Jets and Quinnen Williams agree on 4-year 96 million deal
wjag replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure I agree or disagree with argument. Hypothetically speaking, would you be in favor of cutting Miller for Hopkins (assuming dead cap dollars were not an issue).. In my mind, I think I am keeping Miller. He got Mahommes on the ground in KC last year and that was a huge difference in the game.. -

1. Pete Carroll retires after the season. 2. The Punt God hits an 80 yard punt against Buffalo 3. Dalvin Cook ends up in New England 4. DeHop signs with Browns. 5. Sherfield emerges as WR2 in Buffalo 6. Kincaid has equal stats to Dawson Knox 7. Josh McDaniel gets fired in Vegas 8. Miami leads the NFL in DVOA 9. Floyd gets 12.5 sacks, Miller 10.5 10. The first pass of the Bills NFL season is an 80 yard bomb, Allen to Diggs on Sauce.

I went with Defense needs to be better. They need to find 20-30 more sacks on the DLine. It's a passing league and the defense doesn't get home near enough to control the games. The Offense is doing their job. But plays like the Hail Murray and Cam Lewis-Jefferson can't happen and might not happen if the DLINE got home more regularly. Stats are fine, but when the game is on the line, Mahomes and Burrow and Tua and Rodgers need to be on the ground.

I'm going. My lifelong friend is a season ticket holder. Each year we pick one early season game to go to. I picked Raiders. Didn't realize it was the home opener.

2 TDs 28-230 yards

Certainly Josh's PCL had a big impact on the season. The lack of creativity on play calls is what stood out to me. Watching KC, they had a new wrinkle play almost every week. The Bills offense was brute force effective because teams elected to give up Josh's rushing yards rather than Stef's receiving yards. They need to be able to scheme Stef open. And Josh/Stef needs to occasionally beat double coverage when they don't. Now having said all of that, going into last season, I really convinced myself that Kromer was going to be the difference maker. The fact that the o-line was breached more times than the southern border, was really the root cause for a lot of the "ills" in the offense. A second or two more of pocket time would likely have allowed Josh to wait for Stef to beat double coverage.

Dang, if the Dolphins or Jets get him, they're adding a dangerous piece. Please stay in the NFC.. Carolina needs an RB1.. Go there..

The East is going to be so hard to predict this year. Big upgrades in Buffalo, Miami and NY. I don't suspect we will see a different philosophy on defense. What I do hope is the players they now have can execute it better. oh.. and it goes without saying, injuries to QB1 across all teams will figure prominently in who thrives, who survives and who dies..

Giddyup.. Love this signing... clearly a no'see'um. Hope springs eternal.

Bills to workout WRs Preston Williams, Marcell Ateman
wjag replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall
negotiating tactic to Dhop's agent.. Oh no, they're bringing in Preston.... -
Just from last year to this year: 1. Kromer was going to fix the line. 2. Gabe Davis was going to be elite 3. Von was the missing piece 4. Bills were finally set at both tackle positions

I'm still trying to reconcile that last game against the Bengals. To be so totally outclassed has to have a hangover effect. I like all the additions on paper. I don't expect much from the rookie class. History tells us few will likely pop, immediately. For me, it really comes down to the OLINE. And right now, I have no clue if they will be better or worse.

I love the schedule (except the London part). The early part looks reasonable. By the time it gets to the second half, with the late bye week, they should be in fine form. No early game in Miami is a plus. I like them ending the season with Miami too. Ever since the NFL went to having the last two games in the division, it has made the end of the year more interesting in most of the divisions. So many prime time games. They also caught a few breaks, some subtle: 1. After London, they play the Giants late on Sunday night. 2. Their Thursday (vs TB) game follows the short road trip to NE and the expectation is TB won't be the juggernaut they have recently been. 3. 10 days to prep for Bengals.. And Bengals will have just played the Niners. 4. After a bruising game in Philly, they get the bye week break before heading the ArrowHead Negatives: 1. Jags get to acclimate in London while Bills don't. 2. Chargers on a short week after playing Dallas in the 4:25 game. Only six days between games with a cross country trip in there.

Expect this to have enormous implications on the post season seatings.

Hmm.. Might have to take a flyer on this. Early September night game means decent temperatures too. I guess I would have preferred it to be @Dolphins to reduce the heat element of that game. But the Swamplands are an easy 3 hour drive for me.
