  1. Your story gave me chills. Sorry for your loss.
  2. EJ also brought us back and got us the lead in that game. He could have completely melted down after that set of disastrous plays in the first half. But, instead he re-grouped gathered himself and came out balling in the second half. That shows me a lot and it amazes me how so many people overlook it.
  3. Clayton is the worst "insider" on any network / site. He never offers any fresh insight on anything but just states the obvious. He seems to have little to no sources as well. I often feel that I could make any of his same reports from the top of my head.
  4. Man, didn't realize that Darby was that fast.
  5. Unfortunately they are using Virtual Boys.
  6. If you do the math properly it doesn't matter if you are paying taxes on it now or paying taxes on it later. It's a wash and really just personal preference. I prefer the Roth since I have already paid tax on it and know exactly what I will be getting later. Provides a bit more visibility into the future for my liking. But money wise, it is the exact same amount of tax either way. Believe me, I've meticulously compared them (assuming same tax rates now and later of course).
  7. When healthy he has just as much positive impact on our team as ANY other player. He is a phenomenal talent and if you can't see the difference between him and the vast majority of the other RBs in the league then you have simply convinced yourself that every RB is a dime a dozen and there is no convincing you otherwise. So, in short, I think he is worth it for sure.
  8. Exactly. As if people are expecting Cam Newton type prospects to be available in the 4th and Megatron to be available in the 6th. Some people just completely lack any sort of realistic perspective.
  9. Especially considering Aaron Rodgers was available when we should have picked in the first round of the next years draft.
  10. In short, no he cannot. Ray Lewis had everything Ragland has but was also quicker and faster. That is something you can never really get much better at. That speed is the difference between all-time great MLBs and good ones (Willis and Kuechly too). Ragland could be good, very good, but he's not going to be an all-time great.
  11. Great pick considering what we have already done. I could not imagine a better draft scenario than what has played out for us.
  12. Been saying this exact thing in other threads. To me, it was quite obvious Cook was not a top QB prospect. A no show in big games, low completion percentage, not even named a Captain of his own team in college even though he was a 3 year starter at a vital position...all huge red flags to me. Sure, he dominated some crap teams but he rarely did anything against his best competition and unlike Hackenberg he had an offensive line protecting him. I've been on Kessler since last summer. I think he is the most underrated QB in the class. High 60s completion % each year, great TD/Int ratios, tremendous accuracy. A lot of people put too much emphasis on arm strength around here when accuracy is more important than arm strength in the NFL. I must say though, I am surprised and disappointed he went this early. Great pick by the Browns.
  13. To anyone in this thread who says they hate this pick....I would love to agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.
  14. Here is what I think about it. Wasted pick and even worse if we trade up for him. I challenge anyone to find me a current top level franchise QB that didn't have a higher than 60% completion rate in college. I can't find any.
  15. Unfortunately no one matches up with Gronk. Especially not day 2 and beyond guys. Beat me to it.
  16. Cook is extremely inconsistent, disappears in the biggest games, and was rumored to be hated by teammates (I mean, one of the top college QBs that was a 3 year starter and still not a Captain? That says a lot to me). Add to that his completion percentage was below 60% (and regressed to 56.1% last year) and you have all the makings of a clipboard holder for his entire career. I don't know how anyone can see it any different. I would be pretty upset if he was our pick. But hey, he's looked great against powerhouses like Indiana and Rutgers so what do I know, right?
  17. Agreed. I have a round 1 rule of thumb. If I've watched their team play a couple games and I never noticed that player (besides offensive lineman), then he's not going to be a very effective NFL player. I've watched a number of Georgia games and not once did Floyd stick out to me at all. Bad pick IMO especially trading up for him.
  18. Well, Doug certainly has shown his willingness to do the same in the past.
  19. Don't sleep on Mackensie Alexander here. Forget about the obvious Clemson connection for a moment. This guys is a great 3rd CB to me. He is a tremendous man to man guy. He allowed zero man to man touchdowns all last season. Zero. And allowed only 19 receptions for 258 yards on 58 targets. That's amazing. Imagine what a defense could do with not 1, not 2, but 3 CBS who could handle their business with one on one man coverage. Would open up so many blitz options. If he's there, I think they will seriously consider it and I hope they do.
  20. Not only does he lack speed and quickness but I doubt his power game will translate to the NFL as well. It's a lot easier to bowl over or run through arm tackles of NCAA kids than it is to do that same thing to NFL men. If you watched a lot of Alabama games you would see that much of his yardage came from gaining the edge and taking it down the sideline for 10-20 yards. That isn't happening in the NFL for him. Average NFL back at best IMO, but I think he is a short yardage guy when all is said and done. No thanks.
  21. Fox Sports Live is tremendous. The guys are hilarious and they actually spend most of the show doing highlights of all sports. It is how SportsCenter used to be and it blows away the current SportsCenter format of about 10 minutes of highlights per 60 minute show and then 50 minutes of analysis of 3 or 4 games.
