  1. Great pick considering what we have already done. I could not imagine a better draft scenario than what has played out for us.
  2. Been saying this exact thing in other threads. To me, it was quite obvious Cook was not a top QB prospect. A no show in big games, low completion percentage, not even named a Captain of his own team in college even though he was a 3 year starter at a vital position...all huge red flags to me. Sure, he dominated some crap teams but he rarely did anything against his best competition and unlike Hackenberg he had an offensive line protecting him. I've been on Kessler since last summer. I think he is the most underrated QB in the class. High 60s completion % each year, great TD/Int ratios, tremendous accuracy. A lot of people put too much emphasis on arm strength around here when accuracy is more important than arm strength in the NFL. I must say though, I am surprised and disappointed he went this early. Great pick by the Browns.
  3. To anyone in this thread who says they hate this pick....I would love to agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.
  4. Here is what I think about it. Wasted pick and even worse if we trade up for him. I challenge anyone to find me a current top level franchise QB that didn't have a higher than 60% completion rate in college. I can't find any.
  5. Unfortunately no one matches up with Gronk. Especially not day 2 and beyond guys. Beat me to it.
  6. Cook is extremely inconsistent, disappears in the biggest games, and was rumored to be hated by teammates (I mean, one of the top college QBs that was a 3 year starter and still not a Captain? That says a lot to me). Add to that his completion percentage was below 60% (and regressed to 56.1% last year) and you have all the makings of a clipboard holder for his entire career. I don't know how anyone can see it any different. I would be pretty upset if he was our pick. But hey, he's looked great against powerhouses like Indiana and Rutgers so what do I know, right?
  7. Agreed. I have a round 1 rule of thumb. If I've watched their team play a couple games and I never noticed that player (besides offensive lineman), then he's not going to be a very effective NFL player. I've watched a number of Georgia games and not once did Floyd stick out to me at all. Bad pick IMO especially trading up for him.
  8. Damn, who called this all the back in July...this guy.
  9. Well, Doug certainly has shown his willingness to do the same in the past.
  10. Don't sleep on Mackensie Alexander here. Forget about the obvious Clemson connection for a moment. This guys is a great 3rd CB to me. He is a tremendous man to man guy. He allowed zero man to man touchdowns all last season. Zero. And allowed only 19 receptions for 258 yards on 58 targets. That's amazing. Imagine what a defense could do with not 1, not 2, but 3 CBS who could handle their business with one on one man coverage. Would open up so many blitz options. If he's there, I think they will seriously consider it and I hope they do.
  11. Not only does he lack speed and quickness but I doubt his power game will translate to the NFL as well. It's a lot easier to bowl over or run through arm tackles of NCAA kids than it is to do that same thing to NFL men. If you watched a lot of Alabama games you would see that much of his yardage came from gaining the edge and taking it down the sideline for 10-20 yards. That isn't happening in the NFL for him. Average NFL back at best IMO, but I think he is a short yardage guy when all is said and done. No thanks.
  12. Roberto Aguayo K FSU and I'm dead serious.
  13. Fox Sports Live is tremendous. The guys are hilarious and they actually spend most of the show doing highlights of all sports. It is how SportsCenter used to be and it blows away the current SportsCenter format of about 10 minutes of highlights per 60 minute show and then 50 minutes of analysis of 3 or 4 games.
  14. The word "microfracture" really, really scares me. It is almost always associated with a less than 100% return to health and what makes Jack special is his explosiveness. Tough, tough call.
  15. I could see one of the teams in black. Since the Jets were green last year and they already have an all white I'm predicting they go black and the Bills go Blue. I think the Bills blue will be more old school blue that the darker shade it is now. A medium blue.
  16. Love Gus. Definitely brings life to the game.
  17. Nice job Mr. P. I got Jerry taking Elliot though, Bosa would just make too much sense for him.
  18. Yep, this is the key. It doesn't matter if he cheated or not, what the evidence was or whatever. All that matters is the what the CBA says and the authority it gives the Commissioner. Unless the CBA violates federal or state law, there is nothing that can be done here. How the original judge could have ruled any different is baffling to me.
  19. Yeah, but the poster I was responding to said if he played at FSU for 3 years he might be the #1 overall pick, that was what I was pointing to as to why I disagree completely with that statement.
  20. You were probably one of the guys saying he would be an overall #1 pick this year (or first round pick) after the National Championship Game too, weren't you? How is that working out? Lynch, Wentz, Goff all have better accuracy, quicker releases and what seem to be better decision making abilities. People keep wanting to overstate the impact of arm strength in the NFL, but accuracy is the most important trait of the great QBs, not arm strength. And his athleticism is not going to transition well to the NFL, he is not that fast. He only ran a 4.81, Newton ran a 4.59. Huge difference when getting chased down by DEnds and Linebackers.
  21. I didn't miss the point on it. I said 5th or later on him is where I would be comfortable with the Bills taking him. We could easily get starters in rounds 1-3 and round 4 could be great depth. A QB that needs that much work (in my opinion) shouldn't trump those. I whole heartedly disagree with that latter statement though. People were saying the exact same thing about him going in to last season and he didn't play well at all.
  22. No, those throws would be "pickies." In the NFL you have to be picky with your QB. Isn't that obvious? Tighter coverages, better schemes, faster closing times, etc. He was underthrowing guys who were open by 3-5 yards over and over again. You are delusional if you think he meant to throw a 45 yard back shoulder throw. Those throws are 20 yard throws on a rope when guys do it, not 45-50 yard underthrown bombs. Come on man. This was just the first video I found and in the whole video he had 1 good throw in stride. 1. It was the same story throughout those games and last season. Thus, the demotion. I'm sure I could find numerous other videos showing the same thing but I don't feel like wasting the time, especially to someone who tries to justify those throws.
  23. Really? Watch these highlights and tell me if you feel the same. 0:34 - Underthrown and most likely picked or at least broken up in NFL 0:41 - inaccurate 10 yard high throw to guy who is standing wide open. 0:59 - Underthrown and most likely picked or at least broken up in NFL 1:34 - Underthrown again to a wide open guy 3:10 - WR has to slow down again to catch ball after DB falls down And this is the HIGHLIGHT reel. Tyrod hits those deep balls in stride consistently.
  24. Cam Newton also completely dominated JuCo ball and had a much better performance in his one season than Cardale did. Cardale is a big time arm and that's about it at this point. I've been saying this ever since he won the National Championship and people were declaring him a future #1 overall pick. Anyone who watched those games carefully should have seen a guy that took advantage of defenses trying to stop Elliot from running all over them (which he did anyway). Cardale was just launching the ball to wide open guys or one on one coverage and the WRs were making great catches. All the big plays exaggerated his stats. He did not show great accuracy or great decision making, he just chucked it a lot. Add on to that the fact that he will not be able to run even close to as much against NFL defenses and, to me, he is a wasted pick before the 5th. And this is coming from an OSU fan.
  25. Carson Wentz : Eagles Jared Goff : Rams Ezekiel Elliot : Cowboys Laquon Treadwell : Vikings Paxton Lynch : Jets Bills Pick (bonus) : Reed
