Week 5: Bills at Chiefs on SNF
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
We're on to Kansas City -
Just noting that, while it's early, we are starting to see returns from our draft this year. Rousseau, along with a few sacks has been flying past the edge. Basham got his first sack today. Spencer Brown got moved to starting RT. None is rocket to the moon, but it's nice consistent production. I'm happy with what we've seen so far.

Beth Mowins to call Bills-Texans
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to pile on, but I literally preferred to watch with the sound off rather than the Barber/Mowins combo. I got more life from the studio calls -
I know that these are special circumstances. The Bills were against a team that was already not very good in 2020 and then were down to their third string QB, that was on the road, in pouring rain. 40-0 shutouts do not happen often in the modern NFL. 109 yards of offense allowed does not happen in the modern NFL.

9/26/21 GameDay Bills vs. WFT Pregame Thread
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My one worry is how their front 4 matches our O line. That said, Cover One brought up a good point: their linebackers play zone and are liability in pass coverage. We have incredible zone beaters in Beasley and Sanders to exploit that. I hope for the Bills to bring in Moss and a TE to pass protect and then hammer the run game if they go into dime to bracket Diggs, Beasley and Sanders in a 3 WR set -
I legitimately loved watching him run, and I am sad that his time here didn't get to the playoff aspirations we had. It wasn't every time, but he was a constant home run threat I am happy that he got one Championship even if it wasn't with us.

I honestly don't know why they just don't go to the Hogs. It was a preexisting nickname and it works fine with their color scheme. But that would mean that someone who isn't a trainwreck of an owner would be charge and Snyder can go pound sand.

Let's hope they are equally bad when we play them

I wouldn't call it mocking. If the Bills media itself is pushing this (I saw them put it on Facebook) then they clearly knew about the line and I can't imagine McDermott being upset and them putting it out. I get the feeling that McDermott's clapping is seen like it is on here: a habit that he does that he takes some good natured ribbing about.

Opening day food at home

I was away this week and there was no time to prep so I am ordering ribs, brisket and smoked wings from a local bbq place -
Prediction Time: The Steelers move the ball well. Najee Harris breaks off some highlight reel runs and our defense allows some embarrassing 3rd and 4th down conversions. But as the field shrinks the Steelers settle for field goals instead of touchdowns. TJ Watt gets his, but Allen is able to work Diggs, Sanders and Beasley with dink and dunks with Allen constantly a big play threat. Bills 35, Steelers 31

TJ Watt signs mega deal with Steelers

We knew he had practiced with the team Wednesday, so he was going to play. This just ties up more cap later for them when it all comes crashing down. I will file that under "A good problem to have" -
Ignoring things like potential alcoholics wanting to stay away from places like that or people with small children who can't get out of the house It's not the "don't want to pay for Sunday ticket". It's "I don't want to pay for DirecTV, have them install a satellite for a product/service I don't want, to THEN spend MORE money to buy a service I want but is only available for less then half the year" If they were to ever offer Sunday Ticket streaming separate I would be all over that in a heartbeat. Exactly my point. $250 a year to watch as many games as I want safely on my own devices, to let my wife watch her Eagles games would be well worth it.

It continues to astound me that years into the massive move to streaming services, where pretty much every entertainment company INCLUDING Direct TVs own parents company has their own(AT&T owns HBO Max) and they still refuse to offer an out of market streaming service to everyone. It is doubly astounding because they actually have the technology in place and choose to only let limited people buy it. It's like having a machine that prints money, but only turning it on when a customer buys a fax machine.

Bills cuts to get to 53 [final info in the OP]

Good. I think he's Bam Johnsons replacement. Maybe it's because I'm an ardent advocate for modern usage of the FB but I think that having the option does far more for our offense than an extra body on defense.
