  1. Looking over Pats* fans, I figured out why so many annoy me so much. And it's not them, it's all the talking head media people who flock to them. Somehow, the Pats are considered Schrodingers team: They are a brilliant when they are winning, but their losses are because they somehow beat themselves with nothing to do with the quality of their opponents, but yet are still brilliant. When the Broncos were beating them in the playoffs, it wasn't about historically good defense we were watching, it was that they shut down *Brady*.
  2. Dareus? Immediate impact. You could see in the Jets game a complete inability to get pressure up the middle. Shaq, I think, takes the role of Hughes in Pettine's scheme, the guy you bring on the edge rush on the third and long to pancake 'em. LorAx is playing well enough that you don't have to force the transition.
  3. I do feel bad. I don't hold any ill will for walking away from a bad scheme fit to the DC he played best under. And he's been playing very well as an Eagle. But Schwartz is not a cure all.
  4. I would take him in a hot second. ST has been better, but the years Bobby April was doing it for us we were special at it. Agreed. They have looked terrible two years in a row with a #2 overall pick supposed to save the franchise.
  5. I waa devestated when Ragland went down, but Brown has taken care of business.
  6. I can't believe that by me they are prempting Bills vs Pats for Cleveland vs Washington. If I could conjure two teams which look like the dregs of the league It's them
  7. I keep hearing it too! And I'm still amazed. I know, glass houses, but it is not as if they are in a division with someone with Patriot level dominance. It's the Titans (so much for Mularky), the Texans and the Colts. This was a division won at 9-7.
  8. That's what I thought! Newton is struggling though. Not so much that I would not swap him for Tyrod in a heartbeat (and I like Tyrod) but it's noticable. Then again, so was Aaron Rodgers up until this week.
  9. As much as I hate Brady, he might be the greatest of all time when it comes to reading a defense and getting the ball out in the perfect spot.
  10. Basically it was this: "Rex, how will you deal with whoever the Patriots use at quarterback?" "Do they have another one of the 0.1% of quarterbacks like Brady who can get rid if the ball in less than 2 seconds and make you pay on a blitz?" "...no?" "So we're going to try to hit him."
  11. Because expectations are not high for San Fran this year. Blaine Gabbert is their starter, Chip used up his bag of tricks with the Eagles. Chip likes to be the star of the show and college let's him do that, and LSU is a plum gig.
  12. And we're on to New England! Seriously though, I will be keeping a very keen eye out on their QB situation. I am sure that we may know more as the week develops, but I would much rather play Brisket or some street free agent that threw into the fire at the last minute.
  13. Amen! Believe me, the ability to close out games is a worry to me, but that was a team that is picked as an easy playoff lock by most "experts". For the first time today I saw the team that we were promised this offseason.
  14. Most days I would easily take Larry Fitzgerald and Malcolm Floyd over Marshall and Decker. But this week they actually but pressure up the middle and it made the difference...and the secondary looked like they were trying today.
  15. Alright. I'm a Roman fan, and I don't think he cost us the game. But last night my fiance (a die hard Eagles fan) remarked "this looks like an Andy Reid offense". And as I think about it, dread sets in: having a scripted set of plays that can blow up in your face, throwing short of the marker on 3rd down, an unwillingness to make adjustments if things aren't going well and time mismanagement were all hallmarks of his last year's in Philly. I suddenly terrified. I am now ok with someone else calling the plays.
  16. Look, I'm not exactly thrilled at our offense, bit Greg Roman wasn't letting Ryan Fitzpatrick make us his b*tch.
  17. Does anyone else think there's a chance that they went vanilla because of holding stuff on the preseason and they wanted to hold their tricks for the Jets this Thursday? Because honestly, the TNF games really do not give you down time. And as much as I would have liked to beat the Ravens (and won a bet with a friend) I would much rather beat the Jets.
  18. I don't want to underestimate them. And they definitely have a stout middle. That said, Shady and Bush's best skill set is running it over the edge. I'd attack there.
  19. Bluntly? Because there are a busload of qualifiers on top of cement. You have to be a college student or living in an apartment complex or in a metropolitan area being important enough. Otherwise you don't qualify.
  20. Vic would also like to recommend scoring more points than the other guy as essential for victory.
  21. Huh, weird. Using it through normal channels I see the standard $100 for Game Pass. Maybe it's one of those things (like with Netflix) that when you open it up outside of the US they direct you to where there are more options.
