i think a lot of it is that a lot of the things said about buffalo can be said about the jets and miami. the jets have a solid d, a power running game and a promising 2nd year qb making strides. the dolphins started red hot, and still had a shot at the playoffs even with their horrible o-line situation. the patriots sent brady out with scrubs and he still kicked ass. the only thing i can weigh in with is that i think the bills had better young talent to develop off last year, made some very nice aquisitions in fa that seem to have adressed problems, and seem to have two stud rookie starters on offense, as well as backups who are likely to see some significant contribution. qb play, wide receiver, cornerback depth, possibly o-line play if the last shuffle works and what looks like a possibly devestating run defense...oh, wait, you werent looking for an actual answer.

it's early, and I would love to see the current 1st line in the dress rehearsal, but early returns on pears at rg are good. if that's the case with glenn back and henderson looking like one of the biggest steals in the draft, most of the worries i have had in regards to the o-line would be satisfied.

i think part of it was that kujo played for one of the best programs in the country while henderson didn't, and then the drug problems on top of that.at the time a lot of people said henderson could go undrafted, even though he beat out cyrus at dash time and weight reps, as well as being a bit bigger. so far, it looks like the shock of free falling in the draft was a wake up call and marrone made a point of saying that henderson was on a very tight leash. the man has been the biggest pleasant suprise at training camp and marrone has said that he and glenn might be some of the best bookends in the league.

not a big jf fan, but i would like to remind people that this was the presumed timeline for ej. most rookie qbs are supposed to ride some pine.

richardson taking the starting role would be my preference as well. i think he probably will sometime this season, but he'll likely need some more time. i had intended to mean the week 1 starters against chi. i'm sorry, i ought to have been more specific.

personally, him throwing someone the finger doesn't speak a ton to whether or not he can be a sucessful nfl qb. that said, the fact that he had a dreadful outing in preseason, with an equally bad veteran ahead of him means that people ought to remember that there is a learning curve for most rookie qb's. everyone said that he had potential, but would likely need time to work on mechanics, get used to the speed of the game. so bashers on both sides on the ej/jf debate, please remember that.

good question. i'd heard that glenn looked amazing, but nothing on henderson. i guess when it comes to the o-line, not hearing about a huge problem is a good sign.

It's good to have him back.Now let's see how Henderson does. Wow...I know we said it might be a possibility, but if we see it more than once, I think Schwartz would have been very unhappy with our offerings at safety #2. Still, we have the depth for it, and I could see Graham taking Byrd's place.

Whoo! I'm thrilled to see Glenn back in team drills. That gives him a few weeks to get back up to speed and I'm happy to see Henderson at RT.

i agree in that i most likely see henderson moving to rt, mostly because he has been so good at lt. it probably won't be seamless but i think he really is the best option.

I also join the reasoning the we don't see him until Chicago, at least. Let's not forget what happened to Fitz when he got a rib injury. It didn't stop him from playing, but damn, did it effect his performance.

Hmm. Forgive my curiosity, but how do you see things shaking out with Cockrell. We've mostly been bullish on him, but I remember when we were with Brooks. I know he needs some work, and I know that he has quite a deep group ahead of him with Gilmore, McKelvin and Graham.

I liked the pick a great deal. I do think it's fortunate that he has two very good corners ahead of him as he develops (4th round pick after all) but he has the size that Ron Brooks lacks, and I can possibly see him moving to FS if need be. All in all, I am very happy with the pick right now.

I would also like to remind you of the Bills 6th round pick this year, Mike Williams. But yeah, Sammy has been making it look effortless. Woods might be the guy with EJ's special wavelength, but Sammy can just effortlessly turn errant throws into highlight reel plays.

Quick! It's an emergency! I need to find my phone! ...because I f'n called it! Horrible and forced pun aside, back when we first got him, I expected him to be a starter on the outside. The fact that Woods and Watkins have been so good that they have him as WR 3 ought to make us giddy, His ability to go up and just get the ball is nothing new. I looked over his highlight reel, and it is just packed with him just snatching balls away, right when they look like guaranteed INT's. That's why I was shocked he didn't come down with the TD in the HOF game. I love that route though, and I'm hoping we see a lot more of it when the season starts...only, you, with him catching the bal.
