Soooo... 1st pick next draft...
billsfreak replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was common perception is 2009 that they would be taking a quarterback, and they did, some major project in the 7th round. Knowing the losers that run this team, the pick will be Mark Ingram, the RB from Alabama, then Nix will turn down all trade offers again for any of their current backs. Maybe we can get Joe Montana to breed with one of Johnny Unitas daughters (not sure if he even has any, just the name I thought of)? They do that with dogs and horses to create great performers. -
Why Rebuilding Has Taken a Decade +
billsfreak replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a difference between rebuilding and recycling, which the Bills have done for over a decade. A third world country could rebuild faster than this organization is. The answer to all the Bills woes points straight at the owner, as nothing happens without his blessing. He is the driving force behind hiring front office personnel and head coaches that no other team would dream of hiring, because they are obvious reaches driven by their low salaries. For people to think that Ralph is actually trying and doesn't see that his efforts are so far below what it takes to be a winner are delusional. He knows it is all his fault, why else would he cancel his Hall of Fame ring ceremony last year because he was afraid he would be boo'd too much. The only way to fix this mess is to get rid of Ralph, or hit him in the wallet and force him to spend, but he has already stolen so much of our hard earned money that he probably doesn't need anymore. When people come on this board or in the media and say that Ralph is upset or embarrassed by this team, it is nothing but a joke. If he truly felt that way he would do something about it, which he has the money and the power to do, but chooses his bank account over the goodness of the organization, the team and the NFL's best fanbase. I would never, ever wish someone death, but I would love nothing more than to get a new owner and turn this mess around, but sadly the only way we will get a new owner is when Ralph passes so our beloved Bills are doomed for quite some time. -
12000 tickets available for Sundays game
billsfreak replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish there were four times that many available. The only way Ralph will even make an effort to fix this disaster of an organization is if you hit him in his wallet. -
Last week Edwards, this week Meredith. Someone new each week for Nix and Chan Chan to take the blame for them not doing a good job.

It took 30 years of paper bags for New Orleans to get a winner, but hey we are half way there, might work! Because this team is way more of an embarrassment than last year, the coaching staff is doing a worse job than last year, the ownership gets worse every year, management and the new front office are worse than last year. All that adds up to talking about taking measures that won't ever happen earlier in the year.
-
I called that one. After so many years this team is to easy to figure out.
-
Ralph might be old, but he isn't dead or stupid. He knows his team is the biggest laughing stock that a pro football team could be, but he thinks he is the one laughing because his bank account keeps getting bigger. Wait a minute, he is the one laughing while all of us suckers are spending our hard earned money on his garbage product.
-
That won't send any message that Ralph will give a crap about. The tickets are already bought, you will still get you beer/soda, hotdog, etc. on the way in, so it won't hurt his wallet, it won't send a message. I say if you really want to send a message, don't go at all. Let Cheap Ass Ralphie wobble into a completely empty stadium and get a picture of his face when he sees it.

It has never been about T.O.'s physical ability that has kept teams from wanting him around. He has destroyed 3 teams with his actions. Signing him last year was all about ticket sales, and it worked. It was also a risk, but it was a risk on a team that didn't have any playoff aspirations anyway, but luckily it didn't blow up in Ralph's face. Like someone else said, he came here for one year, and one year only to try to prove he could keep the straight and narrow hoping for one more big contract this year, which never happened. As you can see, he is already running his big mouth and trashing his teammates in Cincy already after they only played 3 games.
-
What he said. And what he said. And what he said. It would give Parcells the Full House completing his run of the AFC East teams though.
-
Unless Hawk is the rare player that would want to commit to playing in Buffalo it isn't going to happen without a restructured contract. He is making $4.623 million this year but a base salary of $10 million next year, which is why unless they restructure the contract, he won't be in Green Bay either next season. Ralph won't pay a quarterback 3 or 4 million, why would he pay a linebacker 10 million. If Fred Jackson is frustrated, at least he is getting paid to be frustrated, us fans just sit here for free and feel the pain.

There I have now made your post accurate. You are very welcomed.

NEWS FLASH! Unless you have been in a coma, you would know this is year 10 or 11. Do you realize that? It is basically the same team that was on the field last year, but healthier and they look worse? Do you realize that? I know you can't turn a team around in one year, but it would be nice to see even a little improvement and not a constant regressing. As far as hiring a top notch coach, fixing a poor QB situation and shoring up the line, of course you cant do it all in one off season, but they opted not to address any of those weaknesses. That is the problem.

