  1. Huh I didn't see that one coming. I heard he was locked up with the Ravens. They desperately need him.
  2. I wasn't aware they had tendered Butler. Of course, if the Saints want long term cap I'm pretty sure a one year tender doesn't give them that. In fact I think it increases the cap hit this year & then they have to pay through the nose to keep him.
  3. I think I have been posting this a lot, but Chris Trapasso did a write up on the type of offense Dennison would be looking to install: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/1/20/14331974/rick-dennison-buffalo-bills-offensive-coordinator-tyrod-taylor-all-22 Here's a highlight from the end
  4. Ok, quality insight. Any particular reason why not?
  5. Continuing the "how do we fill out the WR group" I have been mulling on this idea. The Saint said no to the 32nd overall but maybe more receptive to the 10th. I am NOT advocating for a straight swap, but maybe we get a mid rounder back. Normally I wouldn't suggest such a thing. But today the WR market has gotten very small very expensive for anyone who isn't a camp body. Cooks is still on a rookie deal. He's a more proven commodity. It would definitely give us a #2 WR. The tradeoff is that we control him for less time. I thought I would throw it out there.
  6. I'm seeing a lot of vet min...any objections to giving a lot of incentives for a certain number of touchdowns or receptions/yards
  7. Well, both now that I think about it. 200 yard games for him both times. But I waa referring to the egregious missed tackles and snatching of defeat from the jaws of victory that was week 16.
  8. I'd want to see WR or DB. If a fantastic safety drops to you, take it and run.
  9. Huh, I don't recognize the name.
  10. Well, now especially since we cut Easley. We desperately need bodies. I think we take a WR at 10 or trade back.
  11. I brought it up in the LaFell thread, but to my knowledge he is an UFA this year and I haven't heard any buzz. We know what he is, and we would need more WRs regardless, but wouldn't it be good to have a red zone WR if we are focusing on short WCO passes?
  12. Speaking of which, I am ok with kicking the tires on Hunter again. I would rather we try to pick him up than try LaFell. Maybe he is a one trick pony, but red zone touchdown scoring is a pretty good trick.
  13. I think it's because we like the idea of an H-back who can also block in a WCO. It would have opened a lot of ways to get YAC. But I will take the best rated blocking FB.
  14. Considering the deals the Osweiler got and it looks like Glennon is going to get, this makes Whaley look canny as hell. I will take TT over those two any day, and he's getting a very team friendly contract that leaves it open to take a flier on a project QB this year or a serious pick next year and let him acclimate and not throw him into the fire like we did EJ.
  15. Well, he's very good at what he does, and that's run block. A lot of Dennison's running game uses that so Shady should be enjoying nice big run lanes next year.
  16. Ehhh, I don't like that he isn't as versatile as Juice.
  17. Wow. Ok. I guess the Juice market got too crazy. Anybody know anything about this guy?
  18. Nice. I can live with that. I think he took a pay cut on there somewhere to make that work. It was already close to that before the restructure.
  19. I think so? I don't see anything of that amount on SpotRac but his cap hit would be $16M and now it's under $9. He's taking a big salary cut for a signing bonus.
  20. You know what, I can live with that. He was the best person we were going to get this year. If we are not happy, we go to the more QB heavy 2018 draft and pick up a guy like Aaron Rodgers and let him ride the pine for a year.
  21. Well, I like picking up $6 mil. I'm curious to see how it affects next year, especially if he keeps the signing bonus.
  22. And I think he can. In fact, I was ok with just picking up his option. I honestly think he gives us the best chance to win now, and you don't flush away the last year's with high cost free agents by dropping in someone from a dubious QB draft class. My worry is if we want to move on next year. It would have been pricy next year, but we could have done it. If we lock in, I am worried. On the other hand, the Rapp report makes me feel better. If his sources are saying that the new coaches wanted him all along but at a lower price tag, then they have a plan of what to do with him.
  23. I think so too. From what I hear the draft is stacked with DB's this year. I think we can get someone quality in the 2nd round as long as we shore up safety.
  24. Well he's not coming here! Not anymore. I honestly think it's to Denver. With their D and competent QB play they should be a powerhouse.
  25. Yeah he is going to hit the roof. I still want to see how they did it. If they committed to three years on him to free up cap space I will be a little nervous. If it makes cutting or trading him next year easier, Whaley is a genius.
