    Learned something in the comments. Our punter has more career TD passes (2) than our two backup QBs combined (1).

    Right, this assumes the front office made the decision to not live with the contract (a reasonable decision) but it wouldn't have given Fitz much room to operate. The FO however could have decided instead to keep him on at full salary for another year to bring someone along.

    Do you think Fitz was going to hold out? I agree that Fitz wanted to start, but I think he was also too smart to sit at home rather than make starter money and sit on the sidelines. BTW - I am not second guessing the decision to let Fitz go, I just don't see how he really had a say in the manner, other than the threat of hold out.

    I agree that the results last year were relatively good considering the constraints. I do think there were big questions last year around certain types of plays not being used more (e.g. screens), however, I generally give the benefit of the doubt and assume that we weren't using those plays because Hackett felt the players couldn't execute them, not because Hackett is an idiot.
