I Bet $5,000 on Minnesota. Should I Be Worried?
Mark80 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never bet on a spread over 10 points in the NFL. Never. I would have done it with the money line though. -
Would I? Definitely if he really made the team better and I was trying to win now.

I could not care less if we sign him or Colin or anyone. I'm just telling you the fact of what the law is my friend.

That is only true in some states. Most states, these days, are known as "just cause" states or have other exceptions where you can't get fired for things like that any longer. "Employment at Will" states as you describe are becoming more and more sparse.

There is no Constitutional right of freedom of speech in the workplace. It is well settled Constitutional law that it is not protected. FYI. And you obviously have no legal training whatsoever, so please move along.

That's probably a vast exaggeration. But I'm sure there have been some. I've always said it should be preponderance of the evidence for Civil, without a reasonable doubt for Criminal, and no f'n way it could be anything other than this person for Death. It just needs to have a higher burden of proof in other words. -
Fumble or Out of Bounds?

What was funny is that the announcers had no idea this was the case until the rules guy came on and told them. I was screaming, hey idiots, it doesn't matter if he lost he ball before he went out or not, he clearly touched it while out, end of story. How do they hire such idiots in the booth? -
Pay off any and all debts, invest the rest, retire by 50 at the latest.

I prefer "The Bear" but I like where your heads at. By far the best 3 Stones albums when he was in the group IMO. My all-time favorite solo. Duane coming in at 1:08 and then Dickey at 2:39. Now, Dickey Betts is great for sure, but to me he just didn't compare to the smoothness of Duane and I can certainly hear a big time difference just in this song alone. Duane's last song with them and also the first song Dickey sang. Quite the historic song. And this is pretty sick too. Another one who died way too soon, Mike Bloomfield.

Landry Jones signed with the 0-16 Browns this off-season. Puh-lease. -
Honestly, he just needs to improve his accuracy a little, not a ton just a little, and learn from mistakes on the field. Then he'll be pretty damn good. That is by no means a Herculean task and I am way more pleased with the direction of this team than most. This was never a 2 year project and everyone who matters in the organization realizes that and supports it, despite was some fans want to think.

Their biggest problem isn't their talent, it's the lack of communication. No way an NFL team should have so many guys running unblocked at the QB instantly. They are not recognizing assignments and executing on who should block whom. Guys are double teaming rushers and leaving guys completely unblocked. It's not like they are outnumbered or anything. This is happening on 4 and 5 man rushes. I think this is where Wood really excelled. Calling the line adjustments and making sure rushers were accounted for. And they are not fantastic blockers when engaged either, but they are adequate.

Calling It: I Guarantee A Win At Minnesota Sunday

Don't really think we have a great shot, but that -16.5 spread is very enticing. -

A salty ex-player who is in such high demand that he got a 1 year contract for $5M after leading the league in tackles and only 25 years old. I could not care less what he thinks. Talk to me when someone who matters says something. And sorry Aaron, no one else wanted to see you get paralyzed on the field either, so no one signed you. -

[Edited Title] Patrick Mahomes Looks Great

Is there going to be a new Mahomes thread every single week for the rest of his career? Just curious. Seems to me this has been discussed over and over and over and over and over and over again. -
Did Vontae Davis retire at halftime? Yes, yes he did!

They also showed that he gets injured every single season. Including this one already. -
Was that a free verse poem or something?

Sadly, McDermott is the wrong guy to develop his own guys

Don't really understand how hard this is to comprehend. AJ McCarron ain't crap. He's been in the league a whopping 4 years before this year, playing sparingly. What gives him the credentials to be such a great veteran presence to guide young QBs? Does just being in the league for 4 years qualify you for that? He was so good that no other teams wanted him really and we got him for the huge sum of $5M per year. Impressive. Peterman is a practice and Pre-Season superstar. Last season Tyrod was terrible. I'm sorry, he was. I don't care if he didn't throw any picks. You know what else he didn't throw? Touch downs! Peterman looked good in practice so they gave him a shot because they saw the obvious, Tyrod wasn't going to cut it. It was a disaster, so they went back to Tyrod as our best option. Then this season, it was blatantly obvious that he was the best of the bunch in the pre-season games. How could you not roll with him based on that performance? How could you keep the room by saying it was an open QB competition, but then you chose Allen over Peterman even though he was clearly better on the field in games? Peterman got another shot, blew it again and was replaced, most likely for good this time. Peterman earned the chance, didn't deliver. Now we move on to Allen and see what we got, maybe a bit before they are 100% comfortable doing so, but the realization that Peterman just doesn't get it in "real" speed came quick and the decision to change was decisive. It's really not that complicated at all folks.
