  1. Dude, thanks for posting that link. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to wake up the wife and kids. Absolutely classic material.

But...But.. the FO were complete morons for taking a lazy UDFA and trading his overrated hold out ass for a 1st round pick...right?

The guy had all the talent in the world but had one solid season. He may become a great player...right now it was a win for the Bills to dump him and draft Wood.....(assuming his leg heals.)

    Cue the Peter's apologists....

  2. If the knock on Frazier is that anyone could win with his talent, what does Billick have going for him?

I'm not knocking on Frazier. Although in all honesty, his defense has been crumbling down this home stretch.

But your right, without question Billick benefited from the great Raven's defense. But the guy still got the job done...

Regardless...I was asked to provide coaches that didn't flame out during their last stint with a team...and I did just that....

  3. Can you name the available head coaches that did NOT flame out in their last job?

    Thanks.

Do I really have to name them? I'm fairly sure that they have been talked about with a degree of frequency on this board...

    For your reference:

    REGULAR SEASON POST SEASON

    Brian Billick: Total 80 64 0 .556% 5 3 .625% 1 Superbowl win

    Bill Cowher: Total 149 90 1 .623% 12 9 .571% 1 Superbowl win/1 Superbowl loss

    Jim Fassel: Total 62 55 1 .530% 3 3 .500% 1 Superbowl loss - (Disclaimer--I don't want him)

I'm leaving out Schottenheimer and Gruden as they have essentially stated that they have no interest in coaching.

I'll concede that Dennis Green has a overall winning record (.546%) he was 16-32 (.333%) in his latest stint with the Cardinals (A program that Ken Wisenhunt has had no problem turning around.). Why not just hire Chan Gailey? :wallbash:

  4. Maybe they will "like them" during the interview too.

Both of these guys have said they are interested. Please at least give them the courtesy of an interview. Both have winning records in the NFL. They should at least be considered before hiring a college head coach / coord. or Pee Wee football coach.

Why do the Bills make this seem so difficult, when they are one of the few open jobs in the NFL?

Why Martz and Dennis Green? Both coaches flamed out in their last NFL jobs....

Just saying. HC experience is important, but not necessarily all former HC should be considered....

  5. Whatever this alleged announcement is, I hope it will be the last "rumor" coming out of Jim Kelley and Thurman Thomas. They are all over the place making comments about the franchise, or allegedly making comments about the franchise, and frankly if they are going to be involved in something meaningful, I wish they would either do it or shut up about it. Jimbo is my all time favorite Bill, and of course I watched every yard Thomas gained during his Hall of Fame career. But unless they have something substantial to add to the improvement of the team TODAY, then they are wasting their time hanging around the team on the sidelines and in the media.

See, I'm going to disagree with you here. With the product we have been provided on the field, a little speculation and chatter keeps things interesting. Its the offseason, what else is going on?

  6. The announced reason for doing away with the red endzones was that they had turned to a dark pink ... the team couldn't get a guarantee that it wouldn't happen again (IIRC) ... sorry, no link, but that is my memory from when it happened.

I wish we could have them again, though ... in real life and on Madden

I had never heard that. I always just assumed that they decided to change them when they installed the new field turf.

  7. While we're at it, let's make the endzones red again. Anyone notice that when we switched to field turf with no red end zones we stopped scoring touchdowns?

Bring back the big red targets!

Laugh if you want. But I actually made a post about this a year or two ago...

  8. That was my thought when he first brought up that date. Throwbacks full time???

Personally I think both the home and away throwbacks are very classy. But even if they went in another direction I would be ok with that too. Anything but the blah Navy option or the optical illusion aways that we currently wear.

As has been noted before, Bills haven't made the playoffs since wearing these uniforms...keep the sweeping change going!

  9. I believe this date has nothing to do with announcing changes in ownership. Nothing to do with the hiring of a HC.

1/15/10 - Will forever be remembered as the day the Buffalo Bills announced a change in their uniforms!

    This is my prediction....

  10. I think three3 just needs to stop posting his drama. We get it, you hate Buddy Nix for what ever reason.

Heres some points regarding your post:

Heres why you have no clue to what your talking about:

1.) Can you please tell me when Buddy Nix was out of Football? Hes was in Buffalo from 1993-2000 as a head scout. then he was in San Diego 2001-2008 as Head Scouting Department and Assistant GM. Then he came back to Buffalo in 2009-Present as Head Scout now GM.

2.) What makes you think he has no idea who Joshua Cribbs is? When he was a scout he had to most likely watch film or watch him at the Combine at least?

3.) Get a clue before posting. Just because you wanted some fancy name/huge signing doesnt mean Buddy Nix isnt good. Hes done a great job since hes been in the league with bring talent into the NFL. And yes he does have GM experience. He was the Assistant GM in San Diego.

Not to mention. Cribbs has been on ESPN sportscenter constantly over the past few weeks. Especially the week he took 2 kickoffs to the house in one game against KC. Even a simpleton who occasionally watches ESPN would have heard of Josh Cribbs by now...

    +1000

  11. here's a great example why nix is the wrong pick for general manager. he was out of football, doing what exactly? only to return to head our scouting department. ok, so he coached in college and has had a hand in bills and chargers drafts. does he know anything about actual NFL players? is he familiar with someone like joshua cribbs? probably not unless cribbs was on the bills or chargers draft boards.

i'd ship a second rounder to cleveland in a heartbeat for cribbs. i have to ask, do you think buddy nix even knows who joshua cribbs is?

What makes you think Cleveland is willing to part with Cribbs? He is their most dynamic player! Holmgren made specific mention of the importance of keeping him on the team...

What the hell are you talking about?

  12. dear cow her,

u suck sir. i dont even know how to spell your name, thats how bad u are. u are a female cow.

15 seasons, 1 superbowl. i bet if i coached any team for as long as you had the steelers, i would have more superbowls than you.

did u have your players smoke before big games, because for a long time, THEY CHOCKED!

I GUARANTEE U COULDNT TURN THIS TEAM AROUND.

right now u are heading towards the hall of fame.

dont take the bills job unless you're ready for the hall of lame.

remember: THERE IS NOTHING U CAN DO. U WILL NEVER TURN THE BILLS INTO A WINNING OPERATION. SO DONT TRY IT.

    :D

marv levy is king here. dont touch his turf.

    This is new...

    Reverse psychology much? :worthy:

  13.

Not because of this article. But I really really REALLY hope that the Bills don't draft McCoy.

IF the Bills draft a QB this year I would like to seem them go for one in rounds 2-4. Someone like Pike, Lefevour or even Tebow if he drops past round 1. This is just my wish list, but I really want to see the Bills to continue to address the Oline in the early rounds (Build a dominant line). If you have a dominant o line, suddenly the QB's on your roster are a whole lot better....

    Just my opinion...
