  1. I don't think there is any chance the Saints move on from him. But if they do, then hell yeah I would want him. Anyone who says "but he's an indoor QB" or "his arm isn't strong enough for the weather" really needs to take into account that we really only have one or two bad weather games a year.
  2. It's the same thing. Strength of schedule goes from hardest to easiest. Your list goes from easiest to hardest.
  3. Mike Evans was seen as a poor route runner with only straight line speed and less than stellar hands. OBJ was seen as small and unable to make catches over defenders. Watkins is fast, big, strong, amazing hands, can run routes, can jump, etc. His only knock was one off field incident.
  4. So when exactly is "crunch time" if it's not on game winning drives?
  5. You are completely overlooking the point that Sammy was the only WR seen as a Sure Thing going into the draft. You can't look at the deal after the fact but should look at it with the information that was available at the time.
  6. I can't believe we have a thread on a backup offensive lineman that is now 7 pages long. That is all.
  7. He was a 4 year starter and he has never been considered a "big arm guy" but an average NFL arm guy. Glennon is a "big arm guy" for example.
  8. Titans are not in a position to win even if they got Manning. I can't see him continuing his playing career for anything but a shot at another Championship.
  9. Says who? Doug Marrone? He was saddled with the worst offensive coaching staff in the league in his two seasons. Can we please, please, please just give this guy a bit of a chance before we just throw him away.
  10. Yeah, he really stepped up in those 3 wins. Give me a break. And FYI EJ has 3 game winning drives on his stat sheet, Blake Bortles...0. Nice try though.
  11. His performance at the end of the year is very concerning to me. Is that leg going to fully heal up?
  12. What about Luck, Manning, Roethlisberger, Flacco, Wilson, Eli to name a few who all started at least 1/2 their rookie season games (and many from day 1)? There are just as many examples on each side of the fence which tells me that it doesn't really matter either way. Not to mention the long list of guys who failed after sitting (as well as a the list of guys who failed starting from day 1).
  13. No doubt, but my point was that there is a difference between completing passes to open receivers and constantly hitting open receivers in stride allowing for huge YAC and big plays. If you are throwing them in stride then it hints at very good accuracy. Now, reading the NFL D's and knowing where to throw it is a completely different animal than having the ability to throw it exactly where you want.
  14. By all accounts, though, Rodgers was absolutely shredding defenses in practice during that time. For what it's worth. I'm sick of this Carr talk crap. Can someone show me a shred of evidence that this clown is better than EJ because his stats and what I saw during the two or three games I watched of him sure as heck don't show that. Bridgewater had an impressive rookie season though.
  15. I also agree with you guys. Of the Baylor games I watched he was consistently hitting guys in stride all game long. Sure, there were some misses, but who the heck doesn't miss some passes???
  16. It's almost worth trading up a bit to get Maxx Williams or Clive Walford. Perhaps wait until one is selected (most likely Maxx at this point) and then make a move. If they both happen to be there still, well then, run to the podium. My only hesitation would be if Gurley was still there.
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Saul called the guy that makes people disappear, didn't he say that was going to Nebraska to manage a Cinnabon in Omaha or something like that?
  18. While the Bills team overall is better yes, our offensive coaching and play calling was the worst in the league since EJ has been around. Perhaps you are the one who needs to give EJ a real chance with someone who knows what the hell they are doing on offense. Also, when you look at their stats relatively they are very similar in terms of completion percentage, interception rate, and yards per attempt, the three most telling stats IMO. EJ had a terrible game against one of the better defenses in the league with the single most impactful defender to come along in a while and they gave up on him.
  19. I'd take Gerald McCoy over Garrett in a heartbeat.
  20. While this is true, the rules have also changed to significantly favor the offense and especially the passing game. Contact rules on WRs, defenseless receiver rules leading to no consequence of going over the middle, you can't fart on the QB without getting a roughing the passer call, etc. I think that aspect gets balanced out because of these rule changes. I agree with your whole post and especially this part on EJ. He even stated after his benching something like "next time I get the opportunity, I'm letting it rip." To me, that meant that they were clearly keeping him on a short leash when it came to making plays.
  21. The first few pages of this thread made a lot of posters look very bad. Love it.
  22. Talking about this on WGR right now, Freddie Coleman show...and they are absolutely loving the idea!!!
  23. You are obviously way more informed than I when it comes to the CFL so I will certainly defer to your judgement! My point was more that it's a whole different world to dominate in FCS college ball and the CFL than it is to be a franchise QB in the NFL, but I think you agreed with that as well by stating he isn't quite ready yet. Impossible, no, but the OP declaring him the answer is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Thanks for your insight!
  24. EJ Manuel would dominate in the CFL and in FCS college football as well.
