That's cool, another Bills fan in Pittsburgh, what is that two of us now, or at least two of us that will admit it publicly. What part do you hail from?
-
They are posturing for you my man! Maybe they just don't want to admit it to your face, but guaranteed they are worried.

Most important game of the 2010 season......
Cookiemonster replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, we have to win the first game, a divisional road loss at home to start would not be a good way to start off for the new regime, and the Bills are to fragile to fully recover from that and be in the mix late. -
Yeah, I live close to, and work in the Burgh, and I am telling you, the fans down here feel very skitish right now. Of course you are talking about the most spoiled fan base in the NFL, they will be yelling for Tomlin's head after a couple of losses, so they had better brace themselves, for what is likely to be a very down year.

If u are serious, hard to belive that you have posted 500 something times, and don't know what bump means, but basically someone just psots something to pump up interest in the thread, as it appears more visibly in the stadium wall section, with the more postings it gets. People bumping their own threads, now that is a pet peave of mine. If you knew that already and were just being sarcastic, then just never mind, and that would not be playing to fairly now, would it?

TIME TO DROP THE SHOUT SONG!
Cookiemonster replied to milehiLou's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about the Black Eyed Peas, You Spin my Head Around. We can even sing it when we go down...... or U2's Sunday, Bloody Sunday! No explanation needed. or The Monkey's/Smashmouth's I'm a Billiever, it could go something like this: Then I saw Trent's Face, now I'm a Billiever. I thought wins were only for fairytales, and then for someonelse and not the Bills. The fish were out to get me, do do du do doo. Dissapointment and heartache all the time, do du do do doo. Now I'm a Billiever. Someone help me out here, I will stick to my day job, a lot less challenging. We will still be able to witness the fat drunk and uncoordinated get up and try to dance to that one as well. Then there is always" The Wedding Bell Blues, it could go something like this: I love you so Bills, and I always will. When am I gonna hear those championship rings. OK, I am struggling, but I don't see anything better fom the rest of you! -
Worst NFL stadium issue you have had, anywhere

I took my son (10 years old), and two of my nephews, one of them was just out of the service and feeling his oats, to the Bills Steelers playoff game in Pittsburgh. Reich was subbing for an injured Kelly, and the Bills beat them like 24-3 or something. Our seats were like two rows from the top, definitley nose bleed territory. We were in a section of mixed fans nicely interspersed throughout our section, and the atmosphere was amicable, with Bills fans high fiving Steeler fans and a lotta of love flowing, then the game started, and everything changed very quickly. Towards the end of the third quarter, and with the game certainly out of reach of the Struggling Steelers (has a nice ring to it, doesn't it), and the fans behind us began to wave their penants in front of our faces. I told my older nephew that it was time to leave, so we got up and started down the long descent to the bottom of our section, and I turned to look back, and my older nephew was standing at the bottom of the section facing back up to our seats and was pumping his arms up and yelling "let's go Bills", I quickly grabbed him and pulled him toward the exit, but he broke loose and was doing it again, now I am pissed. I turn to grab him again but it was too late, as there were about four or five young and visibly intoxicated Steeler fans making a bee line towards us. They got down to the bottom of the section, and there was a little pushing and shoving, and I told them, "look guys, we don't want any trouble, I have two young kids here with me", and apologized for my nephew. This seemed to diffuse the situation a little, but the followed us out to the exit ramps and the confrontation began again, now I am seething mad, one of them charges at my nephew, and I quickly grabbed him and through him up against a concerte wall, and was just about to nail him, when I catch the other three oor so charging me from one side, at that very moment, two uniformed security guards came around the corner, and I got their attention, and said, "officer, these guys will not let us leave the stadium, and we don't want any trouble". They looked at me and said, "oh, is that right, well we will take it from here, and the grabbed all of them and the last I saw, they were escorting them out of the stadium, we dodged a big one right there baby. I ripped my nephew the whole way home, then we celebrated. -

