  2. I will post the poll that was made from before preseason to see if it's changed after 2 games of QB play.
  3. To quote the all knowing Madden.... "In order to win games you have to score points... if the team can't find the endzone more then the team they're playing against...well that just means their not gonna win." If you analyze this quote right down to the very last word "win", you'll understand fully why the Bills are where they are. Here's another one from Madden that may help Chan coach this team... "Football is a game of field position. If your moving forward and not backward then you're probably doing pretty good." The universal answer to everything wrong with the Bills lyes within.
  4. Okay, So I spent my morning reading the boards and 90% of the fans on it blasting the Bills on every aspect of the 1st preseason game against Washington. Yes I agree that it was a shameful display of functionality on the field but COME ON... it's the first preseason game. We should come into it knowing that all our starters weren't out there, we are working on getting continuity on both sides of the ball. They showed on the first drive that they had some clue on how to move the ball. We found out some great things in my opinion... 1) We may have picked up 2 impact players AGAIN that were undrafted (Nelson and Bell). 2) It really is an open competition for QB since Brohm is getting the next game 2nd string reps & if Trent stinks it up he'll be benched. 3) It's a known fact that Preseason is PRACTICE for the real deal. No one wants to give away their strategy for the season neither does Chan. 4)The 3-4 IS a better defensive scheme for our players and a key ingredient - POZ - was not in it. We did better against the run... 5) We can run well against any team in the NFL. Gailey isn't going to show his full playbook in preseason and right now he's trying to get the team playing on the same page... that's what Preseason is about ... winning is a bonus when you have all 3 strings out there in one game. There are way too many people out there reading so far into this game it's stupid. PRESEASON is PRACTICE. Wait till the end of the first regular season game to judge.
  5. So I'm reading the whole pecking order articles over and some of them say that Trent outplayed Brohm and Fitzy but can anyone who has been going to the practices give a true low down on how the arms compare and if Gailey has been really favoring Trent or is he still looking at Brohm just as much? It's tough to get an idea from just the highlights so perhaps a real fan opinion on the game would help. I'd be going to the camps but live in FLA now so any news i get is via Internet.
  6. http://maddennfl.easports.com/news.action?newsId=Madden NFL 11 soundtrack Soundtrack listed above, looks like there are only 7 Teams that will have fight songs included... MIAMI DOLPHINS being one of them. Man how i hate that annoying song.
  7. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...00-872d60050929 All I could do when I watched this video is visualize what camps were like under Dick Jauron. It made me happy to see a vocal coach that isn't afraid to do his job. A coach that doesn't get on a player when they screw up and run the wrong route/assignment isn't a coach at all. I don't think that Gailey is going to let these guys slip up. If anyone has tape like this of Jauron , I invite you to share it so we can compare coaching style. I didn't catch the comment they made about who made the whole unit better just by being in there. It's in the middle of this video and i rewound it like 5 times trying to see who they were talking about. I think it may have been Wood but just guessing. We could lose all season long (not preferably) and I could still enjoy this season just seeing if Gailey is getting on guys to perform and not sitting there like a stick in the mud like ole' DJ.
  8. Okay so all the negativity surrounding the Bills last year transferred over to this year and every sports writer other than those that work for the Bills have blasted our team about expectations being low. One point that will help us this season is that we really have not seen the whole entire team play when everyone is healthy. ESPN rated us 2nd to last. I say you can expect us, if we remain completely healthy, to go .50 at the least. We can finally get some experience behind our O-Line (even though we have not seen a full season from Bell or Meredith at LT) if we can keep from losing them to injuries ... just maybe they are much better of a line than what little we know of them as one unit. The fact that we had people drop like flies the past two seasons due to injury on offense and defense has made us look much worse than we actually are. I figure that we are being thrown to the trash by analysts because of the fact that this team is UNSEEN. When have we fully seen a healthy squad? Last I remember we were 6-0 at the start of the season in 08 then the plague hit and the QB went down along with everyone else. That question mark as quarterback could actually work in our favor. Being underrated sets other teams expectations of us to be pushovers therefore they may not work as hard to gameplan or even play as hard when they play us. Chan seems to have QB's down to a science so if he gets more productivity off that position and we can stay healthy, why couldn't we make a run at the playoffs this year? (Being a bit too optimistic maybe) Fact remains, no one has seen us at 100% health in years so maybe we aren't as horrible as the media has labeled us. I like our position this year, maybe because it can't get worse than being rated last or maybe because they have let us down so many times that it's made us all numb. All the maybe's are what we should all hope for and stop bashing our own team and start bashing everyone elses. So I'll start with the bashing...If we go 0-6 at least we won't be Dolphin fans who disapear like a nuclear bomb went of in their stadium if their team shows any signs of being unsuccessful. Or Patriots fans that cheer for a team that cheats to win and are so cocky that one day they will have a losing record with Brady at the helm and realize he has finally arrived at washed up. Or Jets fans that have to spell out their team as their chant (probably in my opinion the stupidest and most annoying team fight song out there). Continue the bashing on this post and i hope you enjoyed the rant.
