  1. I would want Goodwin as my burner over TJ is all i'm sayin. TJ's been here and maybe he has not been given the perfect QB for his role but he also hasn't shown me anything spectacular in his tenure as a Bill so far. Big Cat, outside of a stretch play that was not completed what has TJ brought to the table? What has he showed you to convince you he needs more reps than Goodwin or Easley? I started this thread because I want to be proven wrong here. I want to like every Bill on the team but for some reason he hasn't proven his worth yet. Next 3 games let's revisit this post and look at how he stacks up and if they go for him on the long ball how many times he's blanketed or open.
  2. It may be a retread but this last game just highlights the fact that the Bills think too much of this kid. His presence on the field was in no way a threat. He got an end around took it for 5 yds and took a return for 19 yards. I'd be interested to know how many plays he was on the field for since he disappeared outside of these two plays. I for one have never cared for him as a receiver. He is not physical at the line and gets jammed easily. I would much rather see Easley or Goodwin get more reps as starters than TJ.
  3. Poison in the locker room. This is dangerous to keep a guy like this around for very long. I hope to god they find a viable trade option within 2 weeks. Let's get this resolved so it doesn't weigh in on other players focus on the season.
  4. 12 is on the backend of his career. He is 36 years old. When Joe Montana's position was given to Steve young he was 37. He is in the twilight of his career even though he is still one of the best in the game that can't last forever. This is the weakest team they have had surrounding Brady thus far that i can remember. LET's GO BUFFALO!!!! So pumped to see us compete this year. COMPETE being the difference between this team and prior years.
  5. I'm glad Marrone showed the cards, it says we aren't afraid of them game planning. It's not going to help since we showed possibly 10% of Hackett's playbook in the preseason. This offense is going to have a lot of different looks as well as the D. That is our one biggest benefit of two new coordinators and a new coach. I love that Marrone can sit back and let his coordinators run things and he can manage the game and make the right decisions. We haven't had this in so long. So pumped to watch them compete on Sunday , it is a dawn of a new day for the Buffalo Bills. We'll be much more exciting to watch then prior years even if EJ struggles a bit out of the gate.
  6. I'll quote John Madden here... " In order to win a game you have to drive down the field and score points... if you don't do that and the other team does, then you're going to lose the football game".
  7. Would you expect any less of Stevie? I don't think that this is a shock the world statement. I really billieve (see what I did there?) that Stevie is a team player and he knows that if the pats do anything extra to cover him up that will free up our speed demons on this team for the long ball. I can see us going deep to Goodwin at least 2 times this game. I hope we have a starting QB that can connect so it opens up spiller for a big game. If they go one on one he knows that he can win against their CB's that's all he's saying here.
  8. Pettine sent one blitz call in the entire night. They did this on purpose to see which corners would hold up on man coverage. When you give a pro back up and 2nd/3rd stringers a ton of time to pick them apart they're going to look bad. YES, I watched the game and YES they looked awful. I do agree that Heath is a goner and was burned on every possible occasion. Butler is going to be helped on coverage if we have to start him. They'll cheat Aaron Williams or Jarius to his side but that will put McKelvin on his own sometimes which is downright scary. My question : Is Crezdon Butler more talented than Aaron Williams at CB? Aaron at least has some hours as a starter going up against the 1's. I'm not saying he is but what does the board think?
  9. I would love to have a glorified backup solidified too. It seems so many of these guys that are drifters have played for Arizona? and have a long history of injuries? and we pick them up ? Coincidence? We're really falling back on putting blame on the O-line of Arizona in our front office.
  10. If Leinart blows up for 200 yds and 2 tds no ints in the first half watch this board go apes**t.
  11. Ras-I Dowling - Do we pick him up just to get the D-Scheme plan for NE? Since we're so thin at CB, what is there to lose if it is an incentive driven signing?
  12. Did they ever specify exactly what the injury was? I may have missed this but they usually tell you don't they? I'm scared and excited to start the season, mostly scared and confused followed by excited.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Dco1vxBSxQ Good to see them having fun with their new coach. Great video Freddy!
  14. Looking back at this past draft, I can't believe the talent that we took and I am amazed that we have 5 possibly 7 starters to come out of this past draft. The five - Woods, Alonso, Goodwin, Manuel, Hopkins. You could argue that Meeks is the only one out of the draft that does not look to be first string potential. If anyone has attended training camp and has seen Meeks show otherwise, please chime in. Gragg is enormous and i'm hoping that he starts to see more looks the next 3 preseason games. I would love to see two tight ends (Like the Patsies had with gronk and the incarcerated Gonzalez) that have to be respected in the pass game. Chandler and Gragg could be a dynamic twosome. The 7th possible eventual starter is Duke Williams. Recent reports say he has been practicing very well and is extremely aggressive. Can anyone at camp who has observed shed light on Meeks and Williams?
