  1. At least this thread contains a better developed premise and more coherent analysis than one started by microscopes.
  2. I'm guessing you should change the thread title.
  3. I agree that drafting RBs high is bad strategy, and for the reasons cited already in this thread--- but the only true correlation in this blurb is that teams with high draft picks tend to have bad records in the near future. What are the records of teams that drafted DTs, QBs etc in the top 15? Bad teams are bad teams.
  4. Gotcha. And I also agree the front office needed to address this in some fashion.
  5. No kidding. What's your point? A starting safety moving to CB means there are backups at every secondary position. I'm not suggesting anything more.
  6. My post was in reference to the stats posted by 26CornerBlitz: Justin Rogers targeted 9 times for 6 completions, 254 yards and 2 TDs. He's in that position due to injury. I'm not sure where the disconnect is--- because the Jets going after one inadequate replacement was responsible for 50% of their offensive output. It's hard to cover that up when you're down starters at all 5 DB positions (including nickel).
  7. Secondary depth was already an issue prior to injuries, no question, and that's a big part of the problem. But realistically, how many teams can field a competitive secondary missing their top 3 CBs and starting S? Shifting Aaron Williams from S back to CB further complicates things.
  8. Call it a hunch, but I have a sneaking suspicion there wouldn't be quite as much weeping and gnashing of teeth over Geno vs. EJ if our secondary weren't a M.A.S.H. unit.
  9. Bills-Jets Sunday Ticket feed still not working for anyone, aside from the RedZone channel?
  10. He's definitely got something going on with his arms in the 1st picture.
  11. Yes, I'm a loser--- because I wasted my time responding to your stupid post.
  12. The only available authentic jerseys are the ones with the toilet seat collars?
  13. If what you posted is true, then I have to say I'm absolutely shocked that an NFL player had an emotional reaction after getting called for a penalty at a crucial point of a game. Hopefully when he shows up to RWS tomorrow to look at film, all of the contents of his locker are piled up in the parking lot with a printout of this thread.
  14. It's Sears. He got a great deal on tires.
  15. It's embarrassing. It's not the kind of thread I'd associate with a good poster. But that's funny.
  16. This is such a loser thread. You should be embarrassed.
  17. It's only logical if you want to play Dick Jauron style football.
  18. You're right. But you don't see the problem with the bolded?
  19. The allegedly vanilla game plan is hopefully due to protecting Manuel. If they never evolve past what we saw yesterday, then I'd be concerned we are running Jauron's "pop gun" attack. Russell Wilson was protected for more than half the season. I'm willing to believe that's what we saw against NE.
  20. New England would defend a veteran playmaker like Vick the same as a rookie in his first NFL start coming off a knee scope that kept him out for 2 weeks? Spiller would probably have gaudy stats in Philly's offense tonight. Marrone and Hackett have borrowed quite a bit from Kelly. I'm not sure they'd see anything new tonight that they haven't seen. Having said that, I'd hope they're adaptable and continue to evolve the scheme.
  21. Do you think the difference between the Bills and Eagles offensive output in Week 1 has anything to do with the inexperience of a rookie QB that missed 2+ weeks of practice and preseason reps? Because I think what we're seeing tonight is exactly what Marrone and Hackett have in mind.
  22. It looks like the Panthers' record in games in which Cam Newton rushes for under 50 yards is 4-15.
  23. I used to be annoyed by the lack of attention, but it's clear the positive results need to start coming and remain consistent. When Bledsoe was slinging it for a few stretches, the Fletcher-Spikes D was producing, or during the early season 2008 and 2011 fast starts the Bills received a fair amount of positive attention. But those stretches were few and far between. A team like the Jets is fascinating to the national media when they are bad because they have the capacity to blow up in a big and humiliating way. The Bills have not been "humiliatingly bad" over the past 13 years, just mostly mediocre. And that's boring.
  24. Of course, you could replace "hurry up" with any other style of offense and this sentence would still be true. The offensive skill group on this roster is a good fit for what Marrone/Hackett are trying to do, which is of course by design. They made strides yesterday and looked generally competent if unspectacular. It's probably wise to reserve ultimate judgement for another week besides Week 1.
  25. From the linked article in the OP, regarding the Jags owner citing Martin Luther King Jr. as an influence: So let me respectfully challenge Mr. Khan to consider these words from Dr. King: “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” How is this issue an ethical one? Only if one takes the stance that Tebow's banishment is due to his religious conviction, which is most certainly not the case. I'd wager Chuck Norris wouldn't be commenting on Tebow if he were openly an atheist.
