What's the Eric Wood quote about doing things on a football field that are severely illegal? To be fair, in the same interview he talks about flipping the switch on the field. It seems like he understands how to behave off of the field.

Who is asking to "throw away the key"? He has been indefinitely suspended, and it seems like the Dolphins are cutting ties as soon as is practical. That seems appropriate. What do you think the appropriate response is? Also, re: jumping to conclusions, I think I'm misunderstanding your point. On the one hand, it seems like you're condemning people for rushing to judgement, on the other hand you are acknowledging that it seems Incognito is guilty of what's been described, and that regardless of what else happened with Martin or the Dolphins organization there is no excuse for what Incognito is accused of. Were you as critical of those rushing to judge Martin in the first 7 pages of the thread? It seemse you didn't have any trouble rushing to judgement yourself there.

That was my point. It seemed like you were defending incognito earlier by suggesting there was more to the story. It probably doesn't help that incognito was on philbins leadership council. Also, we're talking about a Stanford grad, maybe a bit smarter than your average lineman.

Looking at the schedule, we can win every game that we have left. But so far, this team has shown that they win ~50% of the games that they could have (or in some cases should have) won. But I'll keep yelling at the TV, because it's what we do.

If Martin did something to actually deserve being treated like an !@#$, it will likely come out. Acting differently doesn't really fall in this category. If the team knew and looked the other way, that too will likely come out. It's early. All that is clear right now is that Incognito is an !@#$. People are fairly quick to accept that because we already knew Incognito is an !@#$. I don't see how any inaction on the part of the Dolphins or Jonathan Martin acting differently is relevant to Incognito being an !@#$. And to cover your point about it not being a crime - he's not being charged with a crime, he's being punished by his job (and his workplace is reported on prominently in the media, so yes, he's being punished there as well.) That's what often happens to people who are !@#$s at work.

There is possibly more to this story. But can you think of an explanation that justifies what Incognito is accused to have done? Or do you not necessarily believe that he did it?

Right, because I'm sure Incognito is going to come out and tell us what Martin did to incite the despicable voicemail he left. If you think leaving a threatening voicemail calling him a half-****** is nothing then I would advise you to stop posting in this thread. Of course, you're free to ignore the advice.
