  1. I've lived in Pittsburgh. Outside of the downtown area it is a complete S'hole. Abandoned industry everywhere, crappy little rust belt towns surrounding it. It's like the Black Rock area of Buffalo, but it is the entire area, not just a little section. Of all the places I've lived or spent considerable of time in, it was by far the worst. Plus, with all the valleys and bridges it takes forever to get anywhere and traffic gets backed up everywhere too. F Pittsburgh.
  2. My favorite scene in the movie. Any time I watch it, I watch that scene at least twice in a row. This is not true at all. It varies by state, but in a lot of states employers can do anything they want as long as they are not discriminating against a protected class. Just looked it up and it looks like 29 states + DC prohibit employers from doing it, but the other 21 do not.
  3. I don't know. When someone goes to the media or some network to potentially capitalize on the situation rather than going to the police, it always makes me a bit suspect of their motives and, in turn, their stories. He is no doubt, an easy target. Fame, money, and a past. No one doubts their stories because of this. Maybe, just maybe, he is telling the truth.
  4. Isn't it Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo? Or with commas to help with pace...Buffalo buffalo, Buffalo buffalo buffalo, buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
  5. Well played sir. Well played. Been a while since I took the bait on this one.
  6. Our CB physical tomorrow from that Dwayne Allen visiting thread?
  7. Very true, but I have seen every other season at least 3 times and have read all the books except the first. Don't think I'm gonna pick up much more from them again!
  8. I don't see any cars in the left lanes getting covered in the first video, but the second video makes it look like there should be. Are these the same avalanche?
  9. Dude is slow though.
  10. I was starting to lose my excitement since it has been too long. Then I went and watched the previous season again a few weeks ago, and am back on board. The question is, can they live up to the hype?
  11. WTF did I just read?
  12. Allen is one of the best blocking TEs in the league. And he does have some catching skills. I remember him making some plays back at Clemson for sure.
  13. He certainly has been laid out a few times.
  14. When I was there, Hotel School had the highest drop out rates and the most flunked class at the university....Wines. People would take it thinking it was going to be fun and easy to learn about wine and drink samples. They were in for a big surprise when they didn't have the palate to distinguish types and notes.
  15. Getting pooped on by a bird is good luck. Happened to me once in Toronto walking into a Jays game. Saw an amazing game where Carlos Delgado won it in the bottom of the 9th with a walk off HR. Then went to second city and had a fantastic time, then went to some random blues / jazz bar that was phenomenal. After going back to the hotel and having another drink or two in my friends room I head off to bed. Less than 5 mins later there is a knock on the door. My friends friend that was a girl (not girlfriend) who I met just that day is at the door with a bottle of rum asking if I want to have a nitecap. Suffice to say the visit was not all about the drink. This is NOT the sort of thing that happens to me typically. I've been running under birds hoping to get pooped on again ever since.
  16. When I was there, most classes had a service available where you could pay to get the lecture notes. Also, most lecture PPT slides were available online. Finally, my major (ILR) was a lot of stuff repeated year after year after year in various classes. I mean, how many levels of Organizational Behavior classes do you really need? Same with Labor Law and Collective Bargaining classes. The 400 level classes were basically the same as the 100 and 200 level ones. Also, I never claimed to get high grades or anything. I had friends in the Engineering school who had 4.0+ GPAs. They worked way harder than I did and it was reflected in their grades. I was fine getting by with my High 2s Low 3s. Nah, I just learned at a young age how to manipulate schooling to make it as easy as possible. And, just because I crammed and learned things in one day, doesn't mean I retained it for more than that day or two!
  17. I went to Cornell. I passed classes that I attended less than 5 times and studied for maybe one day for mid terms and finals when they came up. I also took classes such as Gamelan where I got 3 credit hours and an easy A for playing gongs. I mean, our final project was a concert on a gorgeous May day in Ithaca sitting Indian style on one of the quads. I had great professors, I had bad professors. Some classes were tougher than others, but overall, if you were just concerned with passing with a decent GPA, you didn't really have to do much, at least I didn't. I imagine its not much different from most well run Universities. This is probably very true. I got into a much better law school than I should have based on my GPA. I'm sure this and a good LSAT were the reason.
  18. I think the consensus has been more like mid/late 1st or early 2nd.
  19. Someone mentioned Keb Mo a few posts ago. He does a lot of stuff with Taj. Love this little tune. Blues / Reggae / Zydeco sound. Also, check out Keb and Taj doing Corinna, f it, i'll just post that too (if i haven't already). I mean how can you go wrong with lyrics like "got a rainbow round my shoulder, shine like silver, baby look like klondike gold" Epitome of coolness.
  20. Front end load some deals. Get the talent as early money is more attractive and keep yourself set up nicely for the future. This is a win-win IMO. Also could re-sign some guys early, again with front loaded deals.
  21. Could never get through the last season of Deadwood. Tried at least 3 times. First season is amazing, second season was good, then it lost me.
  22. Some comedies / sitcoms: Freaks and Geaks War at Home Happy Endings The Grinder
  23. Just picked up some Counter Culture Coffee - Big Trouble. It's so good that it inspired me find this thread and post about it. Loving it. Other recent tries: Teasia Coffee - Ethiopia Yirgacheffe: to me, this kind of smells and taste like tea. Unique for sure. Not a daily drinker, but i make some like once a week. Jamaican Blue Mountain - got some 100% authentic (or so they claim), non-blend. It's good, no doubt, but it didn't blow me away or anything. I wouldn't buy myself, but getting as a gift is nice. I prefer the Counter Culture Coffee one over it.
  24. Looked like a totally different player this year than last year. That's scary to me. But then again, in 3/4/5 range, are you going to get much better?