It was a playoff game in, I belive the late 80's, Buffalo v. Houston. My brother and I flew up from Pittsburgh, and were on the same flight with Jack Ham, and got to meet him. Ham was doing color for the game for on of the big networks. We sat in one of the end zones, and Warren Moon was driving the Oilers for what would have been the winning score, late in the game. Fans started throwing snowballs, that wre more ice than snow. A second before one of the snaps, I saw an iceball hit Moon right in the top of his helmet, he had to feel it. The PA come over the loudspeaker and tells the fans that the Bills will be penalized if they do not stop throwing stuff. My brother jumps up and yells at several rather large and quite annebrieated fans, that if he see them throw another snowball, he is coming down to kick there asses, not sure that it really had that much effect, but they stopped. Buffalo somehow hung on, I think the final was like 10-9 or something. Stopped at I belive the Holiday Inn by the airport, and had one of the best meals that I have ever had, and the beer was just so tasty. Flew back to Pittsburgh very content. Was only topped by the following: My Father had a Construction Company, and he had a couple of aircraft at the time, and due to business had been flying back and forth to Buffalo every weekend. The Bills were playing Miami in a, I belive first or second round playoff game. I asked my Dad, if my wife and brother could catch a ride this weekend, he told me the no planes wre going that weekend. We planned on driving, and the Friday before that weekend, my Dad called and said that he would send the plane just for us, I almost **** my pants, cause that ain't like him. We flew up, had a couple of extra tickets for the Pilots (all die hard Steeler fans), and watch the Bills squish the fish in a snow storm, in what I believe was Kelly's greatest play-off game. I think the final was something like 44-30, but was very much in doubt, late in to the game. The Pilots were rooting their asses off for the Bills, they got caught up in the moment. Flew back, and the pilot dropped the plane out of a ceiling so low, that as soon as we broke the clouds, we hit the runway, damn that was scary, but well worth it. OK, one more, used to go to Fredonia, went one training camp when Kelly was like a first or second year Bill. When we went out to watch the second of the two-a-days, just before they started, Marv was on the sidelines loosining up, I guess he was probably in his 60's at the time, any way, he gets down and starts doing push-ups, and I can remmeber the kid next to me, when Marv got to about 20, state, "oh, look at this old man, he thinks that he is in shape or something" followed shortly by "holy ****", when Marv reached 80 or so, I belive he did something like 100 straight. When Marv finished, all of those in attendance started clapping, and Marv turned around, tipped his cap, and took a bow.I have this on film, it blew my mind. -
That's gotta be a record or something!

How badly do you hate the Patriots?

You can throw the 49'ers in that same boat, when they had their dynasty, God, everyone walking down the street was sporting something 49erish, and you know 99.9 % of them have never been to SF. Everybody likes a winner, but it takes a real fan to put on Bills stuff and strut. I used to be sheepish about wearing Bills stuff, and for good reason, I don't live in Buffalo anymore, do you know how hard it is walking around Pittsburgh with a Bills shirt on? The questions invaribly start and don't stop, but I don't care anymore, mainly because I can kick all of their asses now, and will if I have to. I pump quiite a bit of iron, so I buy my shirts a little small, and they don't mess with me, hell I even get compliments now, at least to my face. -
Fezmid, you are spot on, the NFL, and other big sports in general do not outright fix games, but if anyone belives that there is not some subtle manipulation, than they probably still belive in the Easter Bunny as well. Tell me, what would be the ramifications, legal and otherwise, if they were fixed, and it were uncovered some how? Not many, cause the NFL is a monopoly, and is too powerfull. You have to remember, that just like when a popular player is cut, or traded, the usual comeback, is well this is a business, so why would the NFL in general not look at it the same way? They do, and they will do what is in the best interest of milking the cow to the fullest. You remeber when Arlen Specter tried to have spygate investigated by congress, he was cut off at the pass quickly, and politely told to stay the hell out of the NFL's business, and you never heard another word from him (he was basically questioning why the tapes were destroyed). Same thing with Donagy, he said that he was going to name names of other ref.'s doing the same thing. What happened to that? We got too 4 straight superbowls in spite of the manipulation, which wasn't quite as strong back then, when the NFL figured out that there was just too much at stake not to manipulate, it really started doing more of it. It is done through scheduling, marketing, rules, (or lack of enforcement of them), etc... The NFL is a step, and a small one at that, ahead of WWE. I belive the manipulation will continue, and only become more obvious, they use to try to masquerade it some, now they are just blatant about it. Just take what you want from it, and eschew the rest, that way you will not run the risk of getting to emotionally attached, we have to start milking them, like they have been doing to us for so long now. You really have to look at it much like you would any other form of entertainment, like American Idol or Danging With The Stars, and just enjoy it it strictly for the entertainment value.
