If we signed Greg Hardy I would seriously have to examine my fandom of the Bills. I wouldn't want Icognito, but not to the level of Hardy. Peterson had issues stemming from how he was raised. Seeing as he's (supposedly) gone/going through therapy to address his issues, I would be most in favor of him, but still wouldn't love it.

I was just browsing the ESPN top 300 over the past 10 years to see how many guys panned out. I probably scanned quick the top 30-40 each year and was surprised at how many Bills were there. Also, not mentioned in your post, on the list were Gilmore (18), Watkins (39), Cyrus Kouandjio (3). Didn't notice Bradham though, must have missed him or he fell just below how far I went on ESPN.

The league gives it as a reward for winning the SB. I don't think it "has to be" but it's what they have been doing for years (except the previously mentioned Ravens one).

I know what you are saying, but I'm of the opinion that after such a long lay-off from "real" football, them playing Pitt or them playing Buffalo is not going to matter. The same people are going to watch either way. I mean hell, it's not like we are the Jags.

A lot of you guys are acting like it matters who the Pats play as far as ratings go. Opening game of the season, SB champs, they could be playing anyone and the ratings are going to be sky high.

Law of diminishing returns my man regarding Houston. He's nasty, no doubt, but that extra 5 or 6 million can go a long way somewhere else and be more valuable than the difference between Houston and Jerry (or someone else and possibly a 10M or so difference).

Hope so, all the SF fans (in comments in articles I have seen) are pretty glad that he's gone and blame him for them falling off and not winning a SB. Hopefully they are just bitter.

It's amazing to me how little respect some people still give to Jerry Hughes and his pass rushing skills. He may not be worth the money he gets to us, but to say that the draft and FA are full of guys like him is insane to me.

Guess it's just highly coincidental that the two best "shutdown" CBs are playing for the big prize today, huh? I love the idea of Revis on a 2 or 3 year deal for big bucks. I don't think we really have a need to break the bank on Houston though. If you are blitzing that much you don't need 3 or 4 elite pass rushers, Marcel and Mario would suffice on the elite level (plus a cheaper Hughes would be ideal) and then a few "average" guys and we'd tear it up. Kyle still has some life in him too and he's certainly not "average" either.

He's gone from 6.3 to 6.0 to 5.0 last season, that's a 20% decrease over two seasons and, to me, that's concerning as those tires may already be low on tread.

That's why I looked at it in terms of YPC not the Yards or TD regression.

Whenever there is a limit to the number of players that can enter there is ALWAYS going to be people who are left out. The fact is, Brown should have been in years ago. Sometimes you just have to wait in line for a bit. I don't really consider it a snub at all. A snub would be someone who would never get in that deserves it...say Steve Tasker???

Maybe the fact that he's regressed the last two years (YPC) on the team that consistently has the best OLine in college football is more convincing to you?
