  1. Look, this isn't a Big Name I Want kind of thing. I want him. Singletary is servicable. And that's the nicest thing I will say about our current RB group. Maybe that's all we need when you have an MVP quarterback. But CMC has the talent level like Shady who can make the most even with an ok O-line. We only need maybe 10-15 handoffs a game, let's make them quality ones. Next year is a problem cap-wise, but we weren't going to pay Singletary any real money and Moss is a liability. Who else do we have? I trust Beane to be able to work salary cap magic if he really wants to get this done.
  2. Wow. I was expecting them to make a move in the offseason, but let's be honest: the Panthers should not be this bad.
  3. I'm going to join in the "this isn't a hot take" crowd. At this point, I've seen all I need to out of Crowder. In four games he was a cap and roster spot drain. While I like Mckenzie, I think we have seen his peak as a receiver. I don't want to diminish what he brings, because using him in motion does a whole lot of things to held diagnose coverage but I don't think he's ever going to be a third down machine like Beasley was. Shakir, while making some early rookie mistakes, has thrived in the last two weeks and has made the most of his time. At this point I think he has more than earned a spot as the starting slot receiver, and McKenzie can be used where we know he is solid.
  4. My wonderful wife scheduled us out an hour and a half into the boonies with needing to leave at kickoff. My phone breaks at 3:30 meaning that I watched none of it and did not know the final until I got home. Does anyone know when they are going to rebroadcast?
  5. I mean, that has the capacity to make police faint that the rumor of it being in a five block radius.
  6. He's going to have rookie moments but I have to say that without a doubt he's been the member of our draft class who has gotten up to speed quickest who still projects high. (Almost forgot about Benford) I'm not down on Elam but he is definitely still a project.
  7. There we go. That's the score I was expecting. Let's not forget the leads the Ravens have blown this year and give Allen some MVP ammunition.
  8. Gave Davis is having a day!!! Also why are we handing off to anyone besides Singletary?
  9. I know it's late but how do teams keep pinning us deep to start? It happened twice today and also the last two weeks
  10. If we play like this every time we wear them and have so far (Rams, Titans) I want us to wear them every week
  11. This got me laughing. Maybe he's looking to get traded back
  12. Really hoping that this is a Shakir breakout game. I don't love all the injuries but our front 7 is still solid, Elam, Dane and Taron are playing at high level, their run game isn't working and Pickett is extremely raw. I still think we shut down their O.
  13. Look, if KC was next week, I think Know and Poyer play. I've been peeking at the Steelers secondary. They have five DBs that are dinged up. If we don't have to, let's let guys get some rest and get ready for KC
  14. Next year. Though I got my dates wrong. He's an Executive Rights FA meaning we can make a minimum offer and he has to take it.
  15. No lies detected. It fits party balance because Beane is a Wizard
  16. He has benefited from not being the prime target, and having people ahead of him. I am in NO WAY saying that is a bad thing. The whole knock on him was that he had incredible measurables but didn't quite know the scheme as well. He's now gotten a few weeks on seasoning and he's not an obvious weak link to target. Think about this: we have three current starting CBs making less than $1 M a year. Even if Jackson doesn't come back, I feel very good with a Tre White, Benford, Elam, Johnson group
  17. The way I see the OBJ situation is this: the man is an undoubted talent. There is also a reputation of being a headcase/diva. The most common way to get over that reputation is to sign on with a winner on a quick contract, show what you can do, keep your head down and mouth shut. And that's what he did with the Rams...only to be injured at the worst possible time. But there's no reason to undo the formula. It makes too much sense to wait down the stretch for all sides. Teams want to make sure they are really competing for something AND have a need at the position. OBJ wants to make sure he picks a winner.
  18. Look, the reason for Hodgins not making it is pretty simple: he doesn't have the track record and pedigree compared to the people who got onto a roster spot ahead of him. It's the same reason why 31 other teams didn't leap to grab him. That said, if Crowder is out indefinitely, and the other injuries to the position, I am not at all shocked if he gets the call up. He knows the system, we know what he can do and it fits the next man up mentality. But let's not be shocked if it takes a few games. I remember Shakir getting a call a few weeks back and whiffing bad on a block, but in week 4 we are oohing and ahhing over his play.
  19. You do realize that he is a free agent, right? He has the luxury of maximizing his market value. He's playing for his next contract, and playing half of the season on a dud team is not going to get him a big money offer.
  20. I will not be sad if we IR him. If the best you were getting out of him was steady ST work, I am willing to ride the Shakir for a while. We are going to need the roster spot for Tre or a new safety, or a #2/3 WR
  21. Considering that the only reason to activate him would be to get him practicing with the team, I will imagine that we will likely know tomorrow. I would not be at all surprised if he is back this week and is game day inactive. It would be equally unsurprising if he's not off the list until the bye week and on a limited basis in the Green Bay game. As excited as I have been for Jackson, Benford and Elam playing well: A) The aren't ready to handle a Chiefs airshow B) After them there...really isn't any passing attack/receiver group in the regular season which we play that I really fear. Not saying we won't get gashed but Minny is pretty much Cousins chucking it to Jefferson; Rogers is showing some age and his WR group is a step down from previous years; Tua (if he hasn't been concussed out of existence) will have to throw in weather that isn't dead air humidity. That leaves us with...Mac Jones/Brian Hoyer? Jared Goff ? Brisset? Zach Wilson? Our schedule was really front loaded. If Tre isn't fully ready by KC I am ready to get him back in slowly.
