  1. That's along what I was thinking. There might be just enough money in the bannana stand to get a discount S starter and then we are free for BPA
  2. No, you're not alone with that thought. I'm less amazed that Gabe got bank because teams overpay for WR2 all the time. What HAS surprised me is that quality #2 guys are signing for far less than I expected on the market. Spotrac had him at $11.5M AAV and the Bills got him for $8 M a year (with potential void years) and Marquise Brown for $7 M I think the Bills made the more financially sound move.
  3. OK fair enough: More dedicated X receiver. If the team thinks that he can do that full time great, but considering the Kyle Shanahan inspired wrinkles that he ran, the comparison is closer to Deebo Samuel than a traditional #2 boundary WR. That said, he looks about 50/50 and has the speed to take off the top of the defense so that's not an impossibility.
  4. Haha fair. The overall point I am going for is that if the Bills are smart (and so far what I've seen from Beane and Brady has reasonably been so) is that the Bills aren't going to be a "stop X and you stop the offense" We were that at stretches last year. If teams could shut down Diggs (and a lot made sure they did) it could be an absolute grind. Now, Shakir and Kincaid came along down the stretch and Cook became a revelation. With Samuel, and then a 2nd-3rd round burner then I really think Beane will have the luxury of BPA
  5. He seems like a rich man's Shakir who is a little bit more experienced playing boundary WR, and has some juice being used out of the backfield. After sleeping on it, I am fine with that. If there was one thing I held up as why I liked Brady better than Dorsey it's that Brady put an emphasis on scheming against the opponent each week. Against the Cowboys (who had no run defense) and the second Chiefs game (depleted defense, needed as much TOP as possible) he made excellent use of heavy sets. He attacked bad secondaries when he saw them. Last offseason I gushed about the possibilities of using a 2 TE set (Knox was the disappointment, not Kincaid) but now I'm seeing the advantage with 3 and 4 WR sets. Trot out Diggs, Shakir, Samuel, Kincaid and Cook. Standard 3WR: already solid and versatile route options 4 "WR" using Kincaid Bunch formation Put Samuel in the backfield with Cook: There is that "incredibly annoying when used against us" pop handoff McDaniel used against us Week 18 that could go to either, leaving it up to Josh to read. Either can run normally. Play action to one to pass to the other. Motion Kincaid to the slot or split him out to the boundary. Get a true burner X in this draft and the Bills can set up against nearly any defense in the league
  6. Have we heard anything about how we are managing to get Samuel into the budget? I'm not upset at it, and the numbers look reasonable but I was sure we'd need a release or restructure or extension to fit anyone at this point.
  7. I mean it's no longer the most immediately pressing need (now FS is IMHO) but we have to build for the future. Take a flier on a guy in the 2nd or 3rd.
  8. I hate to give the Falcons too much credit until I see the goods, but this has been a very solid offseason for them. With their division weak as it is, I'd put them as odds on favorites. They have a competent QB and multiple skill position weapons.
  9. He did a great job as a change of pace back and I doubt he cost much but man, I am getting nervous with each FA pickup that isn't a S 5th round seems to be good value of a change of pace back (preferably named Williams)
  10. I mean we keep bringing in players so we must be under the cap
  11. Yeah. At this point the only moves I can see that free up enough cap space to sign anyone are a Taron Extension (which will likely be for in season moves) and a Diggs restructure (which would have been quick and easy to do if the team wanted)
  12. I'd say there is a non-zero chance Carolina gets desperate and stupid
  13. I will not be shocked if Beane trades back into the top or middle of the 2nd round if it gets us a high third but if not I think there is fortunately enough of both this year that I think it's possible to get a quality starting WR2 and S within the first 60 picks I just don't like how it doesn't offer options.
  14. Seeing the list, and the relative lack of movement, I am convinced Beane is going BPA WR or S in the first two rounds
  15. Easy. At the moment take out a safety and play TJ as the 4th DB and William or Bernard as a tweener Because right now Rapp is scraping the bottom of the barrel. The rest is eating splinters
  16. Honestly it makes me wonder if the Bills are moving more to 4-3. We had shockingly good depth in Spector and Dorian Williams so how do we justify Morrow when safety is such a desert
  17. It's insane to me that he went for so little. You can't tell me that he couldn't have been had after his bonus hit for a 5th
  18. I'm not saying you're wrong but ugggggggggh. I'm fine with Rapp as a fringe S starter but he's not a long term fix. So we cut Poyer for the guy Poyer started over and need to fill both FS AND WR2 in the draft if we stand pat. That does not give a huge window of options
  19. Really? Because the one position I thought the Bills might have an overabundance of depth at was LB. This one is a mystery to me So he's hopefully less of a liability than AJ Klein
  20. I really want a safety but I'm not really sure how many more levers the Bills have to pull. Restructure Diggs? Extend Taron?
  21. But seriously, I remember seeing somewhere that Cousins has remained committed to getting paid a f**kton to never win a playoff game
  22. I mean if Ridley is there after the dust settles, see if he takes a prove it deal
  23. I'm also a bit surprised that Gabe Davis is the WR who has taken the largest bag going to a new team so far I expect there to be larger, obviously, but I find it interesting that no one went full court press on OBJ, Boyd or Ridley
