  1. Wasn't Aaron Curry and Mike Williams two of the "safest" players in their drafts as well? How did that go? Truthfully, I can sort of see Mack being a bit of a bust. Played pretty bad competition (including a very overrated Ohio State team last season). He didn't do anything against Baylor the next week who had a much better offense. I hope not, but I can see it. Overall, I think it's Barr though, followed by Brandin Cooks.
  2. I can't believe you wrote "I'm as big a Tom Brady fan as there is." You should be banned from these boards.
  3. I really think that FA has hurt football. Before FA, most of the better players were with the same team for the vast majority of their careers. Now you're lucky to get a guy to resign and if they do, it's for so much that you can't afford to keep your depth guys around. Therefore, you grow less of a connection with the players IMO. I'm at odds with this as well though, since the players should have every right to decided what team to play for and not be the "property" of the franchise. Forgot to answer the question though. For me 90s. Too young to remember most of the 80s and the bills have sucked this millenium. Best 10 years would be 88-97.
  4. Don't listen to these fellas calling you out over only throwing down $5. First rule of betting, don't bet more than you can afford to lose, especially on a long shot. You didn't. Good job. Hope you win!
  5. You had me until you started discussing Henderson. I'm sorry, but even though he has the physical tools to be a first round talent, he has never shown on the field that he can put it together and perform like a first round talent. He was never the dominate force the Hurricanes expected him to be when he signed with them. He was a constant disappointment. Add to that the character issues and I don't see anyway this guy becomes an effective NFL player. I noted this in his thread, every other player that dropped or did not get drafted in the past with character issues who had success in the NFL, were high impact players at the college level. Moss, Lewis, Honey Badger to name a few. The only one who fell and did not perform well in college that worked out (that I can think of at least) is Vontaze Burfect. I mean, how seriously is Henderson going to take his career if he can't even quit smoking the bud for a known upcoming drug test (combine) and the enormous impact he would (and did) feel from failing this test. You can't fix stupid.
  6. Can a WR change this team? Maybe, maybe not. But I can tell you that a top WR prospect, another solid WR, a very good young RB, significant OL improvements, a Middle LB who is actually a MLB with the size to help stop the run, another LB for the outside / depth, a very good nickle CB / or possibly Saftey can DEFINITELY change this team.
  7. Besides Burfect a couple years ago, when has a player ever fallen far in the draft that had off field issues AND below average play on the field that suddenly figures it out and becomes relevant on the NFL level? When players fall because of issues off the field and then have good NFL careers, they were pretty much always top performers in the college ranks. Honeybadger, Moss, Lewis, etc. I don't see anything in Seantrell that makes me think he can do anything at a high college level, much less the NFL. He won't make the squad.
  8. I agree on Mack. Solid player with decent career, but never elite like a top 5 LB should be.
  9. Now that the smoke has cleared a bit, go on record and say who you feel the biggest offensive and defensive busts will be in the draft. Remember to take into account where they were selected and by which team. Defense: Anthony Barr - #9 Overall - Minnesota Vikings - I was shocked by this pick. Thought they'd go Donald or CB for sure. He reminds me a bit of Dion Jordan and he didn't show anything on the field in his rookie campaign. Top 10 for Anthony was a big stretch in my opinion. Offense: Brandin Cooks - #20 Overall - New Orleans Saints - Small, very small receiver. 5'10, 190 listed, but he looks smaller than that to me. I think he has a very difficult time getting off the press coverages and it's recognized early. CBs seem to be getting more and more leeway when it comes to playing physical and I don't think Cooks will translate at all. Sure, he may benefit from his QB play, but he will clearly be targeted after Colston and Graham and will still be sharing balls with Stills, Meachum, Thomas. By the time he's high up on that depth chart, Brees may be gone.
  10. OROY 1. Sammy Watkins 2. Eric Ebron DROY 1. Aaron Donald 2. Darqueze Denard
  11. How come it's always "EJ will make or break this season"? What about Marrone? What about Hackett? What about Schwartz? I feel like using the correct schemes for your personnel with the correct play calling is just as, if not more important than the QB. It is what allows you to have a great QB. And, quite frankly, I wasn't impressed with any of the guys last year on those fronts. I thought I offensive play calling was predictable and limited (perhaps on purpose to ease EJ into the league) and it showed on the field. I say with all the talent on this team (INCLUDING EJ), there is no excuse for Marrone, Hackett, and Schwartz to not get it done.
  12. Bandwagon fans either a) root for a different team during bad times or b) know virtually nothing about their team during bad times. I have a feeling that you were neither in your time of abandonment. Welcome back to Hardcore Town though.
