Mccoy says Chip Kelly doesn't respect stars
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really wasn't anything that we didn't already know, or has been speculated to death on Philly sports radio. I took a look, and it pretty much breaks down like this: -Chip Kelly tries to run player management, conditioning etc. Like he was still coaching in Oregon -McCoy was slightly miffed after, having been entirely ok with restructuring his deal, they never talked to him or his agent before trading him. -McCoy is confused as to why, if he truly was a fit in Chip's offense why Chip just couldn't come out and say it, and explain how Shady put up 1600 yards their first year together. -Looking at his experience, DeSean getting cut for nothing after a Pro Bowl year, and Maclin being allowed to walk, as well as a lot of outspoken veteran locker room leaders getting cut McCoy has come, as have many, to the conclusion that Chip Kelly wants to be the star of the Eagles and he does not want outspoken voices in his locker room. Nothing Earth shattering. -
Maybe, but that seems like kind of a waste to do more than occasionally. Dareus is a Suh like tackle, who can beat double teams at the 1-tech, while Kyle is optimal at 3-tech. I agree that D-line is a sneaky need. I do think we could get by with Charles playing heavy 5 technique like Pettine did with Branch but with Dareus' contract coming up and depth thin I can easily see taking a 3rd or 5th rounder.

Bandit's 2015 Draft Report - OGs

... Get 'er done Douggie. -
If I'm picking 5 skill players to put out to form the core of our offensive plays it would be: Sammy, Woods, Harvin, Clay and Shady. From this you can break out of the huddle and run so many formations effectively to create mismatches. Run game: Power run with Clay blocking as FB HB handoff Sweeps with Clay and Woods blocking outside. Zone read. If they start blocking the zone read, they're probably using a LB to spy the QB and Harvin is unaccounted for. Run a jet sweep. Pass game: Screen passes to Sammy, Harvin AND Shady are options in pretty much every formation. 3 Wide, with Shady and Clay backfield blocking. 4 wide, Clay has the option to block on the line. 5 wide. That's a lot of things to have one defense to account for. Someone mentioned the heavy nickel, but few defenses are deep and/or talented enough to pull that off well every down. It's fun to think about!

Article: Quit Sleeping on EJ Manuel
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do like the part where they look at the Raiders, Titans, Jags, Vikings and Bills QB stats blind and it turns out that EJ is right in the middle of the pack of those young developmental players with so much promise that we should have taken a flyer on/traded for because EJ obviously sucks. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In know this has already been asked and answered buy it's buried. Basically: A) Yes in theory but... B) Murray took less money to go to the Eagles, likely because he wanted a winner and to stick it to the Cowboys for lowballing him by going to a division rival. The trade eliminated the risk of having to fight for it. C) Kiko is good but not a perfect fit in Rex's system. Bradham has developed nicely and the team was still a top 5 defense without him, so Kiko was replacable. I think that covers it. -
Chip Kelly does what Chip Kelly wants. Seriously, I am very happy with Shady. I remember an exchange that was caught on mic that sums up things nicely. Chip: "Hit the damn hole Shady!" Shady: "There was no damn hole!" Chip: "Shut up!" Shady: *goes and aquires a picture of the play* "Do you see the hole?" Chip: ...

If the Bills take a QB in the second round....
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In response to the question in the thread title alone: "I begin scouting local bridges to jump off." Seriously. Please. Don't. When your comparisons start with "Well he doesn't have Andy Dalton talent level but..." you know you have gone horribly wrong somewhere. -
It's on like a mofo: Argos vs. Bills May 29th
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I've been able to surmise that by now. Thank you. I'm just commenting on what I've learned about myself that, rather than world weary skepticism, my first impulse was girlish squeals of delight. Like I said, I'm not proud. -

Hey, it's March and I'm desperate for some football. By May I'm the fan equivalent of a junkie who is combing his carpet for a dropped rock and, realizing that it is in fact a paint chip, decides to smoke it anyway. I'm not proud. -

Yolo answered it. You could entirely field a team of practice squad/3rd stringers and anyone who volunteers who thinks it will help their chances on the roster (Tuel, Taylor etc). Even so, I am 99% sure the Ralph would sell out. -

I hope not. Or, if it started that way I would hope that the Pegulas get a good response and say "let's make it happen" The unused Ralph is put to use, interest is drummed up on both sides of the border, football desperate fans get their fix and the team gets a tune up in Rex and Roman's systems. Name a down side. -

So...an exhibition game. Against a CFL team. In May. Ok, I was going to say something snarky, but I'm so football starved I'm going to eat that **** up. -
This was once a Garrett Grayson thread

It's the same group that like Blake Bortles and Carr as developmental prospects, but who clearly know EJ is a bust. -

+100 Seriously. Even teams like Philadelphia are considered in the mix for Mariota. There are ways to get your guy when you really are just one piece away. The Bills, right now, are not. -
Since I live around Philly and my girlfriend is an Eagles fan I'm hoping to have them open on the road against the Eagles on a 1 pm game. I doubt it will happen though. With Chip Kelly's massive power grab/mad (genius?) architect scheming the Eagles are a recipe for Primetime. When was the last time we had prime time opening weekend? For home opener I want NE, week 2 @ 1.

Buddy also went on record that they had gotten an offer to trade into the twenties for more picks but the didn't want to white knuckle it that much. -

I'm also a big fan of Quinn. And this was a pretty good rundown and explains why I'm hesitant about Grayson. His closest approximation seems to be Hoyer or Kolb. Maybe we'd take one as a veteran to hopefully help mentor a rookie, but I'm not drafting one to start. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The only difference between any QB after Winston and Mariota in this draft and EJ is that EJ is a project QB with two years in the league and 14 starts under his belt. -
What's the deal with Ross Cockrell
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Getting back to Cockrell... It looks like he got the redshirt treatment that Duke and Meeks got. I remember hearing when he was drafted that if he put on some muscle he would be a good fit as a ball hawking FS. With Seacry getting overpaid, and AW being versatile enough to be SS or FS, I'm curious if Cockrell might settle into Byrd's old role. -
EJ Manuel throwing Bullets
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All the better then. The man turned in some incredible play in the system while riding an incredible defense and strong run game. When your worst season in 4 years is 8-8, in a division with the NFC Champion Seahawks and the 10-6 Cardinals, that's a pretty strong track record of success.
