  1. The entire argument for extended OT, or a touchdown is needed, or one possession for each team is predicated on the idea of fairness, and equality. I'm sorry, but life's not fair. If you lose an OT game it wasn't because you lost a coin toss. Why didn't you win in regulation? Why didn't you prevent them from getting into field goal range? Next points win is the most dramatic method for ending a sorting event, and the fact that it's not all "fair" elevates the drama.
  2. Why did you pick this game to complain about it? I love the rules, and sudden death is the way to go. The coin toss winner doesn't always win, and the pressure on the offense to get in field goal range is huge. Rodgers' fumble came on 3rd down, so the sack would've forced a punt, and the game would've been just as exciting either way.
  3. But Simon, do you think it still serves a purpose?
  4. You should be able to challenge penalties, if for no other reason than to eliminate the annoying drive-killing phantom holding calls.
  5. What is nix comparing this to? Fewell? Wasn't Frazier his first interview ever?
  6. Yeah, I just don't see it. If the draft plays out in the first 15 picks with a QB or two more than I anticipate, then there is no way. Typically the combine will rearrange the draft positions and everything, but I have a really hard time seeing people change their opinions on Tebow. He seems to be a love him or hate him guy. I guess some scouts or whatever would love to get a better look at his throwing mechanics, but I think I've seen enough.
  7. No one will ever read that.
  8. I don't know how my comment triggered that reaction from you, but I was just commenting on how I thought the injury probably was a non-factor. I think Vanek has just slowed down into a different pace than he was once at, and he's not really able to keep up with the puck. It's hard to pick up points when you're behind the play.
  9. It was a jaw injury though. How would that affect him?
  10. Take it easy. We were just happy to join in on some sabres talk for a change.
  11. Clearly, it is I who takes offense.
  12. Either I'm a lonely person, or I felt it might be important that you mention the team leader in goals, assists, points, power play points, and the most blatantly talented member of the team.
  13. The fact that you mentioned Gaustad as part of the building block of the sabres without mentioning Tim Connolly tells me you probably never played hockey and have no clue how the game works. The fact that you then mentioned Zagrapan solidified my theory.
  14. It's funny how you left out our best player.
  15. In other words, you didn't understand his point.
  16. To put it frankly, the Trinity gig was so meaningless, that his promotion from there was DB's coach at University of Illinois. Essentially, DB's coach for an average NCAA football team > headcoach of "Trinity".
  17. I don't even care that no coach has ever won a superbowl with two teams. I just want to make it to the playoffs. That's what this franchise needs. Who do you think is more likely to lead you to the playoffs? Cowher, or Frazier. Clearly Cowher. If the odds are against him, for whatever reason, to win the superbowl, then that's fine. At least get this franchise used to some winning.
  18. Wow. His man destroyed him, got to the ball, and then dragged him for 10 yards.
  19. Probably a lot of down time reporting on the Bills' off-season activity.
  20. And now Dean comes back? Interesting.
  21. Dude... the Bills don't pay players like Clements 80 million dollars because they're not worth the investment. It has nothing to do with frugality, its common sense. You're not going to win an argument proving Ralph is cheap. Maybe he's been afraid to get a marquee coach, but even that's been speculated as his uneasiness to lose power. Rip apart Ralph all you want for being a football idiot (see firing of Polian, etc.) but don't try and make it seem like you've got a million examples where Ralph is a cheap owner.
  22. 1. Rebuilding a franchise, and actually coaching is what good coaches would rather do. Unlike you, not everyone likes to take the easy road in life. 2. This deserved a new thread. Thank you.
  23. "Leaf joined Don Carthel's West Texas A&M staff as a quarterback's coach in 2006, and also became the school's golf coach in 2007. " "On November 5, 2008, Leaf was put on indefinite leave from his coaching position at West Texas A&M for allegedly asking one of his players for a pill to help him deal with pain in his wrist dating to his NFL playing days"
