  1. It's not that cut and dried. The Bills don't think Brown sucks and they think Fred is old, or at least close enough to the edge. When the trade was made for Brown, consensus opinion on this board and in the media was that Bryce was the eventual replacement for Fred Jackson. It was inevitable that day would come. This isn't a case of Whaley trying to "save face". It would be impossible to "save face" by cutting one of the most beloved athletes in Buffalo sports history.
  2. Joe Buscaglia just said on WGR this morning that if Fred is cut, there will be interest from several "winning franchises", including perhaps New England. If that's true, why isn't he good enough for the Bills? Then again, it's more than likely other teams haven't pored over his game film from last year to the extent that Rex and the Bills coaches have.
  3. If Greg Roman likes Kaepernick then that's all I'd need to hear if I were Doug Whaley, Rex Ryan or the Pegulas. If that's the case then rest assured they've already got a plan brewing to make this a feasible option. It sounds like that may not be the case, though.
  4. @MaxLuckan: #Jaguars, #Redskins, and #Bucs making push for OT Bryan Bulaga, but #Bucs making strongest push. Bulaga wants $8M per year.
  5. @MaioccoCSN: Trent Baalke: "Colin is our quarterback and we are excited to have him. He is not going anywhere. . ." @MaioccoCSN: "...The media reports suggesting otherwise are without merit and quite frankly ridiculous. -- #49ers GM Trent Baalke.
  6. @MaioccoCSN: GM Trent Baalke strongly denies the 49ers are shopping Colin Kaepernick. @VincentFrankNFL: What. Do you expect Baalke to say "sure, we are shopping Kaepernick?" @JasonLaCanfora: Reached out to several QB-needy teams. Have yet to hear from one who has had talks with 49ers about Kaepernick for those asking @JaysonBraddock: Story has been verified by 3 different sources. Time will prove it. Been here before.
  7. Nothing new can be learned this summer that isn't already known. Plus, releasing him now gives him a better chance of continuing his career, FWIW. My personal preference is to keep Fred, btw. But I'm biased.
  8. @JeremyWGR: I put Kaep odds very very low. Guy we talked to in SF said Kaep was the problem in SF offense while raving about Roman. Don't see it happnin
  9. Fred freely admitted he's lost more than a step--- in preseason. He said he increased his leg/core strength to compensate for the speed loss, which was clearly observable early in the season. I'm not saying I necessarily think Fred is done as an NFL RB, I'm just saying the film is clear that he's close to the end of the line. It would be understandable for any franchise to consider turning the page at this point.
  10. @JaysonBraddock: Hearing two teams are already inquiring. Working to verify team names...
  11. @CharlesRobinson: If Colin Kaepernick is on the trading block, #49ers would take a $9,863,012 cap hit on the remainder of his signing bonus. This seems wild.
  12. There's no chance any of this is what is happening. More than likely, Rex saw on film that Fred is in a full decline and after crunching numbers it was determined that he could be released without any dead cap penalty. 34 year old RBs have a short leash even when they're beloved.
  13. @JaysonBraddock: BREAKING NEWS: 49ers have put Colin Kaepernick on the trading block. Taking offers. Braddock is a reporter for Houston Sports Radio 790 @JaysonBraddock: I had to double check myself & I wrote it. But, no, Kaepernick is being shopped RT @sjimcar is this a fake Jayson Braddock acct?
  14. Seantrel played quite a bit at guard at Miami. I wonder if that's the plan?
  15. Wow, that's out of left field. That name is forever tied to the Bills fan draft arguments.
  16. The only way it's remotely acceptable is if he actually knew beforehand, which is unlikely.
  17. matter2003 has been around for awhile... I highly doubt he'd post something like this without a legitimate reason. Having said that, it's definitely sad news, whether you think Fred is too old or not. The best Bills roster and staff in 15+ years and he won't be a part of it.
  18. @StepnerWKBW: EXCLUSIVE: #Bills RB LeSean McCoy in #Buffalo tonight. He had dinner with Rex Ryan, Greg Roman and others. @WKBW http://t.co/yEVws3Tddq
  19. @PSchrags: My Western NY restaurant spies also tell me LeSean McCoy and Bills brass are enjoying a celebratory dinner in town as we speak. @NFLonFOX
  20. There was a very interesting group on hand at OBD for a kids football camp today in addition to Garth: Rex Ryan, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Fred Jackson, Eric Wood, Rob Gronkowski and his brothers, Kim Pegula, and from the Sabres: Zach Bogosian, Mike Weber, Marcus Foligno and Patrick Kaleta.
  21. @ByTimGraham: I can assure you Fred Jackson is monitoring these Bilal Powell reports closely.
  22. He put up a short Instagram video clip saying the same as he boards the plane: https://instagram.com/p/z-u_h_rXFU/
  23. That's the 2nd time LaConfora has mentioned the Bills "outbid" themselves with the Incognito signing. How much less could they possibly pay him?
  24. @JosinaAnderson: Source added that the #Bills added 2 more years to LeSean McCoy's existing contract. Team expecting Shady to show for physical today.
