  1. I think that, after last year, and Brady trying his "revenge tour", and all the problems and questions that came with enforcing those PSI rules if Goddell could get his power back without kicking up a storm, he would.
  2. I think it's about more than trying to get Brady suspended. Berman pretty much said "Hey, you know that binding arbitration you negotiated for? And the ability to act as a disciplinarian? You don't have that, thanks 'k bye." As it stands, it seriously limits the league's power, and is going to be the rallying cry for every player who ever gets suspended. So of course they are going to try.
  3. I am hearing that this is one of the deepest D line draft years. It would be nice to get a few replacements lined up.
  4. Except his system has been more of a 4-3 under with the Ravens and Jets. I can see Dareus as a Ngnata like 1 tech NT, and Kyle as the 3 tech. I can see Hughes as Suggs like player, but we really need a cover LB and 5 technique tackle.
  5. I'm also intrigued at the admission that Rex wants to do more of a 3-4, because it makes me look at who we have. Maybe a 3-4 under front? I still think that even with Dareus shading as a 1 technique NT, we'd at least need a 5 technique player. I'm also happy to hear about Henderson. Crohns can make it tough to keep body mass, but it can be treated with the right meds sometimes.
  6. I know some people will tell you otherwise, but I've been at ground zero on the other side of that trade. People in Philly hate McCoy right now, but man, they hate Kiko even more.
  7. I am honestly feeling bad for the Browns. With us, you see some measured hope before things come plummeting back to Earth. Let's go at their last two years: The have two picks in the first round, in one of the most heavy and deep QB classes of recent memory. They have a new, defensive minded coach They trade back with the Bills to pick at 9 and get a 1st round pick next year. The Bills take Sammy Watkins. The Browns take Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel. Gilbert busts out horribly, Manziel becomes the stuff TMZ is made of. Josh Gordon gets suspended and is still not back in the league. They start Brian Hoyer. Hoyer leaves. Hoyer goes to the Texans. The Texans go to the playoffs. I've heard the term "factory of sadness" used. I don't know if it's wrong.
  8. I'll say this: the NFC East was a close competitor with the AFC South for Worst Division in Football. They got to pad their schedule again against the NFC South which, outside of Carolina, was pretty bad. Cousins had a good year. I won't deny that. But he did it against teams worse than ours, and with more starting experience than Tyrod had, where they had a full offseason to build around his strengths and weaknesses.
  9. I was reading a BR article (yes, I know) and a scout went on record about how this year is looking like the worst overall offensive draft in four or five years. I was hard on the Sammy pick, but Whaley (apart from the O line) has looked pretty smart on his drafts.
  10. I think all guarantees were hit this season and I think we are free and clear.
  11. I don't think this year. There's already a big hole with Mario leaving. I'd rather see them draft a replacement in the mid rounds this year (Whaley seems to think it's a deep draft there) and give him a year. Agreed. We are in far better shape than Miami.
  12. Nice rundown. I'd even be ok with a little more for Incognito. I think Spotrac is looking at something like $5 million a year, and I'd rather see the Bills front load any guarantees.
  13. You know, now that the contract details are out, I can't fault the Eagles FO too much. It's a lot of money, but most of the cap hit is next year, and he has very little guaranteed after this year. The word from Whaley is that none if the QBs look like day 1 starters, and that they need at least a year on the bench. If the Eagles see a guy they like but needs a year, they don't need to worry about throwing him into the fire like we did EJ.
  14. That's like saying "I leased a classic cadillac, and it ran ****ty for 6 months, and then I had to leave it in the shop for a month, but it's run fine these last two weeks. I better make this a rent to own, because how often do you see one of these on the open market?". Bradford might run ok for a while, but his statistical best season, honestly his best season ever, in terms of yards, completion percentage and yards per attempt was last year. He was pretty close to his touchdown total. And this was in the "Chip Kelly, QB friendly, let's have eyepopping QB stats" system. He was 7-7, threw for 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. I hate to see what happens when he breaks down.
  15. They're already looking at shelling out $18 million for Sam Bradford. So who knows.
  16. Yeah, that's by my estimate. It's the difference between "we don't have a ton of money to sign players" and "we have to immediately renegotiate or we'll be in a hole to sign our rookies"
  17. Wait, wait, wait a minute. $9 million for rookies? Our top 3 picks shouldn't be much more than $3 million combined. After that, it's the league minimum. How do you get to 9?
  18. Ok. I want RI back. But if he's looking for a multi year deal at more than $5/yr, he's out of his mind. I would rather see the Bills sign Mathis or Evans if that winds up being the case.
  19. I think he was referring to McKelvin, Graham and Gilmore. So now pay Incognito!!!
  20. Decent enough guy and player, but that's a lot of cap space for a backup guard.
  21. F5 is currently ground up and in the freezer. Not shocked, but it's a little sad to see him go.
  22. I mean, it's fine for me if they do it, but it puts them $3.5M over the cap. They can make cuts to fit, and pay their rookies, but they weren't terribly deep anywhere last year.
