  1. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/29/raiders-fail-to-wear-masks-at-public-event-potentially-putting-them-in-hot-water/ It doesn't mention suspension as a possible penalty unfortunately. The NBA took this stuff seriously, and that's why they were able to play a full season. If the NFL doesn't (take it seriously) they won't (have a full season.) They also just had this in the news a day earlier. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nfl-investigating-raiders-for-violating-covid-19-protocols-144124035.html C'mon Raiders, get your ***** together.
  2. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/29/raiders-fail-to-wear-masks-at-public-event-potentially-putting-them-in-hot-water/ Hmm, I wonder if there could be any ramifications for Sunday?
  3. In prior seasons the home team gets a 3 point advantage. It's probably a little less this year without fans in the stands, but there's still the disadvantage of travel, etc... (especially for the Rams who were on their second cross country trip in as many weeks.) So If the Bills were favored by 3 (it ended up being 2 by gametime) in that game it means Vegas had them actually around even if the game were to be played at a neutral site. The Bills are again favored by 3, but this points the Raiders are being given 3 points for being the home team. So if it were a neutral site it'd be 6 points (and the difference between Rams / Raiders would be 6 points.) A 6 point spread in the NFL is healthy.
  4. 1. I think you've covered the list. Maybe one other would be Duplicate Topics, Bad / Misleading Topic Titles, or opening new topics during games? 2. Politics / COIV-19 = 3, Inappropriate Language = 2 points, Abusive Behavior = 5 points, Inappropriate Avatar = account locked until Avatar changed, repeat offender would be 5 points, Topic Bumping. = 1, Duplicate Topics, Bad / Misleading Topic Titles = 1 point for first offense, 3 for repeat offenses One question (I don't have an answer) would be how to handle a single post that breaks multiple rules (eg a Political post on the football board that uses inappropriate language in an abusive way - does that add up to 10 points using the sample point values I gave above?) I don't have an answer but I think it would be good to have it documented how a case like this would be treated. 3. Consequences - I'd start with removing posting access (maybe for 2 weeks or a month?) and go from there. 4. I'd suggest points should expire after 6 months, but it also might be nice for the Mods (and poster) if possible to see the total history of points for a user so they have context when making decisions. 5. IMO we're not really owed anything like this, especially if the rules are simple, layed out in writing and enforced consistently. If you wanted to entertain appeals I feel like it would either be up to a vote among Moderators or just a review by yourself (but honestly it just seems like extra work on yourself or Mods to appease people being whiny.)
  5. Darnold's unlikely to go someplace where he doesn't feel like he has a chance to earn a starting spot (eventually.)
  6. Huh, what's Derek Carr doing with Paulie Bleeker?
  7. The league seems to be calling Offensive holding less (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29892284/nfl-week-1-holding-calls-78-percent-compared-2019-season) focusing on "clear and obvious penalties (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/21/nfl-didnt-tell-teams-about-it-plan-to-focus-on-clear-and-obvious-fouls/). I think pass interference / defensive holding calls also seem to be up.
  8. Get ready for the Jags to lose 44-15 this weekend.
  9. The other thing to consider is the NFL's emphasis on only calling "clear and obvious" fouls. Not sure of the full statistics but it seems holding calls are way down, which in general should open more offense in general.
  10. To me this is basically just letting the players know that if they like playing for him they'd better turn it around. I can't imagine being a person who likes Adam Gase (or playing for him) so I expect them to continue stinking it up.
  11. I do have a gut feeling that Peterman could see some action in this game, maybe Carr gets knocked out at some point, or maybe he just throws a few too many INTs.
  12. I was wondering if maybe he came back too early and the shoulder injury was limiting his effectiveness?
  13. What did Sam Bradford do to get thrown in with the Jets here?
  14. Also on the horse collar - I understand Josh being upset, but he should know the rules enough to not get called for that Unsportsmanlike.
  15. I usually only bet on the Bills if they are playing Jets or Dolphins. If that's not the case I'll sometimes put money on Bills touchdown scorers. Missed today with Singletary, Gabe Davis and Yeldon.
  16. Not sure if this is gonna turn into the overall officiating thread, but they also missed an elbow to Kroft's head on the phantom interception.
  17. More of a jog around the park really. Usually when you go for a jog you wind up where you started.
  18. Right, I was saying he was left out of the Brady vs Manning comparison.
  19. I have a feeling Devin Singletary is going to have a big day this week. I'm not expecting the Bills to completely go away from the passing game, but I feel like this will be the first week this year where we really focus on the ground game, especially on the outside (and maybe in the screen game) away from Aaron Donald. I'm expecting 200+ yards rushing this week between the backs and Josh.
  20. Also - it's been mentioned in lots of places, (and maybe here) but with the new IR rules, I would expect them both to be 3 week or shorter type injuries, otherwise they would have been on IR already.
