  1. I thought the commercial reeked of insincere pandering, but I'm certain the point was that America is diverse and should be celebrated as such, not that Coke was appealing to an international audience.
  2. FYI: the Bills fired Chan more than a year ago.
  3. If only Downing could bring Megatron with him.
  4. This comment eases the sting of losing Pettine after one season---the organization is proactive even when it is forced to be reactive. Preparedness inspires confidence.
  5. What are the odds you were the first person to prognosticate this Super Bowl matchup? Like, infinitely less than zero?
  6. Bob Chandler made a great block to spring a long Raiders TD (Kenny King?) against the Eagles in January 1981. Mike Lodish won 2 with Elway's Broncos. Although he never played in Buffalo, the Bills drafted Paul Warfield in 1964.
  7. Kiko is the only defensive player of the 5 nominees--- I wonder what this says for his chances of being named the Defensive ROY?
  8. It's actually a bit worse: 88-136
  9. That's right--- they also show Arrowhead Stadium when Costner is speaking with another GM on the phone. I think it's more likely that, rather than a slam against the Bills, it's more likely a gesture of simply acknowledging them because they were the depicted franchise/city throughout the scriptwriting and development process. Nothing more.
  10. I'm not sure how LaCanfora thinks this validates his story, really. I don't doubt his report of Bon Jovi's interest in the Bills, anyway, but this is more of the same conjecture and speculation on how, when and why the Bills will eventually move to Toronto. (Not directed at the messenger, to be clear, in any way)
  11. It's message board jargon which means he agrees with you.
  12. Marrone confirmed that Hackett will remain on the sidelines the rest of the season. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Hacketts-sideline-presence-helps/476cdd84-2ca0-4e9e-97f1-8a9e70fa53bd
  13. It's an extreme zoom in on a TV screen from a cell phone camera. See Carey Bender's deadspin link above your post for a clearer view of the broadcast.
  14. I suspected it was the Bills' Chris Brown, and sure enough it was--- however, he deleted the original tweet that incorrectly said "Mike Vrabel", and the corrected tweet doesn't have the same wording or say anything about playcalling specifically: Chris Brown‏@ChrisBrownBills Sorry about that, off quality control coach Jason Vrabel up in booth in Hackett's place. #Bills https://twitter.com/...138622797033472
  15. I agree completely. I do have sympathy for the fans that caught his fall, though.
  16. Who's on first?
  17. You mean coaches can't communicate to the QB via radio from the sideline? If so, then it all makes sense.
  18. The way it was worded was that Hackett was still calling the plays but the apparatus to send them into EJ was from the booth--- it sounds like it unnecessarily complicates what is already a delicate process but maybe it's not that strange. I'd be interested to hear some clarification from Marrone or Hackett this week.
  19. I can't recall which reporter mentioned this on twitter during the game, but apparently the offensive quality control coach was sending in the plays from the booth which is what caused the delays--- the only reason I made a note of this is that the reporter referred to the QC coach as Mike Vrabel. Thinking it was the former Patriot I looked it up and it was a mistake: his name is actually Jason Vrable.
  20. It was actually captured by the broadcast toward the end of the game. I hope all involved are OK. https://vine.co/v/htj9ndMgJte
  21. Balzer's comment isn't that the Packers reached out to Favre... only that Balzer reached out to Bus Cook asking if Favre would consider returning to the Packers. It doesn't appear that the Packers considered Favre in any way.
  22. Ian Rapoport (NFL Network) @RapSheet: Good news on promising #Bills WR Robert Woods, who left Sunday with an ankle injury. I’m told it’s only mildly sprained. Day to day
  23. If, prior to the game, you'd predict the Bills would put up more than 400 yards of total offense, including 240+ rushing, keep Charles in check and under 100 total yards, hold the Chiefs O to 3 FGs and no TDs, force 6 punts, and refer to the below stat--- I'd assume the prediction was that the Bills would win 35-9. gregg rosenthal ‏@greggrosenthal 1m Most insane stat of the day: Chiefs didn't touch Jeff Tuel. No sacks, no QB hits. 42 drop backs.
  24. There's nothing crazy about it at all--- it's fairly evident that the ground has shifted and the Bills are competitive with more than mere smoke and mirrors. There's a solid talent base here and a coaching staff with a clue--- despite all of the rookie growing pains, which were to be expected. I tend to lean optimistic in general (what's the point otherwise?), but over the past 10+ seasons, the optimism felt forced and as though it were flying in the face of logic. To not like the current state of the franchise and where it appears to be heading now feels like an attitude that flies in the face of logic. Hope springs...
  25. I understand what you're saying, but unfortunately, there are enough impressionistic young men playing football that tend to fall in line behind douches like Incognito, like kids on a playground, that the lockerroom will get out of control pretty quickly. The constant effort needed to dissuade a guy like Richie cannot possibly be worth it when there are Kraig Urbiks with potential out there on other team's practice squads. I'd say at the very least, the fact he's been dumped by every team he's played on is a sure enough sign that his talent isn't deemed irreplaceable so it's just much easier to replace him.
