George Washington on partisan political parties
Mark80 replied to ALF's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You missed the most prophetic part, IMO. "All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests" Now this is spot on, IMO. Political parties and the divides that they thrive off of are the culprit for many of today's issues. They allow money to have way too much influence in politics, they allow a very small group of influential leaders pretty much run everything, they promote strict party alliances instead of consensus and negotiation, they control who is on the ballets and conspire against candidates, and we are trapped by them. There is no reasonable alternative at this point. It's a shame. -
What Bands Would Be Worthy of a SB Half Time Appearance ??
Mark80 replied to T master's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The Stones '06 and The Who '10 have already done it. Yes -
The album that inspired Duane Allman to learn the slide guitar (in one day if you can believe that). I was hooked 30 seconds into the first song.

Why are you so sure we aren't a playoff team?
Mark80 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I love Watson and think he is going to be a very good QB, I don't expect it to be this year. Houston's offense is very vulnerable and they are 1 or 2 injuries away from having an ordinary defense. We should at least be excited about what we have seen so far. This team may just claw their way into the hunt in December. And NE defense? Don't tell me we have no chance of beating them once. -
Halle Berry proves there's hope for us schlubs
Mark80 replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The Beach Boys went downhill fast when Wilson lost his mind. Pet Sounds and then pretty much done. And Pet Sounds was probably just before he tripped just a bit too hard and lost it. Almost everything after Pet Sounds was crap IMO. -
I disagree. Our defense deserved to win. And if it was that one call from the refs that we needed them to make to put us in position, or the one outstanding catch we needed, well, that's what we needed and it is the officials job to call a blatant face mask in open field, especially when they are calling iffy offensive pass interference calls on the same drive.

What's the stupidest thing you ever bought?
Mark80 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I remember playing that POS as a kid. Had absolutely no idea what to do. So frustrating. Apparently, though, the game was actually well ahead of its time and not that bad, they just provided no instruction at all on what the heck you were supposed to do, or a map of the "3d" world to navigate it properly so everyone go too confused. Saw an interesting documentary on it a year or so ago. -

That purchase doesn't seem pointless, that would be a great car to have around if you aren't making any more payments on it (i'm sure from 2010). What was stupid was two major accidents to ruin it. -
Those %&*! Refs- Week 1
Mark80 replied to BringMetheHeadofLeonLett's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, because the refs did nothing wrong last year against Seattle. Have definitely seen that called before in games. Maybe they are actively looking for it more this year though. To get 2 in one game is rare for sure. -
Lot of Bad teams in the NFL Bills are not one of them
Mark80 replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who are the Pathers? -
Nothing more frustrating than losing games because of penalties. Glad we are off to a good start here. Hopefully it continues to trend down. I also saw more urgency in the 2 minute drill which was nice and I'm sure we will see smarter TO and challenge use when applicable, didn't need it last game.

Wow, that's it? Surprising.

Your ONE prediction about this season

Our pick is 10-19. KCs pick is 20-32. In perfect Bills fashion. -
If the Colts really suck, would they trade Luck to Buffalo?
Mark80 replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, that is what I am saying, so the Bills would be off the hook for that money if we traded for him. I thought that poster was saying it was a hurdle to the Bills getting him, not that it was a hurdle for the Colts dealing him. -

Mark80 replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe the team trading him takes on a good portion of the cap hit because of the guaranteed money. Not positive though. -

I don't know. If I were the Colts I would be thoroughly unimpressed with what I have got from Luck to date compared to what I thought I was going to get. Has really only had one outstanding season so far. He is coming off shoulder issues. He has only reached 1 AFC Championship game. Has a starting record of 10-12 the last two seasons with no playoffs. Now, granted, he is still ONLY 27. A lot of prime years left. But, If I can get multiple first round picks (I'm thinking 3 one of which is top 2 or 3 to guarantee you get one of the QBs you want) and maybe a 2 and a 3, I'm heavily considering moving him. You mention the cap savings, you get what would be a highly touted QB prospect, and then you get to fill so many holes with those extra picks. A smart GM trades those picks for even more picks. Now, you are building a potential dynasty, not a roster solely dependent on a heroic performance by a QB who hasn't been able to do it as of late. -
Unfortunately for you, Michael, I know you from HS and can guarantee my level if idiocy pales in comparison to yours.

https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_upgrade_20tfsi_long.html thats 40-45. adding a K&N filter adds another 2-3. Took liberties on the extra 2-5 HP. Sorry. I cannot comment on others driver techniques, all I can tell you is that I was at lights with newer S4s on numerous occasions and my 3-5 year old A4 kept up with them 0 up to around 60 when I would back off every single time. I was driving manual as well so that could have helped vs auto. I did happen to get next to a rare RS4 once, it completely smoked me. Also was able to keep pace with Speed3, WRX, 335 that I can remember for certain. Spend around $10k on an A4 and you can basically make it an RS4. Again, finding a great shop is key to making this work. I'm assuming it's pretty similar with the 3 class.

Had an 07 A4. A few things to note: Had terrible brake dust problem always getting on my rims with factory brakes. Bought ceramic ones and the problem stopped and never had to buy breaks again. If you have the 2.0T, then there are quite a few tuning options out there that can raise your HP by about 50 for less than $500. It is well worth it, but does carry some risk so make sure to research quality ones with great reviews. I was able to easily keep up with any S4 after the reprogramming.

Canes fan, watch lots of games. This guy is not a good QB. Never was. He just looks the part and has an arm. He is not worth the effort or roster spot.

National Anthem (Cameron Jefferson)
Mark80 replied to bmur66's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
People want to say protesting the National Anthem is disrespectful and not the right place or time - But a big part of our Constitution is about freedom of speech and other Bill of RIghts protections for things just like this. People want to say you are offending the military and their sacrifice - Really? That's offensive? How about the atrocity that is the VA, the number of homeless vets, the mental conditions that go untreated, the minimal pay they receive unless they rise in the ranks? People care about the military when others are watching, but don't give a crap about what actually matters, making sure they are taken care of in their everyday lives. People say they want to create attention for themselves - Yeah, how is that working out for Kaep? These guys are knowingly putting their livelihoods on the line for something they believe in, when is the last time you did that? Would I protest it, no. But am I going to chastise someone who does, nope. -

THE big problem for the Bills QB situation is...
Mark80 replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Holy adverbs. So basically the entire post is this. Let's sign a QB that is familiar with the offense to help us practice better. Interesting. -
McCoy is getting trolled hard over Kaepernick comments
Mark80 replied to BillsFan692's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shady summed up the situation perfectly. So refreshing to see a black man come out and say it like it is, he just is not good enough. I find it so funny how none of the national reports on Kaepernick even mention how bad of a QB he has been the last few years. They call him a former SB QB and viewers infer that he is like a top 10 or 15 QB in the league. There are plenty of guys playing that kneeled last season. The difference is, they can actually contribute to the team enough where any potential headache from their protest is outweighed by their talents. That does not exist with Kaep. He is just not that good. Plain and simple. Most of the idiots protesting outside the NFL office have little to no knowledge of NFL talent from what I've seen.