  15. It's good for most to be optimistic here for a change! I do have to bring in a point that we did play our starters for longer than they played their starting defense. That second quarter drive by EJ was against their 2nd team D. Indy knows what they have on their 1st team and have a scheme that is in place. We have to use this preseason to build confidence in the structure and scheme of the offense and defensive positions. ANYONE ELSE LOVE THE PACE THEY PLAYED AT? CAUGHT THE DEFENSE A FEW TIMES OFF BALANCE.
  16. And on the other end of this, worst experience? I can tell you my two "GO" Tampa Bay Bucs stadium , i'm biased because I live 1 hour from there but it is definitely a cool stadium, fans are not iceholes, tailgating is civilized yet fun, going in the winter is when I would target. Bills are playing there this year at the perfect time. City offers great night life and Clearwater is right there for the beach also. "Don't Go" Minnesota - I went for a Philly game with a friend who was a philly fan and if I had been in the Philly stadium it would probably top my don't go list. Just because I haven't been to philly , Minnesota was the most uncomfortable stadium I've ever sat in. The rows are so tight your knees actually hit the person sitting in front of you. Fans were leaving with the entire last quarter to play only down 2 tds. City wasn't impressive, mall of America is their claim to fame , plus it was the fall and temps were already in the 40's. Tail gating was a 5 out of 10.
  17. Taking in every aspect ... City, fans, stadium, things to see, atmosphere, where have you traveled to see an NFL game (doesn't have to be the Bills) that you would definitely recommend going in your lifetime? Why?
  18. Why so Serious - Where you going to next on your Road game list? I'm down here in FL and Tampa Bay is a great destination game , awesome stadium and actually really nice fans. It's a great experience at that stadium.
  19. Makes you wonder if they could throw a 6th rounder out there on the table to see what other teams have to offer?
  20. In the last press conference, Marrone called out Doug Legursky and Colin Brown for pretty much getting torched and not showing what he had hoped would come from that battle. I know that inside guard is not as important as the tackle spot but hearing this from coach doesn't exactly make you feel confident about a new QB coming in into that situation. Looking back when we finish this season I wonder how detrimental the Levitre loss will end up being to the development of the new offense as well as the new QB whoever it ends up being. This also could force an easier decision from Marrone on the QB to go in the direction of the more mobile QB Manuel since he'll be rolling away from the pressure or running for his life possibly. Was he lighting a fire or was he saying man we look like poop nuggets at that position?
  21. Sweet! August 11th 1:30 game on. Thanks for the code guys. Wish they would have this app for the regular season. So nice to watch games commercial free on the ipad
  22. Thanks for the understanding, sparking controversy is why this board exists. I also love the turmoil that has ensued with the Jets and Pats offseason have been the best I can remember as far as negative impact. I really hope that our rivalry with Miami heats up. Everyone knows that most of their fans are fair-weather bastards and the only time that the rivalry was heated was when they were good. I live in FL and go to every Miami game. It'll be nice to see the stadium not empty but their fans are the worst bunch of hypocritical drunks. I have some friends that are Miami fans that even will tell me that's the way it is there. They cheer for their team only when they have more wins than losses. We cheer for our Bills and show up for them (well most of us) when they haven't made the playoffs in 13 years. I hope they have something special with EJ. Season can't start soon enough!
  23. That's why this is a forum , I'll admit looking back at the post and with the arguments posted that I was over on yardage. Just trying out something different other than the other people posting why they think the Bills are going to go sub .500. I figured a match up scenario would start up good conversation. I stand corrected on stats but that's why I started the thread hoping to drum up others interest on what the stats would be like in each game against Gilmore. It's all subjective. I don't think he'll be burnt toast but he's vulnerable against certain receiver/QB combinations. I would like to revisit the Pittsburgh game after they play because I do believe that Brown is a bigger threat than you think. On the Jets games, I think they will undergo a QB transition mid season to Smith and Smith will prove to be better than Sanchez. Hill is just dangerous and that's all I meant by the numbers. He has the capability if the ball is there to put up those figures.
  24. I didn't put up numbers on the Against Julio but without the numbers against julio in 16 games I had 954 yds against. That's an average of 59.25 yds against per game. If you add in 80-110 for Julio, thats 66 yds average against. Anyone know what the average is against DB's ? My TD's against may be off but we'll see at the end of the season. If you can pin point which games i've pointed out with Scores against that you can reason why that wouldn't happen against that particular receiver I'd love to hear your opinions. But at this point I still stand by my opinions on the numbers I assessed. I hope I'm way off on TD's but just looking at who the receivers are he's facing I hate to say I'd be close but we have a whole season to see how it plays out. I will repost how far off or close i was at the end of the regular season.