  13. My call: Bills do not make a first round pick. Instead, they trade it, Stevie Johnson, and a 2rd round pick next season for Sammy Watkins who was selected by the Cleveland Browns. This is only possible since Manziel is still available at 9 when we are on the clock. The deal was made pre draft that if Cleveland was able to take Watkins and Manziel was still there at 9 the deal would be done. As both teams wanted to ensure that they would get their guy in the deal, the deal was not officially made until the Bills were actually on the clock. A. Spikes is on a one year deal. B. Many feel that Mosley is a much more versatile LB than Spikes who is primarily just a run stopper specialist. C. Mosley would potentially be played as an OLB with Kiko and Spikes D. See SF linebackers, if you think you can have two elite LBs, you do it. Spikes is not an elite LB, many are saying Mosley is going to be a perennial probowler. This would be a fantastic draft in my opinion.
  14. Clowney - "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta" - Geto Boys Mack - "rooster the Hammer" - Cypress Hill Manziel - "I'm Gone" - Kanye West Watkins - "Put it On" - Big L Mosley - "Ruff Ryders" - DMX Matthews - "Old Man" - Neil Young
  15. Just answered the question guy. Said nothing about Mack or it's relevance to taking him #1.
  16. Jarvis Landry will be a good / great WR and the best WR value in the draft.
  17. Aundray Bruce 1988. How did that work out? Oh, and the time before that? 1979, Tom Cousineau to the...Buffalo Bills.
  18. Nice job, better than most "expert" mocks. Would be helpful if you posted all of the original teams from the traded slots (some are there) and maybe what the trade was to see if it makes sense. I can't imagine St. Louis not taking an OL, just can't do it. I really like your Donald pick to Minn. I also am not a Barr fan at all. I said a few months ago (http://forums.twobil...80#entry3048425 post #11) that he was falling when he was rated top 5 by many and got called out by numerous people (just like I did last year with Geno when he skipped the Senior Bowl - http://forums.twobil...r bowl__st__40 post #42, 44, 51). Well, guess what fellas? He's a fallen! I don't think he'll go in the top 20 and if he does, they are going to be very disappointed in what they get. With that being said, I've been saying Mosley is the second best LB for a while now. I think he goes higher than you project and I really like the Ravens grabbing him and loving the guy for 8 or so years.
  19. At this point I'd be more surprised if he were there at #9 than I would be if he was drafted before we even had a chance to take him.
  20. Sorry, but the Big 10 just isn't what it used to be. 4th or 5th best football conference now. I'm just not in love with the talent on a middle of the road program in the rapidly declining talent pool of the Big 10. Unless they are OL, I'd stick to the SEC, Pac 10, Big 12, and ACC.
  21. Bills make round 1 selection. Both ESPN and NFL Network cut to commercial immediately. Return from break, next team selects.
  22. They have basically said they could trade up, they could trade down, or they could stay put. In a nutshell, they basically haven't said anything at all. And you know what? I believe them. If there is a player available that they want to trade up for and they think the asking price to do so is right, they'll do it. If they are sitting at 9 and like someone there without having any offers that are too good to pass up, they'll draft there. If they are sitting on the clock and someone sees their player has fallen and they must trade up for him (Donald? Barr? Evans? Ebron?), well maybe they'll offer a great package and we trade down. I believe any scenario is equally as likely to happen at this point and I'm ok with all of them.
  23. It's not that it was too long, it was impossible to follow. I think comparing Marge Schott is not the thing to do here. She made her comments roughly 25 years ago. Totally different era. Comments like that, while certainly frowned upon, we're not as big of a deal as they are today. Things like that were simply not thought of as harshly 25 years ago. Add to that the impact of social media where the league / players / figures can see directly the fans opinions on the matter in their voices, thousands of times over and over, ad neaseum basically. Previously it really only came from the media (who used to move on after a day or two, now they linger for weeks and months on certain stories.) Finally, what Marge said was not about 90% of her players like it is in this case. Quite simply, you have to be much smarter than that these days regardless of your "right" to feel how you want to feel and say what you want to say.
  24. I would love to know how he came up with $40M in actual damages. I would assume it's business related...would have earned $40M in revenues if he was able to wine and dine certain clients at the game. I don't know. Seems like an awfully big number there. Smaller actual damages and larger punitive damages would have been the way I would have attacked this.
  25. I must say, I'm a bit surprised that there are some of you who like Evans over Watkins. Interesting. I thought it was a given that Watkins was the WR of choice for everyone, guess not.
