  1. Read it again. I understand that if he doesn't play out the contract he doesn't get paid. I'm pointing out that even the biggest 1st round busts, with the largest contracts tend to play out their entire contracts. With this in mind, I don't pay that much attention to guaranteed money for first round rookie contracts. How am I agreeing with you?
  2. I understand that guaranteed money is important when looking at contracts in the NFL, but it's just very rare for a team to give up on a first round draft pick before their first contract is up.
  3. I could not disagree more. If you look at 1st round picks in the last ten years, how many have not played out their entire rookie contract? Even Alex Smith is still collecting from the 49ers.
  4. Depends on which source you believe.
  5. If true, this link makes it seem as though the offer was a little on the low side, at least when compared with what Moreno got at pick #12. 10% over mckelvin's contract ($19.4 million) would be $21,340,000 Not sure how accurate, as other sources are reporting the 25/5 numbers.
  6. Biggest problem with this idea: James actively sought his release from AZ because he felt he was a starter. He's probably not interested in coming here to sit behind ML.
  7. So, it looks like you did it?
  8. Not sure how accurate this is, but I remember hearing that once he didn't re-up with NFL network and told them about the ESPN deal, they had him sit out the rest of his contract.
  9. Did you catch my Chuck Lester thread the other day? Did you? Huh?
  10. He last played for us two years ago (2007) which is why our speceial teams units would have suffered last year, if they did indeed show a negative impact.
  11. I'm looking for some stats to back it up, not finding much either way. It could have just been my perception, but it seemed to me that we gave our opponents better starting position last year than in years past (although our ST units were still ranked #1 overall by Gosselin.)
  12. Thanks John. YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! Hopefully he proves himself worthy of my enthusiasm.
  13. Apparently we needed two.
  14. the question is not why you would dare to give your opinion (i'm sure others will ask that), but why you couldn't use the thread was already opened today to do so.
  15. why????????????????????
  16. I think we're splitting hairs here, but... http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/765098.html "... it's known that he feels undervalued in his current role, and that his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is pushing for the Bills to move him and give him a chance to flourish elsewhere in a more complete capacity."
  17. He was a monster on special teams, and could be one reason our coverage units suffered last year.
  18. Coy was a great guy, and a pretty good player. If I recall correctly, the Bills let him go mostly out of concern that he shouldn't play football anymore, based on recommendations made by the medical staff. He has some pretty scary spinal issues, and I can totally understand why we didn't retain him. I am glad for him that he has persevered, following his dreams and making good things happen.
  19. First of all, trading him is not a punishment. He has asked to be traded. Second, when used as a WR, he has dropped passes when he has been able to get open, which is not frequently enough. This is not on the coaches. I love Roscoe, and am happy to have him as a return specialist; if he's not happy there, he needs to start making more plays on offense when he's given the opportunity.
  20. He'll totally fix your posts.
  21. I'll fix you. Seriously, I'm perfectly happy, although I don't claim to be a Christian. And for anyone who never takes pleasure in someone else falling on their face, well, good for you. I hope you fall on your face, or maybe into some quicksand .
  22. No. Some of us have a strong dislike for him following his actions last year. If he fails, we will take pleasure in it, because we are human beings.
  23. His contract was in his stomach. Philly has some good eats.
  24. I usually will not judge a player by how he looks in uniform. I leave that to the Mrs.
