  1. I agree with all of your other points but not on these. I thought Darby looked just fine. The throws he got beat on were all perfectly thrown balls that ANY CB would have a very hard time breaking up. The two on the sideline were perfectly placed in stride in the WRs arms towards the sideline where they were able to use their body as a sort of shield. Darby was right there on both of them, had his arm in there, and just got beat by tremendous throws and catches. On the TD it was a perfectly thrown back shoulder and high ball to a tall WR. It was perfectly placed and perfectly time. Virtually unstoppable if you don't maul the WR. He really only got beat on 1 play and that was the back shoulder play down the sideline. He ran right past it. But again, that was well timed and perfectly thrown, but he wasn't close on that one. The rest of his targets he was right there, broke up numerous plays, and looked legit for a 1st pre-season game to me. EJ was 9-10 if you take out the three drops. Even though their replays were crap in the game, I went back in slow mo and watched them all again, they were all flat out drops for NFL WRs and TEs. He saved a huge loss on a bad snap by at least stopping it and the other snap was 100% on Urbik too. He made by far the prettiest throw of the day on the TD, was throwing lasers to the sidelines, and was going through progressions quickly. His throws were right on target, right on time on every throw except the roll out one and on this play he still came out ahead by avoiding that sack. He team just didn't help him out, hopefully those are plays our first and second team make. EJ deserves a shot with 1st teamers with that performance and I would still take him all day over Cassell. Mulligan..ugh...all is see is the new Lee Smith. He looked slow, goofy, and he even was trying to get a unsportsmanlike penalty after one of the plays getting into it with a guy near the pile when the play was clearly over. No Thank You.
  2. Seemed to me the only reason Kevin Johnson did that was because the day before, when they were not in full pads, that RB lowered his shoulder on him. So the next day when they were in full pads Johnson just did what we was supposed to do, get even lower than the guy. You can easily see that the RB was lowering that shoulder again on him, just like he did the day before. It was a great tackle IMO.
  3. I think it's going to be hard for them to find "A List" actors for season 3 after the reception of this season. Maybe that's a good thing though, lower expectations a bit and find people that fit their roles better regardless of how well known they are.
  4. They are doing a story on Rex on the next Real Sports episode. Airs August 18th, 9pm HBO.
  5. Is easy to see why JJ Watt is the best player in the league. Only guy on the field doing drills when it was dusk until full blown night time. THEN he goes and signs autographs for over an hour. He said he would earn that contract. That's a man living up to his word so far.
  6. I hear what you are saying. I dabbled in playing a little QB back in the day and am by no means great or even very good. I've got a decent arm, that's it. But when I'm throwing the ball around with my friends I can pretty much hit all of them in stride within 20 or 25 yards down the field. After that it starts to get tougher for me. You would think ANY pro would be able to do it without pressure at least 40 to 45 yards down the field. Part of the problem may be the increased difficulty there is on breaks and timing routes, but a deep ball, a post route, a slant/drag, a flats throw or screen pass...that's easy stuff I would think.
  7. The U is my favorite team so I try to watch all their games. Kaaya has a loooooonnnnnnnngggggg way to go still, in my opinion. I certainly didn't leave last season feeling impressed by him, but I can understand why people are excited about the future for him. He needs a lot of development, but if he continues to get better this year and next year he will be the front runner for #1 overall in 2017 IMO. I just hope he can help make the U relevant on a national stage again first though. He was surrounded by a ton of offensive weapons last year that left, going to really be able to show what he's made of when he doesn't have Duke, Clive, and Dorsett around him. It should be noted that he was a true freshmen last year so it is very understandable that he was inconsistent and had questionable decision making skills at times.
  8. Actually, I hardly ever see him mentioned at all, let alone someone saying they think he's going to be very good. Usually when he's brought up there are two responses: First, I hate USC QBs. Second, He doesn't have the arm strength. I have not seen a single person, besides myself, say they think he is going to be a very good NFL QB. Maybe Yolo did at some point. Feel free to show me otherwise, I certainly could have missed them. I've been on his train since January 3rd on this site officially. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/174942-tank-part-2/ You're not going to find anyone saying anything good about him before that, believe, me, I just looked. Although I don't think he is going to be the first QB taken anymore, I still do think he is the best value and the best one we will have a shot at drafting. I've seen some people say that Jones is going the be the first overall pick in various places. It's not just in this board, it's from pundits, friends, articles, etc. I disagree at this point and clearly said it my first post "not yet at least." And if you go back to the start of this thread, it all started with a mock draft having him go to the Bills at 19 with many people saying he wouldn't last that long.
