  1. I'm not saying this isn't true, but how do you know? Local sports chatter, articles?
  2. I agree that the Bulls haven't beat any quality teams yet either. That's why I consider this game so important: two middle of the road teams who are fighting for second in the division where middle of the road can get you to the playoffs. To me, the question is whether A) With Mangold likely out, can the D-line get the push to shut down the Jets run game and force Fitz to make the kind of throws we cringed at and B) can the Bills receivers do anything with Revis on Sammy and Clay likely double covered.
  3. Yeah, Crimini has been trolling Rex pretty hard ever since he took the job with the Bills.
  4. It's tough because I see both sides on this. On one hand pedigree does matter and creates expectations. Mariota, Winston and Johnny Football would kill for a stat line like Taylor's. That said, I'm willing to wait for a larger sample size, precisely because of the backslide we've seen out of the young guns. RGIII, the second overall pick, was benched for Cousins. Kaepernick was benched for Blaine Gabbert. Cam has had a statistically unimpressive season. Wilson and Luck are having down years without O-line protection. These were the young guns who were supposed to take the league by storm. I want to see until the end of the year. After that, make the call.
  5. So far, no. But I don't think it's a bad idea to do what the Eagles have done with taking a second round pick to be the backup in case of injury. Kolb and Foles were both picked up this way as backups to mobile QBs and both made for ok stopgap starters before getting flipped on trades.
  6. They were awful in the first half against the Eagles too. I'll say what I've been saying all year: the Jets are a middle of the road team who have beaten up on bad opponents and mediocre opponents at good times. Every time they've encountered a half decent team they've lost or won a sqeaker. I'm not saying this is a gimme. Our defense has not been playing great, and we're going to have to find ways to move the ball against a great front 7 and Revis. But other than that, their secondary is still weak. We, more than anyone, know the weaknesses of the Fitz-Chan style: jam players at the line. Darby and Gilmore should win their matchups against Marshall and Decker 1 on 1, so stack the box, swarm within 15 yards and try to make Fitz throw deep to beat you.
  7. Yes, yes. So Taylor had ridiculous yards per attempt passing today. Yes, the entire philosophy of the offense was always designed and based off of a strong run game. Yes, he only missed one pass. But i, with my super fan vision see every pass he should have made if only I was QB. What a bum. [/sarcasm] Seriously though, while good offensive game planning shouldn't over rely on his arm Taylor has been excellent statistically.
  8. I don't know of Taylor is a top 6 QB. But in small sample size, I started to go around the league and tried to think of starters I'd take over him right now, based on how they've played this year, and likely will in the next few years factoring who i expect to retire and I got... Brady Dalton Big Ben Luck Romo Wilson Cam is having the kind of season we wanted: numbers worse in almost every way from Kaepernick, bolstered with a stingy D and a strong run game. ATM, what needs to get fixed is the D, and the run game.
  9. I guess he couldn't get out of the *sings* DANGER ZONE!
  10. I think it's a good idea. Shady has the vision and speed to break the big one, but if our offensive line doesn't get the push he won't drag defenders for extra yards. The best he's done is on swings, screens and short passes this season.
  11. We're joking, right? We have NE, but Miami coming off a bye, the Jets on a short week possibly before their QB situation is at full health. We play Houston and KC, who are scraping the bottom of a low AFC. We play Dallas at home in winter. Philly and Washington both have losing records. I was hearing how easy the schedule was looking and that we should resist penciling in wins. This is what you get when you kill Grantland ESPN.
  12. TBQH, I'm not crazy about Kaep right now, and his contract would be precious salary cap space we have at a premium. And there is potential bad blood between he and Roman, considering how many people blamed him for their season last year. Plus, Tyrod has been playing well and a trade would be for a backup QB. I'll say this: I'd be looking at the Eagles. They are in win now mode, and if they tank or even go 8-8 there are people calling for Kelly to be fired. Bradford is on a one year deal that he definitely has not lived up too, and will enter an open bidding war. The Eagles have a need, have the cap space and seem to think they are one player away.
  13. Well, it turns out VD is catching again. We should be on the lookout for a breakout performance.
  14. Excellent pickup by the Broncos. They could use a reliable target for Manning who can get more YAC.
  15. I've been hearing rumblings in Philly that they might want him. The Chip bots think that if they can get a running QB, they could get the perfect mix for Chip's system and there is no way Bradford has played up to his $13M contract.
  16. I think safety is an underrated position, but I'm seeing gaping holes on the line, Glenn and Incognito about to be free agents, Woods about go into a contract year and Harvin not looking worth 9 million a year.
  17. The Jets were always looking beatable if you watched them play. They just had the absurd luck to face the Colts one week after we hurt luck and gave them the blueprint and played cupcake teams to get 4 wins. Every time they've played a half decent team (Eagles and Raiders) they found their teeth kicked in during the first half.
  18. Tyrod participating fully is a good sign. Any word on Karlos? If he's back then we finally, finally FINALLY have the thunder and lighting back together.
  19. Yeah, I really hope Graham is just getting a rest day but it's great to see all those offensive players getting back, just in time for probably the most important run of the season.
  20. I try not to root for injuries, especially as snake bitten as we are right now. But I'm glad Wake is not lining up versus us next week.
  21. Look, I liked the EJ pick. I think that, maybe if handled differently EJ would be his draft's version of Bortles, who is still absolutely working out the kinks but has shown steady improvement. But I can't think of a better microcosm of EJ's career than the Jaguars game. You see flashes of greatness, beautiful throws, and when he's on, he's on. Whenever he isn't, you see what you saw where you handed 20 points off turnovers in three straight series. Tyrod, admittedly working on a small sample size, rarely makes the Big Mistake. He isn't always perfect, and seems to play injured plenty, but he typically makes smart decisions as a passer, even if his accuracy can be off at times. He has 8 YPA, and has a better than 2:1 touchdown to interception ratio. He is undeniably playing the best of any QB on our roster right now.
  22. What am I rooting for? The meteor to hit. More seriously, the Pats to win, but take enough of a pounding that we beat them in a few weeks.
