  1. I remember him getting brained against the Browns and then tearing us apart in the AFC Championship game
  2. Here's the thing: I like Greg Roman. His run schemes are really interesting and he can get a lot out of a mobile QB. With our receiving group lacking, I would not be upset at incorporating some of his ideas into our offense. The problem is that this is a passing league. Even run game stalwarts like me acknowledge we are in a pass first league. As a run game coordinator, or someone to bring back designed boots and using a mobile QB like Josh to open the offense back up? Sure. Not as OC
  3. "Can" win? Absolutely. When the Bills offense is clicking no one can stop them whether they want a quick strike or milk the clock. The much maligned defense still finished the season #2 in points allowed. The problem is when the offense inexplicably goes cold. I still like our chances but this is going to be a tight one.
  4. I hadn't seen this yet. If Elam isn't starting next weekend, then we know Dane Jackson has some kind of photos of McDermott and Frazier doing something that would get him arrested.
  5. The thing is, I have DVR through sling, which carries every network... except CBS, because they want to be difficult
  6. I want to apologize to everyone for making this close. I missed the first quarter rocking a fussy toddler to sleep, and when nap time was over we were up 17-0. Thankfully I stepped out on the 4th and 6 play. I have said it a few times, but if in five years there is a scandal uncovered where Vegas dumped a pile of money to have the Dolphins back door cover the spread I will not be shocked. Not that there were any calls where I am going "Oh, that was 100% wrong". It was that the rules seemed to be enforced inconsistently. Shakir reels in an incredible bomb, but on replay it doesn't look clean? Let's reverse the call on the field. Diggs catches a ball one handed, gets two feet down and holds onto the ball? No catch. Hill toe taps but drops the ball out of bounds, like the Poyer interception that was called back? Obviously a catch! That was a drive extending PI vs White seemed to have the refs turns a blind eye as the Dolphins CBs got chippy. And that's not even getting to the debacle of the number of times the play clock hit zero, a second or two passed and there was no delay of game. The one, single delay of game was on a 4th and 1 where the ball was snapped, the play blown up and then was whistled dead to give Miami another shot at a conversion. When Singletary got a lucky spot at the end of the game, it seemed like it was a make up call to make sure that Vegas didn't lose its shirt. Credit to McDaniel: down 17-0, on the road with a third string QB I think a lot of coaches would have been forgiven for throwing in the towel and trying to make it look respectable. The Dolphins emptied their bag of tricks and never stopped fighting. They are in even worse cap space than we are next year, and they don't have a 1st round pick anymore. The box score won't tell you how well the defense played. 24 points given up, with 17 of them in a 2nd quarter coming off of two interceptions and a ridiculous return game from Miami. Can someone calculate the Dolphins average starting field position in that quarter? Because it felt like our 40. My worry is that it seemed that Josh kept going for the kill shot once we were up. We need to be more disciplined going forwards. I wanted a blowout, but style points aren't a thing. The Bengals looked mortal too last night, so we will see what happens.
  7. That was starter level play on that Gisecki break up. He should at least be #2
  8. Dude looks good. I was not missing Dane Jackson
  9. If this game is the subject of a point shaving scandal in five years I will not be surprised.
  10. Refs are doing us no favors. Two challenges needed to be used on obvious calls. The deep catch from Shakir overturned. No holding on the Beasley call. Diggs catches the ball, adjusts but keeps control and taps both feet. Bills get shafted
  11. Not going to lie, that comeback meant that I hit on a +750 parley. Thanks Trevor Lawrence!
  12. Effectively yes. I don't think the bills will be purging talent in the immediate future. The biggest looking FA's in 2024 are Hyde (reaching the end of his career), Gabe Davis (a nice piece but at best a #2 WR) and Oliver (pay the man!) But the pinch is coming. You can do a lot to kick the can down the road, but the Bills have a 2-3 year window before we have to shed some veterans. One obvious move but small move would be to extend Nyheim Hines. The man is the best return specialist I've seen in a while, has some juice to be a offensive 5-10 snap a game wrinkle, he's 26 and his 2023 money in unguaranteed. I'm willing to tack on an extra year or two to spread that out I mean one this year is taking ROY, but I'm rather happy with what we got out of Elam, Cook, Shakir and Benford. Think about this: Dane Jackson, Elam and Benford are all as good as or better than most #2 CBs in the league and we have all of them on secure controlled deals for next year. Their entire issue is that they aren't pro bowl and we were counting on a quicker turnaround from Tre
  13. I was looking at this yesterday. Allen's contact is built to squeeze extra cash year to year. Right now that last of his guaranteed money runs out in four seasons when he is 30, and that year its a quarter of his salary. We are entirely in the clear in 2027. We can rerack $20 million just by converting most of Allen's 2023 salary to a prorated bonus. That's enough to retain one of our key free agents. (Edmunds, Poyer) That said, barring draft finds, this is about as good as the Bills will look for a while.
  14. Well, the conclusion isn't completely wrong. When the Bills offense has stalled, it's typically when teams have bracket covered Diggs and forced dink and dunks. The counter to that is the Bills running the ball with consistency. If they can keep up back end coverage and still limit the run game you can slow the game enough to have a chance. Of course that is easier said than done. I'll highlight the comeback vs the Dolphins: the Bills switched to the run and suddenly things started clicking
  15. The real question is how many wins does it take. Crowder seems like good odds for next week, already in non-contact. Is Hyde a Superbowl or bust choice? can he in the division round?
  16. No that was overt. The hope is that they would be ready for a reboot of the Cinci game or KC if we get the chance
  17. Pretty much. It's why I have no sympathy for the Phins. Rather than take an L for the safety of your QB they rushed him back and then took him out on a short week where he got brained
  18. Yes. But yes, Hyde returning to practice to potentially be ready vs Cinci or KC would be extremely welcome
  19. 30% of Hyde over Marlowe. I would take 80% of Hyde over Hamlin when he was playing healthy
