  1. While the whites are better in my opinion, it would be nice to see the reds once a year.
  2. Our best option at TE is a 4 WR set with CJ.
  3. I like the chants when one side of the stadium does one part and the other does the other part. 1/2 the stadium going "E" and then the other half replying "J" would be pretty sweet. It's done at a lot of college stadiums.
  4. I believe you are thinking of just a serviceable kicker or punter and are drastically underestimating the importance of the kicking game. Sure a kicker or punter would probably possess the kicking strength to handle the other's responsibilities, but an NFL kicker/punter possess accuracy which is what sets them apart from everyone else. Consistently hitting FG's over 40 yards and consistently punting the ball inside the 20 is the difference and those two skills win ball games. If it were an easy thing to do/learn, then teams would have certainly done it by now, but it's not. They obviously feel the sacrifice in one aspect of the game is not worth the reward of the extra roster spot. Same with the long snapper, accuracy, accuracy, accuracy. Most the these guys don't even block, rather just get in the way for a split second, it's a very difficult skill to master. And as the other poster mentioned, one bad snap could easily mean the game.
  5. Would have loved to check out the article, but every time I see an article is broken into more than 2 pages I don't read it out of principle. So annoying.
  6. Just wondering if the OP wanted us to tank last season for Geno Smith as well?
  7. I believe that it would be very difficult to legitimately argue that the NFC is not clearly the better conference at this point. The Pack, 49ers, Seahawks, Bears, Vikings, Giants, Redskins, Cowboys all seem to be very strong teams each of which could make a nice run. However, to me the Contenders in AFC paint a much different picture: Dolphins - I'm not sold at all on Tanny and believe that they severely overpaid for their FA purchases this off season. While a strong defense will keep them in a playoff spot hunt, they are by no means a powerhouse. Pats - Yes, they still have Tommy Boy, but the hits that they took at the WR/TE spots are certainly going to have some impact. Not nearly as intimidating as they were the last 5+ years to me. Baltimore - Is it even possible to lose more impact players from your team in one off season? Flacco and Rice are going to have to carry a depleted defense which lost not only significant talent, but invaluable leadership in Ray Ray and Ed Reed. A tough hill to climb for sure. Cincy - I'm sorry, but Dalton just doesn't have what it takes to be a great QB. Can't see him amounting to anything more than a Wild Card type QB. Pittsburgh - It seems that the wear and tear for Big Ben's style of play is catching up to him in recent years. Injury issues, decreased production, and lost targets should hurt them. Also, their defense has simply looked old as of late. Indy - A rare team on the rise in the AFC. Luck is legit and will be an issue to deal with for years to come. Texans - Matt Schaub simply is not getting it done. All you have to do is look at all of the talent on this team on both sides of the ball, yet they still don't make a run in the playoffs. No Super Bowl this year and I'm willing to bet they are seeking a QB in the offseason. Denver - The pre-season favorite is already dealing with the possible loss of Miller for a few games, starting Center out for the season, and a nagging high ankle sprain on one of their better CBs. Not a good start to the season, but still the clear AFC favorite in my mind. However, they are one big hit to Peyton away from being pretty much irrelevant. Kansas City - I look at it this way, if Alex Smith and Andy Reid were such valuable commodities, then they would still be in SF and PHI respectively. I'm not buying what they are selling. Seems to me the window for the Bills is opening more and more in the AFC with every passing day. It may not be this year, but the future is looking bright. In fact, the Earth may completely shift on its axis as I feel like the Browns have one of the bigger upsides in the AFC as well. Starting to feel like the mid-late 80s.
  8. Says the guy who uses Avenged Sevenfold as his user name. Metal Rules! Ha!
  9. Hum, I liked it. Also liked the Goodwin, Woods, Alanso, and Gilmore one from last year.
  10. I like this one better. I even started liking that terrible song by the end of it! http://youtu.be/QYRCkpnnlIs
  11. Mario Williams never was and never will be a leader on this team. He is a quite, soft spoken man who is paid to do one thing, disrupt the passing game. I don't care if he doesn't practice a single down in training camp as long as he's ready to go week 1. He doesn't need the practice, he needs a healthy body. I think that you guessing he's a head case has absolutely zero basis on fact.
