  1. It’s been pretty plainly stated that the Bills liked Mahomes but McDermott didn’t think it would send a good message to the roster if they picked him at 10. They were only taking him if they traded back and he was available. At least according to Tyler Dunne: https://www.golongtd.com/p/part-i-the-pressure-is-on-josh-allen
  2. Teams have loaded up their rosters with QBs on a rookie contract. That's why these teams have had Super Bowl success by a QB's year 4. Obviously, that's an issue now that the Bills are forced to move money around but the window is still firmly open. In 2-3 years, it'll be much more difficult.
  3. Weren’t the Bills interested in signing him the last time he was a FA? He was effective at times last year in a horrendous situation. He’s the embodiment of a bigger bodied RB who can be trusted on 3rd down and in pass pro plus he’s cheap.
  4. The confusion is understandable after Cincinnati had so many easy drives in Buffalo on Sunday.
  5. I’m not advocating for McDermott to be fired but I don’t really see how to recover from this. How can the locker room respond to him now?
  6. It’s not like in hockey where you can throw pucks on net and bank some dirty goals. The defense isn’t good enough for the offense to play that sloppy.
  7. -I think Frazier has had some nice moments this year after being dealt a rough hand but today was disgraceful. I think a change is warranted even if he isn’t 100% to blame. I also think McDermott staying would likely mean the defensive philosophy stays largely the same. -Dorsey isn’t ready for prime time. Greg Cosell said it best earlier this week pointing out the lack of synchronicity between the Bills passing game and run game. I like your suggestions for potential replacements but doubt it’ll be considered. -No way should they or would they consider trading Diggs. I’m not sure I understand the logic. -The other WRs aren’t good enough right now although I think Shakir can continue to grow. Davis is fine as a WR3 but he’s hit his ceiling. He can’t be relied upon to be the WR2. -I like Knox quite a bit and I wonder how often he was kept in to block. It seemed as though he was for the first half of the year but I haven’t seen route participation stats. He’s definitely underutilized. -Absolutely agree on the O-line and much of what else you posted. Very melancholy right now but ever hopeful.
  8. They were often confounding and everything seemed like a supreme struggle. Maybe it’s a testament to how talented they are that they performed so out of joint yet continued to win.
  9. To be perfectly honest, I’m emotionally drained from this season as a fan. A Bills season has never felt more like a slog and I remember Hank Bullough.
  10. I shouldn’t say “I don’t know how anyone can feel differently” because I understand exactly what you’re saying. Ultimately, it’s true. This just feels particularly brutal.
  11. This was an utterly exhausting season for the Bills even if you only factor in the constant decimating injuries. All the snow plus Damar and the Tops shooting—— it had to be emotionally draining. I don’t want to make excuses but no other team has had anywhere near as many issues.
  12. The blocking issues the Bills had today in the face of Cincy’s scheme should’ve dictated a quicker passing game. For those saying “Mahomes and Burrow”, their offensive play calling creates those options rather hanging the QB out to dry.
  13. It’s true, even WR screens are dead before the ball is thrown. I think part of it is scheme but they’re never properly blocked.
  14. I like Singletary as a complementary RB but Cook is also complementary at best. It’s probably easier to replace what Singletary brings, he’s too small to consistently be a 1st/2nd down back.
  15. The refusal (or inability) to adjust infuriates me. Hearing Frazier say they’ll continue to do what got them here was deflating during the week because we all knew exactly what that meant.
  16. In all seriousness, if they had successfully acquired McCaffrey or Kamara I wonder how different the offense would’ve been run. Would Dorsey have developed an effective screen game?
  17. This can’t be overstated and is definitely worth noting to temper some of the overreaction. The D has been missing guys and playing injured all year. It’s clearly had an effect.
  18. The 2nd half of the Green Bay game was an eye opener, solidified by the Jets game in NJ. I think the scheme is a big part of it but it’s utterly deflating to get steamrolled like that.
  19. If the Bills had McCaffrey the final score would’ve been 27-17
