I know everyone hates Schopp, Bulldog & WGR...
murra replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beat me to it. -
I find it odd that you're picking the week after Trent Edwards' worst career performance to make fun of JP in that way. I think you're a few steps close to the edge. We have a great young starting QB, and we have a talented and quite capable back-up quarterback. Next time you're analyzing all that is wrong with JP Losman you should take a gander at a few 2006 games, perhaps the one against the Jags, or the one in Houston, or the one in Indianapolis (we lost that one, but he "managed" the game to get us a defensive stop away from beating the future superbowl champs of that year). I would agree that JP is probably not fit to be a starter in a Bills uniform. I wish him well wherever he goes next year. But I refuse to let you worry about his status as our backup. He is fine. You're just looking for another horrible excuse to crap on someone who is infinitely more successful than you will ever be.

If I were to ask you to find me a quote that could sum up all of my hatred for sully, you would not have to look very far.

What do you think ... Does Tasker desrve HOF status?
murra replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I must say, that is one of the mightiest message board comebacks I've read in a while. Of course I think it was better for me personally because I read it as if you were telling it to him in a todd barry voice. -
Really? I've never heard that before. Well put. While you're on break from making poetic and breakthrough statements like the one you've just made, can you do us all a favor and change your avatar?
-
Really? A franchise that holds the record for bombing in four consecutive superbowls, and you select a game last year that most people already forgot about around the league, and those who remember probably were impressed the Bills kept it so close?
-
You know what pal? You seem overly motivated about your status as a message board member. Why don't you take a step back and stop posting for a while, read what other people have to say, then come back to this thread and realzie what a mistake it has been. The only thing you've established thus far is that JP Losman is not Tom Brady or "Frank Reich".

I'm not sure this thread needed to be made. I think it's pretty obvious that anytime you're playing against Brett Favre you're going to get significant market exposure.

I think this guy had fun at the Chargers game
murra replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know why you guys are pretending like its wrong for him to make fun of Buffalo's financial depression. I mean the joke is like 40 years old, but its still true. I thought it was a great read, INCLUDING his stab at our economy. Why? Because he's right, it allows us to have relatively cheap home games. He doesn't lose credibility. He was making a point. He could have said we've only had one playoff appearance, but he chose to say we've only been 8-8. Whatever, point made. Get over yourself, the argument made sense. I don't know how you could get upset by that article. He said things I've been saying for years. -
Since Nobody Has Made A Post About The Bills Players
murra replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do we really think that each year 6 HOF worthy players are drafted? IMO They should make this a more exclusive group and let in only 2 or 3 people, then it would be exciting. I may be biased as the rest of us, but I think it would be a great travesty if a player like Andre Reed got in. Yeah he has some nice numbers, but WRs now a days are breaking all of that wide open, and he'll be further propelled down the list. He was a big contributor to getting to 4 superbowls, but in them did very little to highlight his ability. He's most likely not getting in anyways, so the ensuing argument is pointless, but I'm just saying, as far as the WR position goes, I'm not sure Reed did enough to contribute, especially considering what players are doing now. I know it's ESPN, but read this to get an idea of the sort of respect he's getting. -
I usually wait 7 years to assert that "title" as well...

I disagree, I find it annoying when he brags about his intelligence, but I don't think its right to insult his chosen profession (even if he does suck at it). After all, he's only exemplifying his intelligence more by doing something he has a passion for as opposed to something that racks up money but provides little satisfaction.

I have a question about the NFL - and stadium sellouts.
murra replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What? Because I know of no rule by which the owner must pay off the money he doesn't make on missed seats to the NFL. Selling seats means revenue for your team. Your franchise keeps it. However, I'm not positive of this because of the shared revenue deal. I don't think that they would really charge the Bills for non-sellouts though because our seats our so cheap. I don't really know this for sure, but I'm assuming that the whole shared revenue thing would not apply because the Bills require money shared to them, not taken away. In fact, the shared revenue deal is probably the only form of socialism I accept, because it keeps constant the legitimacy of the teams around the league and keeps their fans and owners with a reputable franchise allowing them each to compete fairly. You are right I don't know this for sure, but I'll take my educated guesses over the "friend" who knows for a fact Jim Kelly has a group with the money ready to buy the team if needed tomorrow. -

murra replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh. None of that is really true. The owner is not responsible to the league for unsold tickets. Also, the Jim Kelly thing, he must have misheard. Jim Kelly is campaigning to get a group, but there is no way that he has raised enough people thus far to have enough money and NOT go public with it. -
There is no reason to pretend I'm absolving Trent. I'm just saying that he's not one of our problems right now. If you're worrying about that then you're insane. A second year QB in a tough road divisional rivalry game chocking in the 4th quarter is expected. It is not what he did though. The interception, he was hit. The fumble was clearly not one of the worst mistakes a Bill made, and to be honest, the safety looked bad and was probably Trent's error, but he looked accurate and moved the ball well when down two scores late. He wanted that win, and looked like he overcame his "errors" and was marching. An unfortunate Royal fumble was frustrating more to me than Trent's mistakes because I would've liked to have seen what he could have done. We're way ahead of schedule, our 3rd round QB is way ahead of schedule and this is a time to embrace the Bills, not bash their quarterback unmercifully because you can't take a loss.
-
I agree entirely. Trent was not responsible for the loss at all. Edit: And I'm a self-proclaimed JP fanboy. In retrospect, I was probably not a JP fanboy, but instead a realist who doesn't jump the gun and start blaming the quarterback for losses.
-
The problem is I don't like his opinion and think its ridiculous, therefore I don't listen to him. If you don't make ridiculous opinions, my chances of listening to you on a regular basis increase dramatically. I love the sabres. I once went to all 41 home games in a season (I know very few who pulled this feat off), and I played hockey my whole life, as did my entire family. I still will not succumb to ignorant theories that a cup will mean more for our city.
-
That guy is classic. One of the worst radio personalities ever. I think he once said that it would be more important for our town if the sabres won a cup than if the bills won a superbowl.
-
I was thinking that too. Our special teams needs to be built around Justin Jenkins.

Some random questions from today's game.
murra replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two things that you pointed out bothered me also. Lynch in short yardage situations, and Donte Whitner being faster than Ginn. I have no answer, but express my concern for each issue. -
I hear you. I keep saying, its tough being a Bills fan: you can't get too high off the wins or too low off the loses, just take everything in stride. It's an old adage, but its worth repeating the way people are talking on these boards.
-
Haha. I like Nick Mendola. He provides a newer take on being classy and effective to the radio that we aren't getting with Howard Simon, Bulldog, Schopp, etc. Still not enough for me to listen to WGR when I don't have to, not being in Buffalo and all. Edit: Immediate Reactions is good enough for me to check the website for his blog though
-
Come on. He's mediocre at best. Certainly not something that I want back there. I want whomever will give me the best chance to win. That's McGee or Jackson or Parrish. I'm not afraid to say I don't think McKelvin was cut out for the pace of the NFL Kick returns. It's not that he hasn't broken one. It's that he hasn't looked once like he was going to. Verdict may still be out for some of you, but kick returning is not exactly an art you perfect with practice. Its a natural skill you inherit. We drafted him as a defensive back who COULD be a possibly great KR. Well...He's not, move on.
-
First of all, I have never said he's an MVP. Second of all, to say that Chad Pennington was the reason that the Dolphins won just means you probably caught the boxscore, that's all.

And just like that Pats are 1st in AFC East ....
