  1. It's not that the Chiefs aren't making mistakes, it's that the Lions aren't (or can't) capitalize
  2. Has anyone been able to see the MNF game in advance? I'm going to be annoyed if I need to keep 3-4 streaming services to watch games. Granted, one is paid for and I wasn't getting rid of two others but I'd still be cheesed
  3. We were 4-2 in the regular season against playoff teams last year (with the Bengals game a wash). It's not as if we faced scrubs all year
  4. That was a lot of the debate last year in Denver: how much of Hackett's success as OC was installing LeFleur's system for Aaron Rodgers in his prime? Because other than that, he had one year with an above average offense (2017, with the strong rookie outing of Leonard Fournette) and three below average years with the Bills and Jags.
  5. At preseason I just went onto the YouTube site. They had the bills game as a pending stream on their "Live" tav. I set a reminder to that. I don't see the Bills game up which surprises me
  6. I forsee a lot of 2TE sets and Kincaid throws. Dare we dream of an effective screen game?
  7. I don't hate the guy and he's probably going to be fine. But hey, I'll take every little thing that makes it easier for the Bills to finally grab the brass ring
  8. I'm nervous because I'm always nervous but I'm going to break with people here: I actually like matching up the the Jets week 1 even if it is making the run up excruciating. I hate the hype the Jets are getting. I hate that after four straight years of high level play the Bills are being shunted to the side because the oldest active QB in the league is being grafted onto a team that took out record as longest Big 4 sport playoff drought. Don't get me wrong, I think they are good. They are legit playoff contenders and division rivals. But when I get down to matchups, I think it's close but the Bills have a decided edge Week 1. Garrett Wilson is a beast but Lazard and Cobb have had worse recent seasons that Gabe Davis. I would take our secondary to limit the Jets WRs to let us blitz and blitz creatively and force the Jets to stick to the run. The Jets have next to no film on Dalton Kincaid and their weak spot (on an otherwise stellar defense) is linebacker. One of their best players is a nickel CB, but that is the kind of matchup the Bills want Kincaid on. Media circus aside, Rodgers hasn't had many game reps with his new offense and it's not battle tested and we have a fresh trump card. Anything can happen but there is a reason savvy betters have the Bills as road favorites.
  9. I've been noodling on this a while and what I've settled on what we did against Miami in our second match up: run a lot of nickel/big nickel/dime looks. Dare them to run the ball. Rodgers might have his Green Bay receiver cronies from last year but none scare me as much as the Hill/Waddle combo does. We have a recovered S group and a platoon on CBs. With an O-line worse than Miami I think we get enough stops to get the job done
  10. Part of me wants to set reasonable expectations. A lot of promising 1st round tight end prospects haven't really exploded over the last few years. Hockenson and Pitts haven't set the world on fire and it's unreasonable to expect Kincaid being better right out of the gate but I am really liking the move to 2 TE sets. Obviously I want him to be Kelce 2.0
  11. After getting a good look at the reports on the guy, and with what we had seen up until that point I can't imagine this move as anything but a net plus. Going in, the model seems to be to have one big hole clogger in the middle (Poona Ford) and one gap penetrator (Oliver) to let one LB attack and one LB cover (Milano). With Taylor Rapp and Taron Johnson, along with a stable of CB2 options I think the plan was to decrease the importance of MLB as much as possible with a lot of heavy nickel/dime looks. Getting a guy who can be an average state is better than what we have and will not be the lynchpin of the defense. That's going to be the safety group (I think) New coach, player over 30, injury history, cap space in a cut...yeah it's a common story. You just see it more at the opening of free agency
  12. 1) I think that Kincaid will effectively settle into a niche that Cole Beasley managed for about a decade: a reliable 3rd down chain mover, but with the added benefit of being a big body to let him be a red zone threat and get 4-6 TD a year. 2) Torrance will be a solid starter for 4-5 years until he gets too expensive and we let him walk.
  13. Splenectomy. I'm sorry, it's a touchy see subject
  14. It's very hard for me to be angry about signing a veteran who is even average at such a vital area of need with a setup that he can get a few weeks to fully rehab and learn the system and then pay him vet minimum.
  15. I think that speaks depths as to the quality of the Cincy offensive line
  16. Let me tell you: I took the odds with "Bills win 10+ games" and ran with them. In terms of expectations I think some is real and some is manufactured. The Bills play the Eagles, Chiefs and Bengals on the road. We lost a home game to a London matchup vs the Jags. As much as I hate admitting it, the Jets and Dolphins threw money around this off season and look better on paper while we split with them last year. But a big part is the 7 month long silly season and the need to keep talking about something . Which is how we got endless speculation on how Diggs is unhappy, how McDermott is losing the team, about how Josh Allen has regressed. On the flip side, national media has never gone broke hyping a NY team and the Aaron Rogers acquisition was a big splash
  17. If memory serves there's a Marriott not far away in Conshohocken. FWIW, Manayunk is about as far NW you can go in Philly and still be in the city limits so it's an interesting place. It's been gentrified as hell since I lived there but there's lot of bars and the local equivalent of Nietzsche's
  18. Tir Na Nog is where the Downtown group meets. Blue Light bottles will be at hand. How long have you guys been meeting there? I lived off Green Lane, close to the regional rail line for 2012/2013. It would suck to have missed you If memory serves, that bar is right along the Manayunk regional rail line. Otherwise you're taking an Uber up the road way that Philadelphians consider one of the worst traffic routes
  19. They used to under the DirecTV model. Thanks I'm planning to share it with my sister
