  1. Nice. Yards per play might be one of the best judges of how talented a defense is now that I think about it. Per game depends on how much the offence is out on the field, so of course a defense that has to be out for more plays will potentially give up more yards.
  2. I try to never cheer injuries, but it would be a relief if we don't have to cover him. Dude is legit.
  3. Fair enough. I hadn't heard, and didn't see any signings when I did a quick search for offseason moves so I assumed. You definitely still have to play the games, but my gameplan hasn't changed. With a pretty threadbare WR group further reduced with Shepard's concussion, I am trusting Levi, Tre and Neil in single coverage and focusing on containing Barkley. Overall, after containing Bell, and seeing the pressure that was put on a more mobile QB I still don't imagine that the Giants are going to be putting up gangbuster numbers against us. But like you said, that's why they play the games.
  4. I don't want to underestimate an opponent, but I honestly don't agree with your assessment. The Giants have been very weak on the O-line last year, and they really have not much to fix it. Golden Tate is still suspended, so they have very little in terms of an outside threat. I have more faith in White and Wallace to hold in single coverage than I am with Milano and Edmunds stopping the run. If the Bills can get the penetration up the middle that they did last week, I think Eli is in for a bad day.
  5. This is a game that I absolutely think that the Bills should win. That's the thing though: in years past, this is the kind of game that they lose. If I had to pick a plan right now...sadly, it sounds exactly like what has been used against us recently: go single coverage on WRs, load the box and force Eli to hit on tight throws. If I am the Giants, I am going 3 WR 1 TE 1 RB and 4 WR 1 RB as much as possible to spread the Bills defense and try to open up more roles for Barkley. He is a legitimate generational talent, so containing him is the top priority,
  6. Look, he obviously has flaws and critiques deserve to be made, but inaccurate is am unfair knock. 64% is not bad, and that's with all the bad plays you are dragging up. Plus, accuracy is absolutely effected by playcalling and doesn't reflect situational football. Darnold dinked and dunked his way to 68%, but less than 4 yards per attempt. I am far from Allen's biggest supporter and you clearly have an agenda.
  7. I stopped watching. I went to check on my wife after we went down 16-0 and the next thing I know it's 16-3. I watched the rest from the updates on my wife's phone.
  8. Some more beautiful schadenfreude in the comments here: https://www.ganggreennation.com/2019/9/8/20855523/final-score-bills-17-jets-16
  9. I have been seeing very little national media about the outcome. I think everyone had prepared their articles to praise the Jets, and now are flat footed and don't want to credit the Bills.
  10. Wow, yeah, I stand corrected. I was watching with the sound off and I could have sworn that I saw DiMarco on the play on the pick six. Clearly, I got that wrong. Sorry folks. Mea Culpa.
  11. As much as I know that stats often don't tell the whole story, but it does make a point here. Darnold threw for 68% today, but we are talking about a 4.25 yard per attempt average. In comparison, Allen was 24/37 for 64% but for 6.85 yards per attempt. (So much for innacurate) Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but the quick short pass dink and dunk while relying on YAC was Gase's hallmark in Miami too, right?
  12. The common denominator is DiMarco. He gave a huge pop up on some of Peterman's famous 5 turnover half as well. I am amazed that we still put anywhere near being a receiver on pass plays. Hahahaha that is priceless.
  13. I appreciate the GBBS reference.
  14. I'll be honest, I walked away for a bit after we went down 16-0. As I finished using the bathroom, my wife told me she had checked her phone and it was not 16-3. I stayed watching that phone for the rest of the game. Clearly, I was a jinx this week because it was all awful when I was watching. That game took a year off my life, but I am stoked we won!
  15. That was really the thing. Murphy's Law was in effect in the first half, and yet the Bills were very much in the thick of things to get better.
  16. I'll be honest, I was in on AB and disappointed when we didn't get him. The man is a first rate talent. But man, if he was like that in Oakland, I can only imagine the nightmare that would have been him in Buffalo, and under McDermott and a no-nonsense culture.
  17. It's a rough business, no doubt about it. Especially for the people who miss a year or two and try desperately to get on a roster or even the practice squad. I think that's why we loved Fred Jackson. Because he went through miles of hell to crack the roster of a bad team and the years he got made us love him.
  18. Obviously DirecTV. I know a while ago they had a streaming only option if you were in a dorm or apartment complex option, or you were in a select series. I have also heard luck with using a VPN with a service like Sling or CBS now to get the local channels that they offer based on your ISP. There is, in addition a Reddit channel called r/nflstreams, but you wouldn't be interested in that. Along with being illegal, they typically run on a massive lag, are prone to glitching and the sites that have a high risk of giving your computer something nasty...or so I've been told.
  19. Wow. The Colts destroyed probably the most talented young QB of his generation. Invest in the O-line folks
  20. As to our gameplan, well, I want to see how Darnold does in week 3, but right now it seems like the best answer there is to keep applying interior pressure. With Bell, they would need to be aggressive at the line, but I trust our secondary to keep pace with their receivers. From the Jets fans, their secondary is attrocious. I suspect that they will be putting extra coverage on Beasley, so I would challenge them on the edges early. We saw in week 1 that Allen can change plays at the line to take advantage of John Brown and the cushion he gets.
  21. Geez, they are a cocky bunch. I think they clearly have not been paying attention to what Allen has done this offseason (for the most part, there are surprisingly a few sharp posters) and they seem to think that if they "keep Allen in the pocket" it's an easy win. I'll be honest, now that sports betting is legal near me, I think I have to lay money on the Bills in week 1.
  22. I've been fooled before. Repeatedly. And yes, I know it's only preseason. But honestly, they've looked pretty darn potent in preseason. And it's not about how many points they scored, or breaking down Allen's completion percentage, but we've honestly seen a lot out of our young players. Allen has looked sharper and more decisive, and the worst thing that anyone could say about his performance Week 2 was that he could have finessed a completion to Beasley more so that Beasley could have had a nice run after catch instead of a 4 yard pickup on first down. The O-line, for the most part, has looked considerably improved and Dawkins and Ford are more than holding their own. Ford in particular looks like he has enormous value in being able to swing between tackle and guard. Beasley looks like a genius find, and even when teams scheme to stop him, that should really open up the rest of the offense. Singletary has stood out even in a crowded running back group. Ed Oliver is getting double teamed and is still making plays, and you can see Edmunds hitting the hole at just the right time. Tre White and Wallace looks like a corner tandem for years to come. The team is young, and looks like it can stay that way for a long time.
  23. Even if he does, I suspect that Feliciano is still the week 1 starter. After multiple weeks of training camp and preseason, and still not being ready I am sure that McD would want to give multiple weeks to make sure that he is in sync with the other members of the line and fully at game speed Though for what it's worth, if Morse is in a non-contact uniform, that means that he is in stage 4 of the protocol, where stage 5 is full release for contact..
  24. This looks like what we hope Josh Allen's bread and butter will be all year. Beasly has this little turn of the shoulder as he is starting to get open and it Josh can reliably hit it (which he seems able to do,) it should mean reliably getting those 5-8 positive plays that force a defense to condense in that part of the field and leave receivers on the outside (like Brown and Foster) tons of room to work.
