  1. Do we have official word on Bernard yet? I know the odds are against it, but I am hoping he could grit it out. I think there are decent odds the other things happen so it won't be necessary.
  2. I don't know, but the meme game is too good to pass up
  3. yuuuuuuuuup. Quick, get on the point line while you can.
  4. I am attempting words that convey my feelings without getting caught in the filter. Basically, urbandictionary (at your own peril) the first word and then imagine a condom with the outside encased with sandpaper, then inserted into the end of a digestive system
  5. Crud. He was the jismspit that picked out sandpaper condoms for us in the Eagles game
  6. My issue with calling it a "fake slide" is that it means that a QB can never wait for a blocker to push a running lane open, or a defender to over-pursue and that makes any officiating of a QB run a mess. Am I empathetic to defenders? Absolutely. We have to deal with it against Mahomes. The easier solution is getting rid of the slide rules. I have yet to see a slide when a player has knees bent, legs forward in line with the torso. Slides involve turning 90 degrees. "Fake slide" is sour grapes
  7. to be fair, that was over a helmet to helmet. I don't like it, but the refs were at least consistent in being overly protective.
  8. Look, I want to separate a few things here: One is my opinion on QB slides. I think they are overly enforced and tilt the favor further to the offense that doesn't need any more tilting. Two is "is that penalty accurate as called?" In my mind, yes. Allen began his slide, was fully on the ground and stopped. At that moment the play is dead. I know Allen sometimes sells the call a bit, but in Rules as Written, it's the correct call. You can think it's a "soft call", or lament the loss of smashmouth football and I'll be there with you. But those are the kind of calls that we would get against us all the time, so it's not like it's something new. Finally: if you think Allen did a "fake slide" on his TD run I need the contact information of your dealer stat, but request that you not watch Bills games while you are high out of your mind.
  9. Evaluated but never ruled in concussion protocol which is weird to me. But I think the Bills were never less than a 7 point lead so they might have wanted to play it safe. EDIT: Now in concussion protocol
  10. Pretty much. Blowout wins against the Lions, Niners and Dolphins. Split with the Browns. It seems that, like the Bills, they will play down to opponents a bit but all loses came to teams who had winning records. Of their losses all but one came from inside their division and division games are flukey. (See Bills, Buffalo 2023) and the only reason why they lost their last game was that they ran out their backups in a monsoon vs a Steelers team that was desperate. Now, I will never discount the possibility of Playoff Lamar showing up but this has been the best receiving group he's ever had. For note: here are his numbers.
  11. Your info was spot on last time. If Bernard is high ankle he's probably out at least two weeks. Waddle was pushing it when he came back that early. I am hoping it's a less serious one, but even then it portends well to a September 2024 return. Any word in your sources about Rasul Douglas?
  12. Look, they have a chance. But legitimately: The Ravens have been playing impressive football. They smashed the Niners and Dolphins offenses which were supposed to be the most explosive in the league. Now, I have my issues with those teams QBs but they are playing fantastic zone defense which unless you are Tom Brady is tough to beat. The Ravens are experienced. Lamar might not have the best playoff track record, but he has a track record. Stroud is having an incredible rookie year, but he's still a rookie. The Browns were just waiting for the wheels to come off. They ran what, 5 starting QBs? Joe Flacco had a great run, but his entire MO has been stretches of elite play followed by a few dismal weeks (not unlike Josh). Houston was doing well, but the game didn't get out of hand until 2 back to back pick sixes. Ravens are rested coming off a bye and are at home. I'm not saying it's impossible. But it's a tall order.
  13. *shudders* That possibility is horrifying. It's like seeing a chthonian monster looking like the Creature From the Black Lagoon rise up out of the waters of Lake Erie and hearing an old salt going "Oh good, they sent the nice one this time"
  14. Ensure that his contract is as guaranteed as Desean Watson
  15. Sprain is good news for Bernard. Average recovery time for a lateral ankle sprain is 6.5 days so I think there is an outside chance he gets shot up with painkillers Sunday. More likely, he might be available if the Bills manage to hold off KC.
  16. That's if she actually comes, which I have my doubts on
  17. And to be fair, the Ravens hit on Lamar at pick 32. But it's like buying scratch offs: you never know what you are going to get, the most expensive give you the best odds. That said, here is what the Bills had to effectively give up to take their swing on Josh at 7: The 21st overall pick. The 53rd overall pick. The 56th overall pick. Cordy Glenn Now of course, the two QBs ahead of him were Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold and we know how that worked out.
  18. I know. But that hasn't stopped every talking head to say that Diggs will be traded. Maybe some other franchise is dumb enough
  19. Yeah, I suspected. Even as a non-Eagles fan he was a fun guy, and he was an absolute delight to watch 6 years ago when they won the playoffs. He and his brother have more charisma than the Mannings. The league is lessened by his departure. Will they trade him to the Bills? Pretty please?
  20. Very much. Do the people here know who were there oooh and ahhhhing about in the playoffs in 2021? Gabe Davis. This is the kind of thing a player can do when they are 3rd/4th on the receiving threat list. Full time #2 would be an issue. Shakir is fantastic, I still think we need to spend a high draft pick out an outside WR
  21. but enough of the in game refreshments, what is the medical protocol going to be?!?
  22. Maybe, but they are going to need to face a harsh reality: The only way they are going to get over the hump is a franchise QB. They won't draft high enough to get a solid one with Tomlin giving them a winning record out of mediocre talent. No coach or player decides they want to tank. There's too much on the line for their resume That's a front office choice. Things will likely need to get worse before they get better. And we know how bad that can be.
