  1. It sounds more like he was praising his team than knocking the Bills: “I think it’s happened quicker here because I think it’s a smart group,” Pettine says, comparing the install to last season’s with the Bills. “I’m not saying we were dumb in Buffalo—far from it—but this is a group that I think processes, as a whole, very quickly.”
  2. I wouldn't be shocked if Timmy texted Tannenbaum to suggest it and make sure he has Rogers' number.
  3. Since when does message board speculation require a source?
  4. I think the NFL isn't on board with AEG's plan simply because there is neither a team currently in LA nor any indication of one heading there anytime soon. http://www.dailynews.com/government-and-politics/20140216/tipoff-aeg-nfl-stadium-still-a-first-string-idea
  5. Unless I'm misreading the purported public statements regarding lease negotiations, the Wilson faction were not in favor of an onerous opt out clause.
  6. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/06/11/pabst-twinkie-kingpin-metropoulos-will-look-buying-buffalo-bills/ C. Dean Metropoulos, the food and beverage magnate who was a runner-up to Shad Khan for the Jacksonville Jaguars three years ago, will take a look at the Bills when the team's financial advisers produce their sales book. "The Metropoulos family has a continued interest in acquiring an NFL franchise and expects to review any such opportunity," a Metropoulos spokesman told The Buffalo News today.
  7. Yes, that's wrong, but they suggested a meeting did take place according to "sources". It sounds fishy.
  8. It's clear that the OP is correct in everything he heard on the Edge... now, is what Shredd and Ragan saying about this alleged meeting actually true?
  9. It would be utterly surreal if the ownership behind the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs joined forces to "save" the Buffalo Bills. The Bon Jovi part would no longer seem that strange by comparison. This was definitely the most interesting piece of the article: * A Western New York source involved in the bid process said he still hears that the Jacobs family will not lead a bid for the Bills. Rather, it will sit back and be ready to potentially provide last-moment “over the top” money for a leading bid group that might require it — a group that would keep the team local, and a group the Jacobs family likes.
  10. Dan Marino visited Kelly in the hospital:
  11. @JoeBuscaglia: Manny Lawson and Alan Branch have not been present at any of the #Bills workouts to this point @buffalobills: Marrone: Mario Williams had offseason surgery on his hip. Not expected to miss time. @buffalobills: Marrone: Robert Woods (ankle) and Kiko Alonso (hip) also had offseason procedures. Expected to be healthy and available for the season.
  12. @JonahJavad: I wouldn't stress the EJ limping. It was very brief and he returned to the drill immediately. Just passing along what I see. #Bills
  13. @JonahJavad: EJ Manuel was limping briefly after escaping pocket during offense vs. defense drill. Reached for left knee. Still on field taking reps tho.
  14. Conservatively, I'd peg him at about 750-800 yds and 6-8 TDs, so it's hard for me to argue with that ranking. Rookie WRs rarely put up big numbers, but I wouldn't really be surprised if he surpassed 1,000 yds.
  15. Quick! We have to kill the boy! http://www.hulu.com/watch/23438
  16. I was 14 years old and having dinner at my grandparents house--- they lived on Abbott Road just 5 minutes from the Stadium, so it was always an event even if I wasn't attending the game. I remember my grandfather said I should turn off the radio but I refused because I was a masochist even then... and somewhere inside, I still BILLieved, as always. Anyway, my mother happened to be shopping with our cousins at the McKinley Mall and the sporting goods/hat store was showing the game on the big TV they had out front, which eventually attracted dozens of shoppers. I listened to the very end, but my mom watched the entire 4th quarter live with a bunch of strangers...
  17. @buffalobills: .@sammywatkins plans to be at Jim Kelly's football camp. "Anything for Jim" @buffalobills: .@sammywatkins on Jim Kelly: "He gave me wisdom and encouragement ... Everybody is family"
  18. When Ralph passed, many of the remembrances of him stated he voted against team relocation every time there was a vote--- I don't know if it's necesarily considered a matter of public record, but I'd imagine it would become public fairly quickly.
  19. Thurman was on WGR this morning--- it should be available in the Audio Vault soon: howard ‏@hsimon62 24m about to talk with @thurmanthomas about Jim Kelly and the sale of the #Bills on @WGR550 howard ‏@hsimon62 16m Thurman on Jim Kelly: he's holding up great. should find out in next 2-3 weeks if cancer has shrunk howard ‏@hsimon62 14m Thurman says he's optimistic #Bills will stay here long term. said Jim Kelly opened up to him about his plans but Thurman declined to... howard ‏@hsimon62 14 mins get into specifics. said Jim has talked to Roger Goodell, Donald Trump and to his group too. So I guess that means Trump is not Kelly's guy howard ‏@hsimon62 9 mins Thurman said he believes the trust is trying to get the best WNY based bid and are trying to sell to people with ties to WNY howard ‏@hsimon62 8 mins said he and other former #BIlls who've been approached by different groups will prob let Kelly take the lead and support group he likes
  20. This isn't even remotely true. If the thesis of this article is that Watkins' only relies on his speed as a WR, then it's nonsensical tripe. He likely won't singlehandedly turn around the franchise's fortunes and he may even be a disappointment relative to his cost--- but he's far from a one-dimensional speedster.
  21. I was a little disappointed that the selfie he took with Goodell wasn't actually his idea--- the NFL came up with it and selected him as the player to take it. It was a cool moment because it seemed so unscripted--- naiveté on my part, I guess. Having said that, he's he the total package and represents the Bills well. It's hard not to love him.
  22. This afternoon, The Buffalo News posted a video of Mark Gaughn interviewing Jim Kelly--- it's heartbreaking to see him look so worn out, but he remains tough as nails: http://www.buffalone...it-out-20140515
  23. I mean, !@#$ Robert Kraft and the Patriot* Way, but... Lauren Brill ‏@LaurenBrill4 2m Patriots owner Robert Kraft just told me he fully supports the Bills staying in Buffalo and will do everything he can to make that happen.
  24. If he thinks Colt is the best athlete in the country but still didn't draft/sign him, then I'd trust Kelly knows better than anyone in the NFL how legitimate the red flags are. If the red flags were overblown, Lyerla would be an Eagle.
  25. And yet Chip Kelly didn't draft him or sign him.