  12. Not a Bills one, but I've always enjoyed "Wilfork for Food"
  13. You are absolutely incorrect here man. These Universities, through the NCAA, conspired to keep the wages (i.e. scholarships and modest allowance) to their money making machines limited, not at what the market would allow in a free system. Since there is no other real alternative for these "employees" to get paid for their services, since they are banned from the NFL, it is a clear violation of their right to work, earn money, earn a living, while the Universities, the apparel companies, TV and news outlets, profit hand over fist over their work.
  14. It's about time. I look at it like this. NCAA is nothing more than an illegal monopoly over football for players between HS and 3 years out. They illegally restrict the ability of these adults to make a living which is in direct conflict with every Americans "unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Since most of these schools are Public University, the denial of these rights are even more intrusive then say if it were done by a private company. Free market place, fellas. These schools and these athletes should be able to do whatever they want.
  15. It's definitely nice to get a different conversation going around here, no doubt. On the Jets front, if you actually watch Geno Smith highlights (not to mention complete games) you will easily see that most of his yardage and big plays came from short screens and shuffle passes to his array of nasty weapons. His attitude, leadership qualities, aloofness, and misleading numbers led me to believe that he is just the continuation of the debacle that has become the Jets, and I love it. Way back when, when Geno skipped the Senior Bowl I mentioned in that thread that he is really only a 50/50 shot at being a first rounder and that it was a mistake to skip the Bowl. Plenty of posters claimed I was nuts at that time and that he was a lock to go in the first, if not first overall. Well, we all know how that played out. So, don't worry about being called nuts or crazy, maybe you'll be able to smirk when it's all over as well!
  16. Even though a game hasn't been played and training camp isn't even open yet, I have a feeling that he won't be considered our best receiver for long. Still love him though, he's going to be one of the best #2 WRs in the league.
  17. Well, you can start with Hill in week 3. 5/113/1. Who, exactly, is going to be throwing him these balls? Sanchez? Smith? Namath? No freaking way. Take out the week one travesty last season and Hill has exactly 16 receptions for 163 yards and 1 TD in his CAREER! Torrey Smith 100+ yards and 2 TDs? I don't think so. I feel you (and the Ravens) severely underestimate the importance of Bolden). Mike Wallace will go down as one of the worst FA signings of the off season and he'll be lucky to get over 50 yards in either game. Tanny is no Big Ben on any level. You also have Antonio Brown going 9/110/1. Brown had exactly 0 100 yard games last season and 9 receptions would tie a career high for him. Crazy. Only 2 receivers will have a legitimate shot to break 100, AJ and Julio, I think only one of them does it. Of course, some other receiver could, but you're listing 4 over 100 yard games (and 5 if you include Julio). That's just nuts, sorry.
  18. So you're saying that Gilmore will be giving up 70 Receptions for 1100 yards and 12 TDs? I had to fill in some of my own numbers based on your predictions as you only predicted full numbers in 75% or so of the cases. I think you're way off and he's going to be much more "shut down" than you're projecting. I see more in the range of 50 Receptions for 750 and 4 TDs and a possible Pro Bowl nod.
  19. Don't be fooled. That is only because the Sabres are the only ones that have put out a somewhat decent product in the last 15 years. Make no mistake about it, when the Bills win again you will see just how much this is a football town. I mean seriously, just look how much we have supported this garbage over the last X number of years. If the Sabres continued to be terrible for 13+ years do you think they would still have the support that the Bills currently have? I don't.
  20. In the south USC is South Carolina. The other "USC" is Southern Cal or the Trojans. Took a while for me to get used to that when I lived in North Carolina for a spell.
  21. Byrd highlights plus that song, I was so excited...then I watched it. What a disappointing video. Could have been so much better. Like 5 of his 18 picks over and over again and not one of his 10 Forced Fumbles, 5 of his Recoveries, or his 2 TDs. Not to mention other big hits and deflections.
  22. Vince Wilfork and whoever he plays next to should be on the list. He's a one man wrecking crew.