  9. Yes I did. It's been a while since I've seen either though, perhaps I got them mixed up. I know I hated one of them and thought the other was pretty good.
  10. It's funny you say this. It has been argued that these helmets are safer. Why? Well, because guys would be less likely to lead with their head if they were helmet less or used leather helmets. They say that the current helmets give players a false sense of security. I don't know how much I buy it, but that is what some say.
  11. Drink coasters are often pretty easy to find and cheap. They can come with scenic pictures of the area, sports teams, local breweries, art from art galleries in the area, etc. Usually come in sets of 4 with different pictures on them. Easy to display. I also like the pint glass idea. Personally, I do coffee mugs often if I can find ones I like because I actually use them every day.
  12. You know what they say about assumptions. I watch almost every OSU game every year. They are my second favorite team. But if you're telling me it wasn't Wisconsins game plan to stop Elliot when a third string QB was coming in to start his first game is crazy. Alabama is ALWAYS a stop the run first team and Oregon surely had that game plan as well after seeing what Elliot did to Wisconsin and Alabama. That is the point of what I was saying. There are a lot of big arm, big sized guys and I never said he wasn't one of them. I said he needs to show me more than one game of brilliance to convince me he's as good as people are trying to hype him.
  13. I see you guys are once again leaving out Cody Kessler. It's all good though, I'm going to have lots of threads to go back to and say "I told you so" in the coming years. Big arms are overrated, accuracy and decision making are key. I put him as my "best value" pick as I think he'll be a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year and have him 3rd behind Cook and Goff as my best prospects. Most overrated? I go with Jones and Hackenberg. Everyone knows about Hackenberg, but I think Jones is overrated too. The guy had one great game out of 3. He did not play well against Alabama and against Oregon he was just OK. Considering all 3 of those teams were trying to stop the unstoppable Elliot who racked up over 200 yards in each of those games, his numbers should have been more impressive IMO. The guy plays 3 games, only 1 of the a great game, and all of the sudden he's a first round pick? I don't buy it, not yet at least.
  14. That's a very interesting point that I have never really considered. Makes perfect sense.
  15. I agree with every thing you said in this post. The fact of the matter is, that if you went back about 2000 when X-Men came out and superhero movies really started to take off, there has been an average of roughly one good one per year. 2000 - X-Men 2001 - None 2002 - Spider-Man 2003 - None - X2 was just OK IMO 2004 - Hellboy 2005 - Batman Begins 2006 - V for Vendetta, XMen Last Stand 2007 - None 2008 - Iron Man, The Dark Knight 2009 - Watchmen 2010 - Kick-Ass 2011 - Thor, Captain America 2012 - The Avengers, Dark Knight Rises 2013 - Iron Man 3 2014 - Guardians of the Galaxy 2015 - Maybe Ant-Man, haven't seen it yet. That's right around 1 per year. The rest of them were either terrible or just m'eh.
  16. Superhero movies have Jumped the Shark. They were cool when there was about one coming out per year. But now it's like 6 of them a year, reboots of franchises that are less than 10 years old, repetitive story lines, horrific acting, and the same formula...spend entire budget on special effects and marketing, screw a storyline and good actors.
  17. That's amazing, I've got the same combination on my luggage.
  18. Takes two to tango my friend. If they offered anything, I'm sure Whaley would consider it very seriously.
  19. It's not legal to drive under the influence of it anywhere. So it would still compound it.
  20. I don't care if they are on national TV ever. I prefer our own broadcasts, just sucks for you out of town fans without an NHL package though. But it is weird though how we were on so much last season in an obvious tanking position and are on less than half the number of times with an exciting, young, much improved (hopefully) squad with one of the best US born rookies in a long while (Kane?).
