I've got to say, I enjoyed watching football without the stress of a Bills game last weekend. Although I was complaining loudly when Gordon fumbled that ball at the goal line.🙂 Looking forward to a much smaller injury report this week...

This game went from interesting to really, really interesting with the COVID news.

My gut tells me Micah will be on the field on Sunday.

I get it. Part of it is to build hype for the game. AZ-BUF has NEVER been the game of the week. And yet this week it is. Murray played extremely well against the number 1 defense in the league. AZ has two good wins, Week 1 against a full 9ers team and Week 8 against the Hawks. They also have a very scary WR corp and a very elusive runner in QB. This game is going to be fun to watch. I also believe the narrative would be different if Buffalo was at home and Cards were the road team.

As you watch this generation of college players restock NFL teams, I am struck by two thoughts: 1. It used to be that college QBs had to normalize their play to the NFL style of QBing. Now it seems the NFL is normalizing their play to college QBing with players like Jackson, Allen, Mahomes, Tua, Herbert and Burrows and comers like Lawrence, Fields, etc. 2. There is no prototypical QB anymore. Lots of different styles are emerging, but one thing they all seem to have in common is mobility. When you watched Rivers and Brady play, they are as immobile as Marino used to be. As a defense, you knew where you needed to get to. Now QBs are running all over behind the line of scrimmage and you never quite no where they will end up.

Question for those who witnessed the SB years?

Just listened to diggs interview today...
wjag replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I keep hoping for a Gronk-type Tight End to compliment those wideouts. Or even a Mark Andrews type, good route runner, sure hands. No one in the TE room is that guy. That's the missing piece for me. Oh and a LG/RG that can stay healthy. -
The Diggs interview was amazing to me. He is Buffalo. He is all in. Week in, week out, he gives the best interviews. It's hard not to love this guy and what he means to the QB1, his fellow WRs, the team and the city. Whatever went wrong on Minny, is in the past. He strikes you as the anti-Diva.

Matt Hasselbeck on QB “intangibles” and Josh...
wjag replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I echo this. To me, he is like Big Ben. No one will ever confuse Ben of being the best QB in the league. Sure he has his moments and seasons. But he is THE best QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He reeks and oozes Pittsburgh. I was over the moon on draft day when the Bills selected Josh. I have never waivered. I can't imagine a better personality fit. Sure Mahomes in Red, White and Blue might change my mind, but he isn't and wouldn't be "Buffalo". He would be revered no doubt, but Josh just typifies our built in our own minds idea what to be from Buffalo means. -

Rewatched the Miami-Cards game. My observations: 1. Cards blitzed Tua a lot. 2. Preston Williams (MIA) was injured in the end zone AFTER his TD catch when an excited MIA lineman jumped on him to celebrate. 3. Howard played on Hopkins most of the day and Murray rarely looked his way. 4. CB Kevin Peterson playing for Covidion Kirkpatrick was abused by MIA. He drew a couple PI calls. He left field with a concussion in 2nd. 5. WR Kirk is going to be the challenge for the Bills. He has great speed and runs deep routes on Cover 0 calls. 6. Murray runs right more than left. But his TD run was to the left. 7. Cards had place kicker, and holder on field lined up at WR with Murray on the field on 4th and 10. MIA called TO, so the play never happened. 8. Cards ran a ton of no huddle offense. 9. There were 6 PI called in this game 4-2 in favor of Cards. 10. Larry Fitzgerald is just the consummate pro. He runs great routes and catches everything thrown at him. He is no longer a home run threat, but he sits down in the middle of the seam pretty regularly now and makes 10 yard receptions. 11. 4200 fans in stands. Saw MIA jerseys, so I expect to see Bills jerseys this week. 12. MIA tried all day to run between the tackles and the Cards shut it down consistently. That is until the last series of the game where Howard got 8 yds on first down allowing a Tua sneak to seal the game. 13. RB Edmonds carried a lot but didn't really amount to much. 25-70 yds. 14. MIA played without 5 assistant coaches due to COVID. TE coach was calling plays. 15. On 4th and 1 plays, Murray is very likely to try and run off tackle. The one time they tried it and he didn't run on 4th and inches, MIA stopped Edmonds. This was really the defensive play of the game for MIA. It stopped the Cards at mid field and allowed MIA to go down and get what would be the winning field goal. 16. Cards go on 4th and 1, seemingly all the time. 17. The Cards attempt to tie the game with a 49 FG looked beautiful and straight. It incredibly fell short.

Former Bills QB Matt Cassell - crazy story about Todd Haley
wjag replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He takes a stab at Cassell because he thinks Matt looks like Woody from Toy Story. 🤣 He’s not wrong. Just missing the cowboy hat. -
Bad week for Brittle Ben. Two bad knees and now he is a covidion.

Just some positive stats/rankings for a Tuesday afternoon
wjag replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From everything I have heard, the "team" didn't know. Only a select few like Dabol and McD knew. They found out after the game was over. -

I think seven DBs and a horrid run game had more to do with the last three games than the shoulder stuff. Seattle came out in a blitz happy mode and paid for it. I would expect the remainder of the games to be 7 DB-ish type games until the Bills show they can run against teams.
