It’s Dallas week and the Division is on the line!
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am little surprised that I have not seen as much of the X's and O's stuff this week. I don't know Dallas as well, so I am trying to think how the Bills would attack them and all I can come up with is more of the same: they are average at stopping the run but have been limiting pass plays. More James Cook and a healthy PA pass dose please. That's all I've got so far sadly. -
Gabe Davis- Do you want him back and for how much $
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
For all of my grousing about David and being ready to move on, if the Bills got him back in a 3 year, ~$5M per year with few guarantees and high incentives I would take a nibble AND the Bills do not see a better #2 WR replacement on the market. No need to create a hole. But the Bills badly need an upgrade at WR 2 and Gabe isn't it. Given the NFL GMs tendencies to throw stupid money at WR2 contracts I suspect someone will get desperate. -

That's what I see as more likely. Harty and Sherfield are definitely at the back end, and Sherfield is at the end of his deal. In my mind, that's the bar he has to cross. I'd like to see what we have. I don't think anyone on the board would oppose the idea of taking a receiver in the top 2 rounds this year but a developing 4 or 5th option (Diggs, draft or FA #2, Shakir, Shorter) doesn't seem crazy to me. Oh yeah, I expect Knox to be glued to the man's hips on most snaps -

I mean I know I said we want to focus on the Bills this week, but yes, that Titans loss was huge. It is the Dolphins equivalent of our Broncos and Patriots games (ouch). The Jets aren't giving up without a fight, and they have the D to make the Dolphins wounded O-line a liability and a dinged up Hill. The Cowboys aren't an easy matchup and the Ravens play tough on D and can run on you. If the Bills don't collapse down the stretch, I see a reasonable chance of Week 18 deciding the East -

I mean, I know he's not going to be the focus. But please stop me if I am wrong here: does anyone on this board want the Bills to bid on Gabe Davis over the offseason? I don't want him back unless it's at rock bottom price, and the league has a history of massively overpaying #2 WRs. With the production we've seen from Davis, unless he really catches a hot streak is it crazy to give Shorter a few snaps each game? -

At this point, I am willing to try kicking the tires on anyone not Gabe Davis at WR #2 -

It's a good hour drive, but it's usually a clear and easy one. Let's see how the playoff push goes! And they are pretty darn good sandwiches. Even beats the Wegmans ones back in Buffalo. Though I do get cravings for the Jims Chicken Finger Subs and Stingers, because those are undefeated. -

The South Jersey wing struggle is real. The best I've had were doing double fry wings at home with Anchor Bar sauce -

I mean, I struggle to think where by me actually has decent wings. I have yet to make the trek to Pic-A-Lili -

Well my last four seasons have been: COVID, child year 0, child year 1, slowly unfogging my brain 😁 But where do you recommend? If we get to the playoffs, South Jersey Mafia? -

Dolphins starting center out for season
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, after all of our injuries I won't cheer it. But I won't cry. On a more pragmatic note, the Dolphins O-line looks to be in shambles. If we can make a close... -

Space eaters are like running backs: you can get adequate play in the mid rounds of the draft or 2nd day free agency. If you want superior contribution you need to pony up a bit. -

You sir, have never properly warded yourself for jinxes! Away with you! Run into the parking lot, turn around three times, spit and say something bad about Chris Collingsworth you too good sir! -

Look I love a potential December Dolphins meltdown as much as anyone, but it means nothing unless the Bills keep winning. The Bills play the Cowboys this week. We (the fanbase) got caught too much in "well let's look at the end of the year implications". One game at a time -

I'm sorry, I missed your outpouring of faith for Gabe Davis as a boundary WR. Why would we ever look to try to dictate a mismatch? Now, if that is an illegal formation, whoops on me, but I can't find anything one way or the other at the moment. -

On a more serious note, does anyone have insight on position breakdowns and matchups? I know Micah Parsons has been playing out of his mind, so I expect Knox in a lot to block. Would love to see Kincaid maybe take a turn at the outside WR slot to let Shakir cook -

It's exciting to see a legitimate path to the division. But first things first, I have something of use to bring from Philadelphia: DALL-ASS SUUUUCKKKS -

I have been snarky about the Dolphins offense: it's elaborate motion with timing routes with an All Pro and Pro Bowl WR, and then running it up the middle when teams sell out to limit the pass game. It's effective, but relies heavily on skill position talent and not QB play -

Miami losing is huge. Their next three games are a surprisingly resilient Jets, top seed Ravens, playoff bound Cowboys If we take one more win than them in that stretch, Week 18 is for the division -

WR’s checking with officials when lining up
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
From what I have heard from ex-players today, one of the easiest and most common ways to get as much room as you can is to look to the sideline and check to see what the ref will allow. As in "is this good? Step back? Is this good?" If you do the bare minimum and check, you can get away with it. Toney did not do that in the slightest
