either way. Not to mention the long list of guys who failed after sitting (as well as a the list of guys who failed starting from day 1).
  2. No doubt, but my point was that there is a difference between completing passes to open receivers and constantly hitting open receivers in stride allowing for huge YAC and big plays. If you are throwing them in stride then it hints at very good accuracy. Now, reading the NFL D's and knowing where to throw it is a completely different animal than having the ability to throw it exactly where you want.
  3. By all accounts, though, Rodgers was absolutely shredding defenses in practice during that time. For what it's worth. I'm sick of this Carr talk crap. Can someone show me a shred of evidence that this clown is better than EJ because his stats and what I saw during the two or three games I watched of him sure as heck don't show that. Bridgewater had an impressive rookie season though.
  4. I also agree with you guys. Of the Baylor games I watched he was consistently hitting guys in stride all game long. Sure, there were some misses, but who the heck doesn't miss some passes???
  5. It's almost worth trading up a bit to get Maxx Williams or Clive Walford. Perhaps wait until one is selected (most likely Maxx at this point) and then make a move. If they both happen to be there still, well then, run to the podium. My only hesitation would be if Gurley was still there.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Saul called the guy that makes people disappear, didn't he say that was going to Nebraska to manage a Cinnabon in Omaha or something like that?
  7. While the Bills team overall is better yes, our offensive coaching and play calling was the worst in the league since EJ has been around. Perhaps you are the one who needs to give EJ a real chance with someone who knows what the hell they are doing on offense. Also, when you look at their stats relatively they are very similar in terms of completion percentage, interception rate, and yards per attempt, the three most telling stats IMO. EJ had a terrible game against one of the better defenses in the league with the single most impactful defender to come along in a while and they gave up on him.
  8. I'd take Gerald McCoy over Garrett in a heartbeat.
  9. While this is true, the rules have also changed to significantly favor the offense and especially the passing game. Contact rules on WRs, defenseless receiver rules leading to no consequence of going over the middle, you can't fart on the QB without getting a roughing the passer call, etc. I think that aspect gets balanced out because of these rule changes. I agree with your whole post and especially this part on EJ. He even stated after his benching something like "next time I get the opportunity, I'm letting it rip." To me, that meant that they were clearly keeping him on a short leash when it came to making plays.
  10. The first few pages of this thread made a lot of posters look very bad. Love it.
  11. Talking about this on WGR right now, Freddie Coleman show...and they are absolutely loving the idea!!!
  12. You are obviously way more informed than I when it comes to the CFL so I will certainly defer to your judgement! My point was more that it's a whole different world to dominate in FCS college ball and the CFL than it is to be a franchise QB in the NFL, but I think you agreed with that as well by stating he isn't quite ready yet. Impossible, no, but the OP declaring him the answer is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Thanks for your insight!
  13. EJ Manuel would dominate in the CFL and in FCS college football as well.
  14. This. The article lost all respect when Mario was left out of the "elite" class.
  15. Never burn your bridges regardless of the situation. Never.
  16. I swear you do this in every single thread. Gets a bit old, no? Where exactly is the thread discussing Derek Jeter and the Bills?
  17. I'd put Johnny Football in that category too.
  18. If we signed Greg Hardy I would seriously have to examine my fandom of the Bills. I wouldn't want Icognito, but not to the level of Hardy. Peterson had issues stemming from how he was raised. Seeing as he's (supposedly) gone/going through therapy to address his issues, I would be most in favor of him, but still wouldn't love it.
  19. I was just browsing the ESPN top 300 over the past 10 years to see how many guys panned out. I probably scanned quick the top 30-40 each year and was surprised at how many Bills were there. Also, not mentioned in your post, on the list were Gilmore (18), Watkins (39), Cyrus Kouandjio (3). Didn't notice Bradham though, must have missed him or he fell just below how far I went on ESPN.
  20. The league gives it as a reward for winning the SB. I don't think it "has to be" but it's what they have been doing for years (except the previously mentioned Ravens one).
  21. I know what you are saying, but I'm of the opinion that after such a long lay-off from "real" football, them playing Pitt or them playing Buffalo is not going to matter. The same people are going to watch either way. I mean hell, it's not like we are the Jags.
  22. A lot of you guys are acting like it matters who the Pats play as far as ratings go. Opening game of the season, SB champs, they could be playing anyone and the ratings are going to be sky high.
  23. Best part is, they only said he was "doubtful" to come back!
  24. No Doc, Edelman had nothing to do with it. He just fell on it wrong. http://i.imgur.com/oiJZNNq.jpg