  9. So this just spells out that we are overpaying underachievers. I feel much better now that you have exhonerated Ralph from blame... so it's gotta be our talent evaluation or our coaching and execution. I can say we have hopefully cured both those issues in the offseason by bringing in Buddy and Chan. SO... like ESPN has stated in their rankings (Bills 32nd) there is no where to go but up. I have been pessimistic before but worse case scenario, we bite the big one and get a top tier franchise QB next draft and maybe fix our sorry excuse for an O-Line.
  10. Oh and i forgot to mention that we aren't exactly in a win now mentality like we were when old DJ was here. I am glad we aren't because that's when you make rash decisions and stupid moves.
  11. We're all waiting for Ralph to "make the move". Last time i looked we don't really have much leverage in the trade market for a high caliber probowler in both positions WR or OT. We're screwed until we can fill these positions in the draft unless we put actual draft picks on the trade block.
  12. I agree with you based on a talent standpoint but I wanted to see what the popular choice was of the fans not based on statistics.
  13. Wanted to get a count on popular opinion on this. Not so that we can start up a debate on who is better but just to gauge popularity amongst fans.
  14. Beyond his first year in the pros, what good has he done?? Why would we keep him. It's only a matter of time before he goes into "Beast Mode" outside of the locker room in his normal life and get's in trouble with his "gangster mode" on the streets. The guy is not good for the organization and we should've gotten rid of him when we had the chance during this year's draft. He may go on to have a successful career somewhere else but with all the opportunity the Bills provided him here, he couldn't keep his nose clean and stay out of trouble. I don't understand it. If someone pays me a bagillion dollars to run a football down the field, I'd do anything possible to keep that job and the people who gave so much to me happy. I'm on record saying we should drop him and anyone else who has run-ins with the law. As a team owner or coach you can't respect people like that and shouldn't.
  15. Bob DiCesare wrote an excellent article about how disposable Lynch is as a RB in the Buffalo News. I hope Lynch reads this article and recognizes that he's just being a giant DB. http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/06/12/1080...mining-his.html Bob if you are reading the wall, thank you for keeping our mindless players in check and reinforcing positive attitude and commitment to our team. This should in fact be Freddy Jacksons team with Spiller backing him up. I think that 1-2 punch could wear down a team. Both threats in the passing game as well. If Lynch had any kind of character he'd show up and play, keep his mouth shut and do his best this year of staying clean and make a case for another team to pick him up. Sitting and pouting reminds me of a 4 year old kid that didn't get what he wanted. GUESS WHAT! That's business...
  16. Looking at the Talent and Depth charts in the AFC EAST alone in the #1 and #2 slots, where does Evans talent level fall? MIA - 1 - Brandon Marshall , 2 - Javon Bess NE - 1 - Randy Moss 2- Wes Welker NYJ - 1 -Santanio Holmes 2 - Jerricho Cotchery When you look at the 3 #1 reciever options above, does Evans fall into a #1 talent category IF the QB's were all on a level playing field. Are there Any #2's on any other teams that you would rather have as our #1 option in the entire NFL?
  17. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true Copy & Paste that link. Only the Rams were rated worse...
  18. Mike I want to be Positive about our Bills and trust me I've spent year after year never giving up hope that we'll return to greatness soon but soon seems like it's been going on for a long time. In no way am i a fair weather fan but it's made me into a bit of a realist. I do agree that more problems need addressing on offense then on defense but just out of curiousity to ask you to be realistic, where do you see them record wise this year and at what place in the division. Personally me, I think they're lucky to win 2 games this year in the division (1 to Miami and 1 to NE cause they'll have clinched a spot in the playoffs by then). I think the Jets are on the rise as well as Miami. Overall we're a 6-10 team this year. We can beat the Jags , KC , Chicago and Detroit but everything else is questionable and I'm thinking even those will be tight games.
  19. Practice squad. Just a guess. I'm reading the article and it says that he played in a tough conference and produced so why did everyone pass on him?? There's gotta be something missing here and remember, most of the guys writing these articles are just as hopeful as you and I to find a "diamond in the rough" when in fact they are writting these types of future "i told you so" articles so they can look back and say that they were the first to mention it. I only hope that the guy turns out to be effective but slim to none on that in my opinion. Just an opinion nothing more nothing less.
  20. I was actually posing this question with Mitchell in mind considering he's been sub par even before the injury and how he's going to fit into the new D is another issue. They could also cut ties to Maybin if he just can't swing the speed of the pro game. If our D-Coordinator can actually get us to even 20-25th in the league on D overall I'd be amazed. Considering it's a new system and the players are mostly starting from scratch learning a new scheme 20 would be a miracle. Not to be a downer but there is more than a small chance that we could move backwards from last year in the standings.
