They need to look at how they built the dynasty in the mid 90s, through the farm and some great value FAs (O'Neil, Tino, Brossus, etc.) You can't buy a dynasty anymore, you actually have to work for it.

Cleveland doesn't have the cap space to get Carmelo or Love on their squad, especially if they want to sign Irving next summer (which they would be crazy not to do). They could get LeBron though and very well may. Having Irving, his buddy Varejao, the number 1 overall pick this year (Parker?), and some development from Bennett (last year's #1 pick) could be enticing enough to get him there. I think he stays in Miami though. You'll know shortly, if Wade and Bosh don't opt out he will leave I think. Those two need to sign for less money (not worth even close to the $20+M they are set to receive) so they can add another piece or two to have a chance against the west and the Bulls (who I believe will land Carmelo and be very formidable next season as long as Rose can stay on the court).

Yeah, i think you're right. Frank got $3M for his season with the As and Bartolo got $5 over 2 years, the only difference in what we are saying is that in the grand scheme of sports those are basically zero risk deals in my mind, but I see what you are saying and I agree with it.

Just to be clear, I no longer listen to that idiot. I wasn't just talking about the new content / news in this, I was also trying to say that the average fan may stop to watch any program (new or old) about their favorite team or player. Since the Steelers/Cowboys/Packers/Patriots etc. are the most popular teams, they will load up the programming on those teams to get that casual fan flipping through to stay and watch for a while if they see their favorite team on. It's a numbers game, they know a lot more people browsing will stay on and watch those types of teams programs over a Bills or Chargers program. People who would enjoy programs on every team are in the vast minority unfortunately and, therefore, they don't really care what we want. Not exactly the same as what Cowturd was saying, but there is a connection that can be made to it.

Definitely top 5. It's fantastic. NY State of Mind is probably my favorite on it, but that's everyone's favorite so I changed it up a bit. Yeah, don't know why Breakdown never gets any love. It has some great verses in it. That Nada Surf song is just funny to me and I was in the middle of HS at the time so it has nostalgia value. Certainly not a Zeppelin level of talent in the group though, that's for sure. "Change" is one of my top 5 all time favorites especially in retrospect with what he was dealing with when he wrote it and his subsequent years of battling substance abuse. These are great points and I agree with you 100%. To play a bit of devils advocate though if I may. I remember when I used to listen to Colin Cowherd's radio show like 7 years ago or so, he would defend when he would talk about the same things numerous times during the show. He would say that the average listener would only tune in for X amount of minutes (a small number that I can't remember). So, if they tuned in they would expect him to be talking about the big story of the day (I think this was around the Bonds or Clemens PED coverage that was so annoying). If he wasn't talking about that, they'd turn it off immediately. He admitted it's all about the ratings and all about the average viewer, flat out saying sorry to the hard-core listeners. Now, this is obviously TV and there is probably a longer viewing time than listening time on the radio, but I think this is probably applicable here. The average NFL fan only cares about their team (obviously they show the most popular teams the most often) and if they are flipping through and see their team (or some player like Manziel) on NFL network in some capacity they may watch for a while, if not they are certain to turn it off. Unfortunately, the true fans get the shaft because they are trying to get the ratings from the average viewer over good content.

Not on topic really, but as a huge A's fan I have to correct you a bit here. They do not take calculated risks. Really, the only risk they have taken lately is the signing of Cespedes. They win by not overpaying veterans and often trading them away before they have a chance to demand enormous contracts for a bunch of young prospects. Most notably, young pitching prospects. They basically turnover their pitching staff every 4 years. They then stock their offense with a lot of platoon type players that can play numerous positions as well and set their lineups based off of the opposing pitchers (mostly righty / lefty matchups). For example, while the Yankees are paying Brian McCann $17M per year for 8HRs and a .222 BA this year, the A's are platooning John Jaso (a lefty) 7 HRs and .271 BA and Derek Norris (a righty) 8 HRs and .302 BA for a combined salary of less than $3M. Combined these two make one of the best catchers in the league, if that makes sense. Their system is based almost exclusively on analytics, which by definition is not risk based. After all, the best predictor of future performance is past performance.

Was listening to some sports talk over the weekend (can't remember who it was though) and they were saying something along the lines of her parents are ruining her childhood and she shouldn't be playing, she shouldn't be subjected to this sort of pressure at 11, look at what happened to Wie after she hit the scene blah, blah, blah. I'm thinking to myself, you media types are the ones creating all of this so called pressure. Inundating her constantly with questions, cameras, microphones, etc. And Wie? I think she turned out to be a pretty darn good person and golfer from what I've seen (even if she hasn't completely lived up to the hype as of yet). Regardless, she seemed pretty comfortable in front of the media, was happy and smiling the entire time, and seemed to really enjoy herself. Any kid who enjoys golf would be in absolute heaven to play beside the professionals that they look up to so much. And she did pretty damn good too for an 11 year old.

Disagree on this completely. Rosters really are not going to change that much. You are going to have cuts, free agent signings, and injuries all throughout the year, the main free agency period and the draft period is over, there has been mini-camps and OTAs to get a taste of what you have. This is a completely appropriate time to have this tread active and I venture to say that most teams projections are not going to change much at all barring a major injury (namely, a franchise qb going down).

I believe this is only in regards to the Redskin name. So any one could create merchandise using Washington and Redskins together with the appropriate colors. However, the logo looks to be still protected and wouldn't be able to be used without breaking the Trademark / Copyright on it.

No excitement in soccer huh? Go and watch the last 10 minutes of Manchester City vs Queens Park Rangers in 2012. It was the last game of the season. They needed to win the game to win the league title (no playoffs in premiere league soccer, but two cup tournaments, the main prize is the league title though). It was one of the most exciting sporting events I have ever watched. You probably won't even go watch it though because you have programmed yourself not to even give soccer a chance (as many Americans have). Or just watch a Messi, Suarez, Renaldo, highlight reel. Unreal what they can do. I gave it a chance about 5 or 6 years ago and I like it more and more each year. I love being able to wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings and watch live games from 7 am till about 2 in the afternoon. It's perfect. Just watching the skills and ability of a lot of these guys is awe inspiring. In fact, just watch their feet for a few minutes, only their feet, you'll be shocked. While I am still a American Football fan over Soccer, I have come to enjoy it as another sport to watch. But to compare the two is simply not fair, it's a totally different game. Soccer is low scoring, yes, but the rush of excitement from a goal or from a huge save on what should have been a goal is tremendous. Or to see a team wear down right before your eyes in the last 15 minutes of a game because they have already ran about 7 miles while the other team is still going strong and now dominates because of their fitness level. It's great. Oh and there is plenty of contact and rough play in soccer to entertain me as well. No one ever said you had to like it more than Football, but to not even give it a chance and proclaim it boring is just dumb in my opinion. But I also like baseball, so take that for what it's worth!

Guarantee EJ has better production than Bortles or any other of the "early" drafted (whatever that even means since I would consider Bortles the only early drafted one myself) QBs this year. Guarantee that OTAs don't mean jack squat. Guarantee these hypothetical "what if we did..." don't mean squat either.
