  1. Looks on its face like it would be a $10M penalty and $16M savings if they did that. I wouldn't say that's a for sure 2 years.
  2. He is terrible. I wouldn't spend any draft capital on trading for any bridge or backup QB. Sign one in FA or just go with the rookie and Peterman. Worst case scenario, we have great picks next year to build around that rookie.
  3. Gotta be our 2nd pick after QB. Just has to be. Was our weakest unit IMO last year.
  4. Notice how everyone against this has less than 1000 posts. Don't think that is coincidence.
  5. Matt Moore and this plan makes sense. However, the best case scenario is we draft a QB and that QB shows up and is clearly the best QB on the roster from day 1 and he starts immediately.
  6. Smith to Mahomes just last year. By all accounts he took him under his wing immediately, even though he clearly saw the writing on the wall. Beat me to it.
  7. Tell that to Alabama after he destroyed their NFL talent laden defense 2 years in a row.
  8. Been on the Mayfield train since last year. Went into this season saying I cannot understand why this guy is so underrated. Then he completely blows up. No way I'm jumping off now.
  9. This wouldn't be as surprising as them actually picking at 12. But I still think they move up more.
  10. Sorry, but I disagree with this. The NFL is full of stupid people making stupid decisions all over the place with countless careers being built on nepotism alone. And there are some very knowledgeable posters on this site.
  11. Who can throw in the snow and bitter cold? Pretty much every NFL caliber QB there is.
  12. Exactly. I haven't noticed him in 2 years. Scratch that, I notice him when he's getting 15 yard penalties.
  13. Only measure of success is a SB title IMO. So, no.
  14. I would rather have a manager like Rex. But one like Marone would get more out of me, if that makes sense.
  15. What made that worse was that he was coming off a shoulder injury at Oklahoma too, and they still did it.
  16. Watched a few of their games this season, including their bowl game. This guy was flying all over the field making plays all game, every game. At first I knew nothing about him, but I remember I kept saying to myself "there is the guy with one hand again" and again and again and again. Amazing. Seemed like every time the D made a good play, he was a part of it. This is a kid I would be proud to have represent our franchise. Unfortunately, I think his stock is rising. It's gone from whether he will be drafted at all to now I wouldn't be surprised if someone snagged him in the 3rd.
  17. Because they can sell now and get the highest possible return for him via a trade or they can hold on to him for one year and, most likely, be left with nothing to show for it after the 2018 season.
  18. Lamar has progressed quite nicely as a QB over the last two seasons. The difference in his pocket awareness and footwork from last year to this year was shocking to me. I think he may be a lot more "ready" than people are giving him credit for, especially if he can make another leap forward this off-season like he did the last one. This kid clearly works hard at making himself a better QB in all respects and he has really grown on me over the course of this season. I've got him third behind Mayfield and then Darnold for who I would want.
  19. Rudolph reminds me of Mettenberger. Strong arm QB that was made to look a lot better than he actually is by having 2 high quality, NFL level WRs to throw to. But he is not NFL good himself. He will not amount to much in the NFL, book it.
  20. You guys may want to prepare yourself for this team giving Tyrod a few more years. He has the exact type of character the management wants and his performance on the field is not that bad (despite most around here only looking at Passing yards as the measuring stick for success). We can also get him a lot cheaper than other options. At this point, I suspect we will be building around Tyrod, not looking to replace him immediately. I would be shocked if we made a push at a FA QB or traded to get to the top of the draft for a blue chipper.
