My guess is the Giants are close to having some success next year and they wouldn't want to give Daniel Jones the experience, but more than that it seems to me the Eagles (or Doug Pederson anyway) are absolutely losing this on purpose to improve draft position.

I am completely baffled why anyone thinks this. McDermott hasn't really said anything other than we'll do what's best for the team. And why would he or anyone expect the Steelers to win the next 2 games after the way they've played for the last month? We'll see on Sunday, but I'd bet good money that Allen and Diggs at minimum will not play longer than a quarter (my gut tells me they might play one drive or less.)

Last year where he still needed the work he started the game and played less than that.

Eh, some of it's good and some of it's not. I take it more seriously than someone who thinks they're going to risk injury to Allen to get the 2 seed this year in this circumstance.

I've been listening to WGR all week and it sounds too me like consensus is that Allen will probably play very little, if at all. I don't think whatever happens in Pittsburgh will really play into it. Regardless of if they win, I don't expect them to win 2 games in a row (and if they do, does anyone think the Bills are worried about going there?) Bottom line is you have to weigh likelihood of not getting that second home game (pretty unlikely) and how much it could impact our chances (even more unlikely) vs likelihood of Allen or someone significant getting hurt (it happens to teams every week) and how it would impact our chances of winning (if Allen goes down we're likely screwed.)