Is This the Worst team You've Ever Seen?
billsfreak replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only team that I can think of in the over 40 years I have been watching the NFL is the expansion Buccaneers, but other than that I can't think of any teams that were worse. The 0-16 Lions of a couple years ago, had more talent than we do, and weren't any worse than us, in fact I would say they were a more competitive team. It will be interesting to see how the Bills screw up the #1 overall pick in the 2011 draft. It really isn't any mystery why Shanahan, Cowher, or any other real coaches won't come here. -
This whole organization is so pathetic, I am not sure I can say one certain thing is the most upsetting.

It is become fairly obvious that the hires of the GM and Head Coach were mistakes, just like almost every hire Ralph has made has been. It has also become obvious that they, especially Gailey, like to point fingers, such has he has at almost every post game news conference, to deflect any blame from himself. A coach of a terrible, supposedly rebuilding team (although you can't tell they are rebuilding), shouldn't be calling out lineman, coaches, etc. even though they are performing terrible, since the last I heard it was part of the Head Coaches job description to take the bullets for the team and staff. They blame the first couple losses on Edwards, when while he wasn't very good, Joe Montana in his prime would have been 0-2 on this team. They bench Edwards, then cut him, leaving the futile QB depth on this team even worse. That has been Ralph's way over the years to try to keep the fans happy, is to make a move, and he knows some fans will buy into it as him trying to improve the team, which in turns sells tickets, which in turns puts even more money in his pockets. Gailey starts out the game by deferring the opening kickoff, which resulted in the fans being out of the game minutes into it, not to mention, the team was probably out of it already. So the question is, what will Batman and Robin (Nix and Gailey) do this week to appease fans, and to take some of the negative attention off of themselves? Who will pay the price for the poor gameplan, poor preparation, poor execution of the whole team? Only time will tell, but who ever it is, it won't change anything.
-
Sure the Front Office sucks, the coaching staff sucks, the roster sucks, everything about this team sucks right now, but ultimately it all boils down to Ralph being to blame. He is the penny pincher who hires the cheapest Head Coach available, cheapest GM, etc. This franchise won't turn around until there is a new owner in place, that is painfully obvious.

I have always said, that any team is better than no team. But as sunday after sunday go by, my thoughts on that have been wavering. Sure the Buffalo Bills have been a way of life for as long as I can remember, back to the O.J. days, but over the past decade, they haven't much more than something to mess up a good weekend. In a scenario, where they moved to a location on the east coast, relatively close to Western New York and it meant getting a new owner with a desire to win and not just make a buck like Ralphie does, it might not be so bad. If they go to the west coast or somewhere, then I will be done with them, but maybe football can be enjoyable again, and stress free. I doubt I could ever be a real fan of another team after bleeding Bills blue and red for almost 40 years, but I could be a neutral fan enjoying the games. The worst scenario would be if the Bills moved to say Oakland, got a good owner and became a perrenial playoff contender, won a few Super Bowls and showed us what we all know, just some are afraid to voice it, is that Ralph is no longer any good for this team or the NFL for that matter. The perfect scenario would be for Ralph to sell the team, live to be 200 years old (I don't hate the guy, he just sucks as an owner), we get an onwer with a real desire to win and they turn this franchise around and stay in Buffalo, but that is probably a pipe dream.
-
For one, if the fans have't abandoned this team yet, they never will, and you know what, Ralph knows that, which is why he doesn't give a crap about winning. Gailey and Nix won't fix this team, these clowns are cheap hires by Ralph, and it shows on sundays. This team is worse than any team that Jauron put on the field, and seems more clueless each week. As bad as this team is, and as bad as Maybin has been, he was a first round pick just a year ago, so it is probably too early to give up on him, since he really isn't much worse than the rest of the team. I would like to see him in tackling drills, maybe using Nix and Gailey as a tackling dummys, so we can get their useless asses out of town.

I think Chan just put Edwards on the hot seat!
billsfreak replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No question, this team hasn't had a good offensive line in years. It is no coincidence that every quarterback that the Bills have put back there has stunk the place up, that is going to happen when you run for your life. Who knows what Losman or Edwards might have turned into, if a terriBill offensive line didn't make them scared to go to crowded places for fear of their life. Edwards looked like we might have finally found our QB, until the line let him get demolished in Arizona and he was never the same after that. I wouldn't want to put a #1 overall pick of QB behind this line either, but we probably don't have to worry about that as they will probably draft another running back instead of a LT or QB. This whole franchise really is a joke. -

Figured Ralph would be happy since his crappy team sold the stadium out. I agree with everything you said except that our quarterbacks are something that we have going for us. Our QB depth is the worst I have ever seen, easily the worst in the league this year, and maybe the worst the league has seen in years. -

Probably trying to divert the attention from himself. He sucked today also, right from deferring the opening kickoff. So far he hasn't even been as good as DJ.
