Two Bills Drive Fantasy Leagues are open!
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do we need to do anything special in terms of cash to join in? It looks like the Survivor is just for fun, I would hate to be surprised. EDIT: I picked the Bills to surviving week 1, mostly because I imagine that if they don't I won't be either. -
is jonathan williams next? - update: now cut

I don't get it. Tolbert is ok, but Jwill looked better. What are we doing with the roster spot. -
ANNND which QB was widely considered a bust? Which QB has been able to ride excellent defensive play along with a HoF running back and high YAC recievers. Thank you, you did end the thread. You proved my point. It turns out, when you surround a mediocre QB with tools like the Chiefs had and the Harbaugh Niners had, you get repeat playoff appearances. I'll be watching with great interest how the Chiefs look without Maclin, Ware, Hali and Charles.

Boldin does want to play football

I'd do it for a pick. Maybe a third or fourth rounder. Boldin looked broken down, but I don't want to give NE anything for free. -
Ok, you want me to go on record: McBeane doesn't get "their" team until 2019 at least This year is a wash. I hope I'm wrong, but we were looking at an outside chance at the playoffs to begin with even before the draft. At draft day, we picked up some nice pieces, but it became obvious that the FO's eyes were on the future. The team passed on some interesting star power talent in areas it could have used help in (Howard, Reddic) or swing on an unproven QB (Mahomes) to take an unsexy but solid pick in White and stash a first. But you honestly can't tell me that we are going to get the same production out of EJ Gaines and White as Gilmore and Darby. Maybe we gained more long term, but short term it hurts, no question. A healthy Sammy is undoubtedly better than normal Jordan Matthews. And I would even be fine with these choices, were it not for the fact that veteran cut down year is 2018. That's when Dareus becomes cuttable, Kyle's contract is done, Shady, Clay, Hughes and Ritchie provide big cap space if cut, and Taylor has almost nothing guaranteed. Which means that, if there's going to be a year to stash a ton of dead money, that money goes to 2019. You also have all those draft picks lined up, which tell me one thing: rookie QB in 2018. The problem is, if you are betting the farm to get a rookie QB and put him in with J Will as your running back, and Zay Jones and no one else as your starting receiver (Matthews finishes his contract) , and you're ripping apart the interior of your D-line, it's going to be a massacre. And that's even if they get the right rookie. Maybe I'm wrong. Hell I want to be wrong. I call myself a Kool Aid drinker. Maybe a resurgent defense and an offense that does just enough gets us into the playoffs. Maybe we just need a retool, which a loaded draft class gives us the future. But right now it looks like a two year rebuild.

Osweiler cut by browns, now with Broncos

Normally, I would laugh. But I seriously don't know if he's worse than Siemian or Lynch at this point. I think there's a decent chance he starts. -
Jets try to get McCown hurt, nearly succeed
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drafting a rookie in the top rounds is always a risk. Luck and RGIII went 1 and 2, and that is so different in result. Goff could barely make the field over Case Keenum. I really hope that even if they draft a QB high they let TT take another year as the starter, or at least force the rookie to beat him out. -

I'm not a fan of tanking in general, and I really don't recommend it in football. The most successful case of tanking in any sport is, arguably, the 76ers, who have spent 3 out of the five years I've lived in the area actively trying to lose, and then last year when starters had even a hint of injury kept them out. I say "arguably" because despite all of those picks, and finally looking like a strong team in 2017, they haven't done anything yet. And that's in basketball, where one or two next level players can define you for a decade. We've seen the Browns be the Browns for...how long? So if the Jets want to try for the 1st overall pick, I'm tempted to let them. -
This is what I have been hoping for. I was confused when I didn't see any rollouts or bootlegs called for Taylor, when that was arguably the easiest way for him to work short to intermediate throws. Dennison did it a lot with Siemian to start the season last year in Denver, and at least at first I gave them a decent amount of success. If this is the case, part of me is wondering if putting TT behind that abysmal offensive line was on purpose so they don't give anything away for the start of the season. I want to see Taylor playing with Glenn and Dawkins on the edge, with Miller back inside and Vlad in a gulag.

Why isn't Groy starting at RG
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know!I wouldn't go as far to say that he's top 10 in the league, but he was very serviceable for us last year. The idea that Vlad the Impaled-by-blitz somehow even began a competition shocked me, never mind that he somehow won it...and continues to win it. -
DraftTek Positional Needs After Game 3
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been stumping for Taylor, but jeez, AN looks like a mess. I don't see how it's not the biggest need in the offseason.
