Was wondering if there is some GM gamemanship on when deciding what time to release a player? Some guys get released early in the day and their 24 hour clock starts and some guys are released at the 4pm deadline when the tidal wave of releases occur. Their 24 clock starts later. Or must all last day waiver wires wait until 4p next day regardless of when they were released on the final cut down day before teams can add them to PS or sign them to active roster?
I don’t disagree with the basic sentiment but watching those two guys you could clearly see the anguish. I will compare and contrast that with the Browns press conferences where there was no compassion expressed whatsoever. McDermott was especially anguished. They’re both fathers and that side came out to me last night. Their body language said far more than their words. They were sickened by the whole thing.
There’s no jeopardy of that happening. Araiza’s season is done. After the whole Watson saga, there isn’t a team in the NFL, XFL or CFL that will take him on until his legal situation is cleared up. He just lost the most important thing to make this go away, money. My guess is this will drag on now through this NFL season before it gets done. The courts don’t move fast. And if the DA seeks criminal charges, that timeline could be extended.
I was thinking the same thing. Both lawyers, Matt’s parents, her, and Matt all have a very different monetary perspective at the moment. An outcome all should have seen coming when those 11 pages hit the street.
