  1. The word "microfracture" really, really scares me. It is almost always associated with a less than 100% return to health and what makes Jack special is his explosiveness. Tough, tough call.
  2. I could see one of the teams in black. Since the Jets were green last year and they already have an all white I'm predicting they go black and the Bills go Blue. I think the Bills blue will be more old school blue that the darker shade it is now. A medium blue.
  3. Nice job Mr. P. I got Jerry taking Elliot though, Bosa would just make too much sense for him.
  4. Yep, this is the key. It doesn't matter if he cheated or not, what the evidence was or whatever. All that matters is the what the CBA says and the authority it gives the Commissioner. Unless the CBA violates federal or state law, there is nothing that can be done here. How the original judge could have ruled any different is baffling to me.
  5. Yeah, but the poster I was responding to said if he played at FSU for 3 years he might be the #1 overall pick, that was what I was pointing to as to why I disagree completely with that statement.
  6. You were probably one of the guys saying he would be an overall #1 pick this year (or first round pick) after the National Championship Game too, weren't you? How is that working out? Lynch, Wentz, Goff all have better accuracy, quicker releases and what seem to be better decision making abilities. People keep wanting to overstate the impact of arm strength in the NFL, but accuracy is the most important trait of the great QBs, not arm strength. And his athleticism is not going to transition well to the NFL, he is not that fast. He only ran a 4.81, Newton ran a 4.59. Huge difference when getting chased down by DEnds and Linebackers.
  7. I didn't miss the point on it. I said 5th or later on him is where I would be comfortable with the Bills taking him. We could easily get starters in rounds 1-3 and round 4 could be great depth. A QB that needs that much work (in my opinion) shouldn't trump those. I whole heartedly disagree with that latter statement though. People were saying the exact same thing about him going in to last season and he didn't play well at all.
  8. No, those throws would be "pickies." In the NFL you have to be picky with your QB. Isn't that obvious? Tighter coverages, better schemes, faster closing times, etc. He was underthrowing guys who were open by 3-5 yards over and over again. You are delusional if you think he meant to throw a 45 yard back shoulder throw. Those throws are 20 yard throws on a rope when guys do it, not 45-50 yard underthrown bombs. Come on man. This was just the first video I found and in the whole video he had 1 good throw in stride. 1. It was the same story throughout those games and last season. Thus, the demotion. I'm sure I could find numerous other videos showing the same thing but I don't feel like wasting the time, especially to someone who tries to justify those throws.
  9. Really? Watch these highlights and tell me if you feel the same. 0:34 - Underthrown and most likely picked or at least broken up in NFL 0:41 - inaccurate 10 yard high throw to guy who is standing wide open. 0:59 - Underthrown and most likely picked or at least broken up in NFL 1:34 - Underthrown again to a wide open guy 3:10 - WR has to slow down again to catch ball after DB falls down And this is the HIGHLIGHT reel. Tyrod hits those deep balls in stride consistently.
  10. Cam Newton also completely dominated JuCo ball and had a much better performance in his one season than Cardale did. Cardale is a big time arm and that's about it at this point. I've been saying this ever since he won the National Championship and people were declaring him a future #1 overall pick. Anyone who watched those games carefully should have seen a guy that took advantage of defenses trying to stop Elliot from running all over them (which he did anyway). Cardale was just launching the ball to wide open guys or one on one coverage and the WRs were making great catches. All the big plays exaggerated his stats. He did not show great accuracy or great decision making, he just chucked it a lot. Add on to that the fact that he will not be able to run even close to as much against NFL defenses and, to me, he is a wasted pick before the 5th. And this is coming from an OSU fan.
  11. Carson Wentz : Eagles Jared Goff : Rams Ezekiel Elliot : Cowboys Laquon Treadwell : Vikings Paxton Lynch : Jets Bills Pick (bonus) : Reed
  12. Actually, most hiring professionals consider past performance the best predictor of future performance...just saying.
  13. You will see comments like that, but no one ever mentions the possibility that maybe he would have been even better here. It's impossible to know either way, but it's just funny to me how almost everyone around here just always assumes the negative outcomes and never even considers the flip side of it making his stellar career even better. The chain of events that followed would have been completely different and anything could have happened.
  14. Old metric proves Bills one of the worst teams a drafting .... our W-L record over the past 16 years and 0 playoff appearances! No need to overthink it, that's all the evidence you need right there.
  15. Also, don't forget we traded up to get Losman, giving up our next years 1st round pick. That year was the one where Rodgers tumbled through the first round, breezing right past pick #20 where we could have been picking. Double ouch.
  16. 1. Treadwell, Ragland, Spence 2. Nkemdiche 3. Ramsey and Jack but I don't think there is any chance they fall out of top 10, we would have to get in top 5 most likely...scary to think what that would cost. I think Ramsey will be an elite S.
  17. Who cares who is better? They are both the best CBs we've had in a long time and I just hope we can keep them together for a while. LT saying he's going to get 8 picks though? He's more of a break-up passes guy than a picks guy.
  18. I am waiting for someone to intentionally release a bizarre story or decision on April 1st that is actually true. Then no one will believe them and call it out as a prank, when it's actually true, thus now becoming the joke.
  19. Unfortunately, reality is a bit different than mock drafts and simulations. The fact of the matter is that when you have the pick of the litter, no matter how big and similar that litter may seem, you have a much smaller chance of getting the runt than you do after 4 or 5 of them have already been selected. There may seem to be a lot of depth at LB, there may seem to be a lot of similar guys, but time will show that there will be vastly different careers for all of them. I want the best shot at getting most impactful guy, and that comes in round 1. Now, obviously if your 1st round talent guys are gone you move on and don't reach, but if a LB is there and we like him, snag him up. It seems that people are more into drafting pass rushing Dline. I would venture to guess that teams have a lot more success drafting MLB in the late teens of the first round than they do with pass rushers. Just a hunch but I feel like LB has been a pretty safe mid first round pick whereas the best pass rushers come from the top mostly and then from all over the place in the draft. And I feel like there are tons of mid / late first round dlineman busts, but not as many LB busts drafted there. Again, just a hunch on it without any real research.
  20. Advances in selective genetics is going to be the next game changer. People will be trying to breed athletes manipulating DNA and genetics. There will be significant changes to athletes in the next generation or two IMO.
  21. I don't understand how anyone can look at our team and not see LB as the most glaring area of need for this team. Whether it's ILB or a pass rushing OLB, we need big time help at both. LBs are the heart and soul of any defense and historically all great defenses had at least 1 tremendous LB leading that D. We don't have any who are even close. We need to find that leader on D, Brown doesn't seem to be the answer. We already have 2 great pass rushers if utilized properly in Dareus and Hughes. When watching Bama games this year I was always noticing Ragland making plays sideline to sideline and being that on-field leader. With all the talent on that defense and still being able to easily notice Ragland as sticking out as a great player, I have confidence that he can become a very effective player and leader for any defense.
  22. One of the most overrated QBs of all time IMO. Had a few great seasons, but really only started for 8 seasons, that's it.
  23. Yay....let's be negative all the time so if we stink, well, at least I'm right, and if we are great then I'll be happy to hear that I was wrong. What a great way to go through life.
  24. If this is the murder weapon, and I am pretty skeptical at this point, what the heck were the investigators doing during the investigation that they couldn't find it on his property? Are you telling me they wouldn't have looked for signs of something being buried on the property and/or used some metal detectors to thoroughly look for this weapon? I mean, the guys was a celebrity icon at the time. You would have thought they would have done their due diligence, but I guess the results of the trial speak to that.