  21. Obviously we could state that at least 2 of the 4 QB's are going to be under the knife depending on how they perform but outside of the QB's who do you think will have their last season as a Bill if they do not show that they can produce this year? Also who would you see as the biggest surprise player this year for the Bills?
  22. At first when the Bills hired Gailey I thought what everyone else did. Who the hell is this guy? The more I listen to him talk the more I hear his passion about turning us around and at least he's honest and doesn't say it's going to happen right away. I love the comment about building the team from the lines out. If you don't have a good OL or DL you're in rough shape in this league. We saw that last year. I don't think they're done with the OL in free agency yet BUT would Jauron make moves right now... NO. So even though he's a no namer , I appreciate the fact that they realize where they need help. He studied Brohm in the minicamp because he knows that sometime ago in College he was a superstar but lost it along the way evidently. Maybe he can bring that back maybe not but at least we know that he has experience in making players better and coaching superstars like Aikman. I don't believe we'll make the playoffs this year but I do believe we'll be more exciting to watch and we will be better than last year. Let's beat the F**king Patriots once this year for god's sake. If we go 1-15 but the 1 win is against the pats its fine with me.
  23. Let's face it, Hardy can't play in the NFL. He used his height in college on DB's that were under 6ft. with inept leaping abilities to guard against the fade pattern. I really don't like him and didn't like him when we drafted him as a pattern runner. I think Steven Johnson with some WR coaching can really sharpen his game and route running and be our second option. He performed admirably last season and deserves a shot. I think Easlely will come in on a spread if at all this year. He's too raw and needs some developing in the Pro style offense. Maybe they bring him in on a fly pattern. I hope Chan can spread the opposing defenses out and get Spiller into some open space. But like this thread started, you need a viable QB to threaten the deep ball to do so. Also need someone who can hit a tight end or back across the middle in stride. Like everyone here, I bleed Buffalo Blue and Red but this year I'm looking for just signs of improvement and if we win that will just be an unexpected bonus. LT is going to be a challenge since China man is going to take time to develope if he is going to be the answer. MC.
  24. I agree although i feel like we drafted the right people the 09 draft - levitre and wood , then picked up haungartner at C, we should've solidified it with another few starters in the 2010 draft. At least giving a chance for our 3 so so QB's up to now to show if they have skills beyond so so level. Wang looks to be at least a 2 to 3 year build up until he's able to actually compete and even though we couldn't stop the run last year on defense it was most likely because the offense couldn't keep them rested. 3 and outs and the QB on his back all the time = a losing team. When you can say that Oakland is probably going to have a better record than the Bills this year shows that our offseason additions are average at best (outside of a RB which we had 2 plausable options already). Everyone's excuse is "it's a rebuilding year and the QB's next year are better... ok. i get it, so we wait till next year to get a signal caller but who's to say making the move for campbell wasn't the best call at the time for the bills? I guess we'll see if he turns out to be the long term QB in OAK. Even looking at St. Louis. They went QB , OL, OL in the draft. Obviously they know that in order to turn it around they needed better protection for their biggest position on the team. I don't know why we can't get that through our heads in the front office. If you have a stellar O-Line at least you have more time for your QB to go through reads. But having a great line is nothing if you don't have someone who can deliver the ball to receivers. I agree with Nix on the fact that we may find that we have a QB that can get it done with what we have but not if he's laying on his back or has people in his face before he even gets to the second read.
  25. I think Flozel has some steam left in him to be at least a back up for us and he has a cool name. Screw Gandy, he sucked when he was here and he'll suck anywhere he goes. I still am ok with Reyes but I think Trueblood or Ryan Tucker could pad the T and G spots. I agree, I think that Bell if he can stay healthy is only going to get better and i hope he can but it's scary to look behind him at who we have to back that spot up. All in all i like the guys who we have that can start except for the LT spot... WHO DO WE PLAY IF BELL GOES DOWN AGAIN??? 77 Bell, Demetrius OL 6-5 307 25 2 Northwestern State University 73 Chambers, Kirk OL 6-7 315 31 6 Stanford 61 Gaddis, Christian OL 6-1 300 25 2 Villanova Green, Cornell OL 6-6 315 33 12 Central Florida 63 Hangartner, Geoff OL 6-5 301 28 6 Texas A&M 74 Hennessey, Nick OL 6-5 291 23 R Colgate 67 Levitre, Andy OL 6-2 305 23 2 Oregon State 69 Meredith, Jamon OL 6-5 304 23 2 South Carolina 76 Ramsey, Andre OL 6-5 322 22 2 Ball State 66 Watkins, Jason OL 6-6 325 24 1 Florida 70 Wood, Eric OL 6-4 315 24 2 Louisville Calloway, Kyle OT 6-6 323 R Iowa Wang, Ed OT
